A very carefull job, specially with the impressively non intrusive background translations.
Very good fansubbers
Quite good, this and other projects as well
Great subs, barely any mistakes, great sidenotes
I only watched ep18-26 with these subs, but from what I saw they were far too liberal, and over-localised to the point where they ruined the show. The universal praise for these subs certainly isn't deserved, and I found AnimeONE's subs to be far superior
Great subs with the correct extra explanations for cultural context
Almost gave a - b/c of random resolutions, serif fonts, lack of padding, and frequent 3-liners. But the actual TL and editing were fine.
Only two spelling mistakes through the whole show, excellent timing, editing tricks employed in order to match dramatic pauses, non-verbal elements translated and shown in a way that does not confuse the viewer.
High quality, most all the videos were HD.
Great subs, good explanations. But really - it's vs. its. So simple. Maybe I'm just a grammar nerd, but ... XD C'mon!
Subs are grammatically correct with no mispelled words and are easy to follow.
You can't ask for anything better. Great quality and timing.
Good and readable subtitles, as far as I have seen they are correct.
Nice font and very sensible subbing :)
too many editing tricks to match dramatic pauses
Inconsistent video sizes (704x396, 1280x720), too many 'dramatic' pauses, caught 3 typos, HARDSUBBED, Subtitles go way too fast, they end as soon as the person is done talking, no exception.
This is about as good as you're going to get for this show. It's by no means perfect, but it is definitely watchable.
Lunar did great work when they worked on this series. Like any series they worked on.
I think they did a good job of staying close to the real context.
consistently good and catches small nuances and translates them into the very relaxed casual speech instead of textbook japanese.
Like the sub look and size, but the 'res and 'rights are a little distracting every once and awhile (I'm not sure if they actually talk like this or not though...)
They were fast, had very few grammatical/spelling errors, and, of course, to my dismay, stopped when the show was licensed. However, I do think that decision had good intention behind it.
Subbed the first episodes.
Best subbing group to sub Bleach
It's been quite a long time, but a comment is well deserved, this was the legendary Bleach fansubbing group at the time.
They were a good sub group till it got licensed and dropped/discontinued as of Episode 70 because the series got licensed by Viz Media. Go for DB.
Didn't like the font they used, or how it had Ichigo talk like a hick.
The fonts used were easy to read; signs and words written on the screen were translated for the viewer's pleasure; clean and grammatically correct sentences. Just an all around nicely done job.
the subs are correct and there are very few mistakes
not sure but it's nice :P
they were great with the subs, used native dialect, great translations.sad they stopped subbing Bleach
They provided nice pics before the show was played. Great subbing.
There material is very low quality
They translated very faithfully.
for finishing the SS arc
Accurate translations, and an easy to read font
The fact that they had Ichigo talk like a hick was to reflect his informal dialect. It's the Japanese version of a country person, a southern person.
Excellent translations, high quality, and they actually took the time to translate terms like "Shinigami" and "Zanpakuto". I also like how they use different accents for some of the characters.
it was good
Their site is down so therefore, they're shit.
Great subs! Although i've now switched over to Dattebayo, I used Lunar up to where they stopped subbing, episode 70. I loved their font, and they did a great job, although i'm pretty sure they messed up on some of the names. But amazing video quality! D
The best subs I've ever seen. Timing is ideal and font is both easy to read and looking good.
Great subbing company. Subbed the first three arcs which not a lot of companies did because Bleach was still fairly new. Only did 1-70, though. Other wise, they'd be my fave company.
Too bad they stopped. :(
Awkward translations, and dropped.
great quality and dedication
Awesome timing job.
Gets the job done well :)
theywere the first to sub
They dropped bleach
Good sub and they're legendary, i'd prefer these guys over Dattebayo and HS
Death God instead of Shinigami
good for eps 1-63
Grammar is great!
Best for 1-49
font is too big and timing not good too.
Excellent subbing and timing! The vocabulary chosen accurately portrays each respective character's personality.
Great subs. Too bad they dropped after 70 episodes.
Very high quality and translation for not only conversation but for signs and other stuff seen on screen.
The same excellent quality I have come to expect from Lunar over the years.
omg just stop with those damn karaokes!
The only thing they could do better is have multiple sub tracks. Having the romanized song lyrics, and kana, and kanji all being displayed at the same time, on top of the english translation of what's going on, is a bit much. Just have 2 tracks; one for
Translations are too literal. Ugly, hardsubbed karaoke.
completed the whole show; soft subs; HD video
Good font/color, timing, translates background talk, karaoke on all songs. Solid job.
Excellent subbing quality and nice quality videos.
Really excellent job subbing everything (songs included), especially in episode 12
Most accurate subtitles.
The quality of Lunar's fansubbing has been consistent from my point of view.
Unacceptable quality in ep 9, timing was way off.
Localised subs, we're not all Americans
accurate and they pick the best series
Dependable, but some big differences to the other groups
I just like it.
Very accurate translation, good video quality and simple yet effective karaoke . Best for this series .
horrible... a lot of the show involves dialog + music... let me tell you something Lunar.. dialog shouldn't be sacrificed for music lyrics.. if you must.. use the top of the screen for that!!!
Songs are very important in this anime, and Lunar subs the songs.
Very well times, and the grammer was better done than gg
Subbed the insert songs
okay subs, not great but i hate their obtrusive karaoke.
great translation but romanization, kana and kanji for the karaoke and being hardsub clutters too much of the screen and poor Video quality, ie grainy
well.. they actually made me understand the whole story. and it wasn't very confusing. :3
Very good subbing ^^
Very accurate, and the little side note translations are awesome.
ty for the subs!
It was the only subbing I could find.
they have a good font
Very good fonts and translations made
Excellent translation and typesetting.
Excellent translation, beautiful typeface. High quality all around!
because their sub is the BEST ^^
I didn't like the font very much, but they really translated it well.
Good translation and an excellent font,And amazing timing for this series!
AMAZING FONTS! and perfect sense of colors. made it easy and understandable TIMING WAS PERFECT
explanations, look, flow, seeming accuracy, grammar and spelling seem mostly great
Well, I think their subs were very good and very better than the Portuguese subs (my first language).
No delay and close to no grammar/spelling mistakes
well the subs were good looking
good fonts and they provided translator notes
I love the way they time the translation, it doesn't spoil the whole scene by laying out the whole dialog! more power!
amazing job and great translation for Ouran High School Host Club
good subbs and understandable
I liked their subs because they did the timing so that the text would appear as the character said it, plus, they explained the meanings behind some of the dialogue that viewers wouldn't know without their help.
Legible font, no grammatical errors, the only fansub to finish the whole series.
LunarAnime is the group who subbed the episodes of Ouran that I have. I have no complaints on the work they've done.
Text was perfect size and font.
Good formatting / grammar / lack of errors.
Everything made sense and seemed to articulate the story very well.
No problems and they gave good explanations of the cultural refernces when you needed them
Very clear text and accurate translations.
the way they placed the subtitles as the characters were saying them instead of the usual, "paste translation and leave it there" is a really good technique. timing is good, too.
great subs, video and audio.
I'm only approving because they've done an excellent job with translation. If not for the scenetiming (which I find particularly annoying) and the 128k audio track, it would have been much more enjoyable.
cool subbing but translation notes are hard to read sometimes...
good job on OHSHC
Great subbing, had no problems with bad grammar or fonts when watching the anime.
The signs were integrated into the actual signs and the dialogue in general was much better than the official subtitles on the DVD
Good quality, with accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
they are awesome!
good with the notes ;D
Accurate and very easy to understand subs that allowed me to enjoy the show better.
Errors almost nonexistent; well-chosen font; upcoming phrase is occasionally hidden until character says it to prevent viewers from reading it too quickly; edits captions.
No leadout on subs, not possible to read.
best sub out there for this anime series.
Subs were of excellent quality, great flow and excellent timing. I also loved how they timed it so that the subs would appear right as the character said it.
Nice layout and font choices. Translation clear and understandable. Also, I like the word "lunar." :P
The subbing is accurate and always consistent.
They're subtitles looked great, the font was subtle but readable. There were also almost no grammatical errors.
Accurate translation, very few errors in the subtitles.
Absolutley perfect, accurate and good quality!
The text isn't too huge to block what's going on, they don't put huge long phrases, they break them up, and it's easy to read so you don't miss the visuals.
easy to read and they provide great explanations on japanese culture and other stuff
I saw theirs... They did a good job.
very wap and "oniisans" and the like take this to the extreme
but most typesetting is done great (and the rest ist done "meh" but it is done)
this group is awesome....the most accurate sub i have ever seen..it really satisfied me and made me enjoy the animes
Great quality :)
Lots of little annoying grammar mistakes (a touch of engrish) but overall amazing translation and very well done.
Shit encoding, hardsubs, and weird subs too. It puts out a word, then the rest of the sentence instead of a line at a time. Unfortunately the only sub group you can find.
Lunar subs both opening and endings with flowery font and straightforward font during the show. The translation is superb in that they capture literally everything a character says and the emotion with it. Any fansub group who offers helpful translation n
Perfect example of how NOT to sub anime. Lots of Japanese left in, with too-fast-to-read notes. Just translate it properly! Lots of spelling and grammar mistakes, too.
Explained the Japanese terms that foreigners like me would have otherwise not understood. This definitely enhanced my enjoyment of the show. Domo
Too many TL notes, but an otherwise excellent release.
Overall, a solid fansub of the series. Translation contained no glaring mistakes. Editing was of reasonable quality. The OP/ED karaoke was well done, and the typesetting was not so obtrusive that it would blind our eyes. The video was of decent quality.
Good quality video, subs seem accurate.
Um, Koyori DID speak in 3rd person in Japanese, so all Lunar did was represent that in English.
Decent subs with great karaoke. ^_^
Minimal mistakes, nice font and sizing. What more can you ask for?
This group makes Koyori speak in third person for some bizarre reason. Their subbed lyrics are an eyesore too.
cause they're awsome
I've seen some anime's with Lunars subs. -Most- of the time they are really thorough and clean about it. It'd be nice if the subbing was always clear and consistent, along with great grammar, but among subbers, they definitely do some of the best work.
Thank you very much!
Perfect. Simply that. Karaoke FX were nice as well.
Good release. Best one at that. Even though they're alittle slow, they tend to add in extra info that other subbers would leave out.Good plus IMO (Usually before the show starts)
Lunar bends over backwards to provide little extra additional bits of info to improve enjoyment of the series; they did it with Macross Frontier, and they're doing it with Souten Kouro.
It's Lunar and they deliver the quality one would expect based on their earlier releases. Their translations are good, use the chinese names, provide notes in the beginning of the episode and as of now they are the group to release episodes most frequentl
They have serious problem with encoding in every of their releases. Souten Kouro is currently the worst. http://i41.tinypic.com/2m3i87l.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/2pp0o5l.jpg
