Oops, I forgot to post the source that 'confirms' that it is 15-min long/2cour long, source.

Once again, I can't read Japanese, so I can't confirm if this is real.

That's absolutely fantastic news. This is only short series that I've ever felt legitimately deserved more screen time (Teekyu is a whole other monster) and here it comes.

Gee willikers, and people say that modern anime is dying?

It's funny because I was just remembering about the series while watching Squid Girl.
It's also funny because I just recommended the show to someone less than two days ago (while, coincidentally, also watching Squid Girl) and reminded myself how much I really wanted to see more of it, then BAM!

15-min long/2cour long,

5 → 15 mins, and 1 cour → 2 cours. That's a big improvement.

Ahh, I loved this, but the only complaint was that it was too short. Getting another season and hearing it's been extended to 15 mins has made my day.

YES!

I really enjoyed watching the first season so I'm pretty pleased it got an S2. Hopefully the extension to 15 mins won't make it lose any of its charm :)

Just realized season 2 will be 9.4 times as long as season 1(including the OP/ED S1 was 36min long).

2 cours and 15 minutes, Why can't other shorts do this same thing with their seasons?

I hope this anime increases in sales because of this.

Season 1 was friggin' adorable, so I'm definitely in for more, especially since it now has more substance.

Aiura S2 half-length when?

Teekyuu can keep its 2min format though. Very few people can handle 12mins of that.

If you want to hear Teekyuu at regular speed and 4-6 minute length, listen to the audio dramas on the OP CDs. I would like it at that speed and length but I think the 2 minute methampetamine speed is what many people like about it and they manage to do one chapter per episode like that so it works.

Yama no Susume 15-minutes 2-cour, I am in heaven! Spring cannot come soon enough!

I was just thinking, has their been another series that had its runtime increased by this much?

I know Lupin III : part II had 7~ times as many episodes as part I, but that is still less than the runtime increase of Yama no susume(9.4x~)

Yes, especially considering it well take less than an hour of your time!

Now I get to play the game of armchair series composition director. Which chapters will they do for how many episodes, how far will they get? There are 46 chapters done so far and likely another 2 more in the January issue so 48 ready, will be still more before the show starts. Going by the first season's timing of one episode per chapter but now with 15 minutes, so they could go through 3 chapters per episode, but with 24 episodes, obviously they will be able to slow things down a bit as they haven't got 72 chapters to work with. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do it.

I still find it so funny, in the author's comments in the booklet of season one's Bluray, Siro thought it was a joke when someone told him they wanted to make his manga into an anime. I hope he's still enjoying the punchline!

I mentioned in the thread for the OVA episode (page 1, in spoiler tags) where they should go after the first season if you want to be spoiled about the manga. I won't put it here.

I also loved the first season, bought the Bluray and the ED CD which is great as it has both duet and solo versions of Staccato Days! Plus a karaoke version of course... the longer anime version of the ED on the BD is fun too.
