All they really do is take Crunchyroll's subs. CR's subs are fine, but it's better to support them since the money will go back into the industry. crunchyroll Sometimes Crunchyroll provides a good translation and other times fails to do so... Would people really be able to tell that 8-bit (and not 10-bit) was being used without checking MediaInfo or external sites? Lack of emphasis in creating text fonts suitable to aid mood. Also sometimes the useless use of subbing (e.g.Cow- "moo") Strongest release. Commie's editing is a bit too much, the original script is best. Great subbing for the OPs and EDs, not to mention that the subtitles aren't too slow/fast. If available, I always go with HorribleSubs. It was uploaded fast, had good text, and made sense. They get it out fast So used to their font, so can never be beat. Also consistently good quality, and superb release dates. They only sub when they can, but I believe they're quick with releases and reliable. The best subs for this show Horrible Subs are usually the first fan-rips and fan-subs that I find for a lot of anime I watch. In terms of translation accuracy and the simplicity of structure of sentences, I found them the best, even better than rori, and I've concluded this after watching 6 ep. I usually like CR to be honest, but both the subtitle and especially the video quality for this series are shockingly bad. I was very disappointed. I remember the actual text being pretty fast as well. Tons of banding, theme songs weren't subbed. Video quality got so bad midway through that I had to redownload Steins;Sub's fansub. Fastest subs to come out, I only choose them when all the other options are too slow or shittier. In this case the other subs are a week or two behind. If CR is so shitty, how come all the Blu-Ray rips (aside from Shin-GX) used their subs for this series? Bad translation quality, too localised, no karaoke. Can't ask for better quality when ripping official subbers. You'd think every other group would stop downvoting by now using "Illegal" or "Bad Subs" or "Etc" when they use rips and upload illegal content as well. Aside from the lack of song translations, simple text translations, and occasionally fragmented timing, there is nothing wrong with these subs at all. And I actually watched it on CR, not via HS. Legal. Ripping videos from official sources such as CR is definitely illegal, no ifs, buts or maybes. HS is as "legal" as any other group. When will you fuckwits understand this? The frame rate in HS's encode doesn't match the source frame rate, resulting in jittery video. This is highly noticeable during panning scenes.
