Thanks for the hints. I don't believe I have any bootlegs, but I'll still check. Thanks so much.

Wishing you a safe and happy holiday season :)

Seriously? Wow. That makes me look at the stuff I've purchased from there more closely.

Thanks.

Interesting stuff. I've always wondered when you get to the sort of "tipping point" where you feel comfortable with a second language as less of a chore to think about and comprehend and more of a natural and instant thing. To me now it seems like that's within reach but still a fair bit of work away. I'm still not sure what I want to do language wise whenever I get into college, I guess by now I could probably test out of Japanese, but there's always different languages.. do you think those courses aid in learning a lot or are they not really necessary?

I also like Japanese grammar, fairly simple and mostly intuitive (As well as versatile, there are so many ways you can say things), even though I'm trying to avoid any deep grammar study until I've had enough real use examples that the grammar "just sounds right", and then I can reinforce it through study, rather than the other way around. Maybe I'm just trying to learn the way you learn your native language, I guess. I don't know if that's actually better, but I guess I'll find out eventually.

That's cool that you know French as well, I used to want to learn a lot of languages too but think I've rectified that a little bit and I'll take it a little slower. Was French a lot easier to learn because of all the similarities to English?

If you're into Japanese dramas (Not that I've watched any in a while, but..), you should watch S.O.S.. it was quite good.

日本語のお勉強はたまに大変だよな?でもがんばるなら、後で「よかった、いろいろ習った」って感じだ。

RE: TOKKO

Thanks for the comment on Tokko. I suspect I'll let it slip down my list and continue to chip away at it when I'm in the mood for gore. Still, it's comforting to know it doesn't get worse...

Re: CLAMP

I do like Wish, but that one took me a bit to get past the first volume too, heh. I love the ending of it though. :)

I basically had the same reaction to the Chobits manga and anime, even if I found Chii to be a bit annoying at times. And the fact that she is programmed "to love" made me cringe a bit. I mean, how much of her feelings aren't just part of her programming? That's what the show left me with...lol

I have read the first 2 volumes of X, and seen the anime adaptations of it... but I don't know if I want to continue the manga, considering that it is on hiatus.

The Tsubasa anime feels like a crossover, AU fanfic. The animation is quite crap. I'm only going to continue it because... well, I like Fai's character, and the opening and ending theme songs are good. XD The xXxHolic manga though is one of the better CLAMP titles I've read in a while because, even if it references other stories, it still feels original enough.

I would love to read the Card Captor Sakura manga someday :)

Overall, I find that I need a bit more patience than usual to get into CLAMP's stories though, which is a shame because their ideas are really original most of the time... I guess, since they produce such a large library of titles, the quality is going to be unevenly spread?

Thankies for your... erm vote! :3

Thank you so much for the help. I sort of feared I wouldn't find translations. Part of me wants to give up ... but I could just purchase the doujinshi for their artwork?

Again, thank you.

Haibane Renmei is one of my all time favourites too :D The first time I saw it was at a convention all the way back in 2003, where they showed the first four episodes... and I was hooked then. I even bought the promotional poster the licensing company was selling. Still have it to this day :)

I'm planning on rewatching it again soon, as I just finished Serial Experiments Lain, and I love Yoshitoshi ABe's art. It'll probably be the 5th or 6th time I rewatch it :)

yay, we can feel old together now! ^^; back then when you had to explain what anime is and people still would call it cartoon ^^;;;
at some point I can understand though, that people would say that they don't watch anime from before 200x. The animation and all is just so different now, the whole style of drawing has changed so much, too. What we used to know as normal is retro now...retro! ^^;;;

about webkare, it's a mixture of a game and social networking site. You can decide on one of the characters as you boyfriend and then you talk to him by clicking on him. It's a little like a dating simulation.
Oh, about Japanese btw, I'm not that good either, I suck at grammar >_< but if you want to have a webkare, there is an international bbs, too, so you don't need to be that good in Japanese to play anyway ^^ (if you join add me!!! *_* )

I know what you mean. I think it's the fact that one can find out about so many different series that otherwise you might not have discovered, and have so much information about each here. Its easy to find something you might like or might be interested in.

My plan to watch list has grown quite a lot since the start of my membership here... :)

SeerQueen | 10-01-08, 7:17 PM
Having just watched it over again, may I recommend "Maria-sama ga miteru" to you? It is a subtle, elegant series, that might be really slow paced in parts, but it is a really great show to watch. :)

Make sure to add it to your "Want to buy" list... ;)

I'm a big fan of SuperS (second favorite season after S) but I agree that Fisheye's definitely one of the best parts. Chibiusa definitely is a lot more likable in it well, it's too bad a lot of people still hate the season because she's in it.

It's a mystery~ :O

Anomalous | 09-13-08, 6:39 AM
I'm surprised more people don't have him faved! I wonder if it's due to the relative unpopularity of SM SuperS?

Random comments are fun~! And I'm glad to hear my profile is cute. :)
