Oh I just did it with my debit card, ha!

Their website claims taht the first 350 people via kickstarter get an Ambassador Magma animation cel too, we shall see if that is indeed true or not.

ok, in order to avoid being too much of a retard, and seeing that i had accidentally authorized it like 4 times, i cancelled everything and just did it once, correctly, from scratch. so i should have a book, yay!

FallnKnightFakir | 05-17-13, 8:35 PM
Ok yikes, really confused, so I wasn't aware that i could use debit cards on amazon at first, so i added it, but i'd already pledged under my mom's credit card. And she seems to think kickstarter is a scam (based on when i asked last time for Unico), so I wanted to cancel it, then do it again under my debit card. I cancelled the first one, then re-pledged under the debit. I think I did it right? It still shows up as being back on my profile, i got an email from amazon saying it's on the right card. I think i did it right? Well it seems like the worst case scenario is i end up with two books i suppose? It does say that i've pledged $35 to it on my profile, so i think it shoudl be right?

Yeah, I'm behind on manga too. My main form of attack seems to be to read enough to know if I want more, lol. I'm behind on anime too, but for things I'm only finding average, my plan of attack is to watch it on 2x speed with subtitles, I just watched 3 eps in about a half hour! For series I like, full time, baby! *Sigh* I remember when my goal last year was to get rid of my physical DVD anime backlog by Otakon time. Clearly this did not happen, lol. I do expect to devour the Rose of Versailles set when it comes in though. Of course, I wouldn't have to watch things 2x speed if I was only watching amazing series in the first place, but you gotta try out things to know, right? Also, if I paid money for it... that reminds me, I watched Blue Flames on like 4x speed, so everyone sounded like a chipmunk, but soooo much more tolerable that way, lol, I mean, I know I got that one on the basis of crap, but dear god did that move like molasses anyway. At least I can read manga faster anyway.

Sweet deal, I got good FCBD deals on manga myself, I got 20 manga for about $60! And 5 for a friend.

FallnKnightFakir | 05-05-13, 6:31 AM
Any idea when we'll hear back about if a panel got chosen or not?

FallnKnightFakir | 04-21-13, 1:20 PM
Last week for Otakon panel sign up!

I can't friggin wait for Free Comic Book Day though! It's a unique geek holiday!

FallnKnightFakir | 04-17-13, 6:53 AM
Submitted the panels yet :3 ?

FallnKnightFakir | 04-07-13, 8:34 PM
Hmm, I notice the Otakon panel application asks "why should your presentation be included in Otakon's programming", what do you usually put for that?

For HGM, every freakin' year I complain about too few manga panels. You've done panels on a specific person before, I'm not sure what to do for a specific person. Or really what to put at all. If you could show me what you've written there for one that's been accepted before, perhaps I could come up with something.

Kitty calls me to sleep, as does I might be anemic, lol, seriously, I think I was only up 4 hours this time.

FallnKnightFakir | 04-06-13, 3:04 PM
Ugh, I hate it when people don't put in their fair share for groups projects. I can promise you that I will do work if our panels get picked! Though because I use a Mac, the powerpoints might have to be on your laptop (I can still make slides and stuff)

FallnKnightFakir | 04-05-13, 5:23 PM
Man, I've been exhausted lately, maybe I have some iron anemia. Also, have you submitted the Otakon panels yet?

SSJLuffy | 04-03-13, 1:22 PM
Muhahaha... I bet I have the biggest backlog of all time!! Not to mention I just started re-watching, re-reading and re-playing everything! I really need to get a job! Haha... I've been watching Rave on and off lately, after I finish up the anime I'm gonna read the manga.

How was PAX? I've never been to a convention before, I'm going to a Comic convention (I think it's called Wizard con) in Philadelphia this summer, though. Hopefully it's fun and I don't spend all my money. Lol

SSJLuffy | 04-03-13, 1:02 PM
Hello! It's been awhile since we've last talked. How have you been? Reading any good manga lately?

FallnKnightFakir | 04-01-13, 9:29 PM
I know! Can't wait to get my copy :3
It's like Osamu Tezuka invented diabeetus in manga format

FallnKnightFakir | 03-30-13, 1:36 AM
Man, no one's changed the HGM manga in ages! I wanted to do one for Kazan, that's a good manga. Feel free to edit it or whatevs.

HGM-Kazan

ComicsOne, now defunct, isn't a publisher you hear much about. It's a shame, too, as they published from pretty interesting titles, like Kazan.

Kazan follows our hero of the same name on a quest to rescue his childhood friend Elsie, kidnapped 10 years ago by a mysterious water conjurer. Ever since the kidnapping of his friend, Kazan has stopped aging and still appears to physically be 7 years old (although mentally he's 17, and his white eagle aged normally too, hooray for badass pet eagles!) The world of Kazan is a fantasy desert world, meaning that water automatically has to play some part in this. Sure enough, he finds a girl named Fawna, who can produce water, and the two of them end up traveling together to the city of Goldene, where they might just both find what they're looking for.

Kazan is an action-adventure series with great fight scenes, unique characters, and an easy to follow and very engaging plot that makes it difficult to not just read all seven volumes in one go. It's one of those series that are appropriate for all ages without ever feeling kiddy either. Kazan was published in a flipped format, the printed version is OOP, yet somehow you can still buy ebooks of it for $3 a piece.

Sister's party was fun, this one tiny girl, like 5' 2", must've had at least 10 glasses of sangria, she was pretty damn drunk. I had like, a glass and a half.

I saw you got to go to a Double Fine panel? Yes, that makes me incredible jealous, lol!

Do tell when you submit the panels, do you think the write ups sound good?

FallnKnightFakir | 03-21-13, 2:49 PM
How do these two write-ups sound:

The Hidden Gems of Manga
You know manga about pirates, ninjas, bishonen vampires, alchemists, and super girls in sailor suits. They're all great series, but what are you glossing over that should be on your shelf? If you love unearthing buried treasure or just want something new to read, then come join two long time manga readers as we cover the manga you've never heard of that everyone needs to be reading!

Fumi Yoshinaga fan panel
Come celebrate the genius of one of the world's greatest modern mangaka, Fumi Yoshinaga! We will review and discuss her series and the wonderful characters that populate her worlds! And if you have never heard of Fumi Yoshinaga, come and learn about the brilliance of her works and find that special something your manga shelves have been missing all these years!

Yoshinaga panel name suggestions:
Fumi Yoshinaga: Once you have tasted it, you will understand.

Also, I will be gone all day saturday, sister's birthday party all over DC.
If a panel gets picked, perhaps I could come up 2-3 weeks before the con to go over panel stuff?

FallnKnightFakir | 03-17-13, 12:06 PM
new edit on the first, I'm picking apart every freakin' sentence and word, and i need it to sound exciting, i want it picked this year, dammit! lol

The Hidden Gems of Manga
You know manga about pirates, ninjas, bishonen vampires, alchemists, and super girls in sailor suits. They're all great series, but what are you glossing over that should be on your shelf? If you love unearthing buried treasure, then come join two long time manga readers as we cover the manga you've never heard of that everyone needs to be reading!

FallnKnightFakir | 03-17-13, 11:28 AM
No problem, I'm bouncing ideas around people to try and get the best writeup possible, seeing how it's what they use to pick panels, right? And will appear in the booklet? And determine if I get into Otakon for free?

Here's what I got so far:
The Hidden Gems of Manga
Think you know all about manga? You go to the bookstore and see manga about high school demons, alchemists, ninjas, and super girls in sailor suits. They all look like great series so you pick them up, but what are you glossing over there that should be on your shelf? Join two long time manga readers as we cover the manga you've never heard of that you need to be reading!

-here, I wanted to get rid of mentioning the MAL club in the description on the basis that it's probably too obscure. We can certainly mention it during the panel though

Fumi Yoshinaga fan panel
Come celebrate the genius of one of the world's greatest modern mangaka, Fumi Yoshinaga! We will review and discuss all of her series and the wonderful characters that populate her worlds! And if you have never heard of Fumi Yoshinaga, come and learn about the brilliance of her works and learn that special something your manga shelves have been missing all these years!

Also, I realized that I don't think we have a fun panel name for the Fumi Yoshinaga one. You've got "The Perverted Genius of Go Nagai" for him, but Fumi Yoshinaga probably needs something too...also, I'm wondering if a Yoshinaga panel could stay PG so it's during the day, but it is her and I wouldn't be surprised if not, I might end up bringing my car down that day perhaps...
