Hm...I think mal is a better venue for our conversations, at least for now. I'd like to hear you're oppinion on how this season went and how next season will go.. but I'll save it for tomorrow since its getting late..

HaJinNK | 03-17-13, 10:33 PM
Sorry I'm on skype and really confused... @_@

HaJinNK | 03-17-13, 8:46 PM
So could we chat on it or is it dead? O_o

HaJinNK | 03-17-13, 8:21 PM
Its downloading super fast, thank you Holy Nacho! :D

Are you on aim or any other kind of im?

HaJinNK | 03-17-13, 6:31 PM
A whole month is too long... ><
I haven't really talked to any of my friends in a long time, even on the internet.... Commence socialization!

Congrats on the Argentine Pope! I'm not Catholic or even christian but I don't think its a coincidence that I make a friend from Argentina just a few months before the first Argentine Pope is selected... The cardinals were obviously reading our conversations about the current anime season and liked what you had to say. Should I call you Nachotee the first, the holy Nacho, or your Nachoness?

Are you sure you're a lolicon? Most lolicons I know wouldn't be able to even watch senran kagura... No reason to be sorry unless you kidnap children and keep them in your basement, in which case you should turn yourself in and make sure you're prison cell has WiFi so we can still chat.

The tsundere did make Oreshura a lot better..very cute.. It was on its way to 7 but now I think its on its way to an 8. THIS SPOILER ACTUALLY SPOILS SOMETHING:
Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever get sick of harem anime...Then I return to my senses and remember that I go to a college with 3 girls for every 100 guys so one guy surrounded by 4 girls is completely dream worthy. Vicariously I live through every protagonist no matter how hetare he is! They're all better than bleach anyway!

Speaking of harem anime... I think I noticed not to long ago that you're also watching Boku wa tomodachi ga sukunai next...The recent episode was incredibly eye-opening...
whew hope I didn't spoil anything for you...

GJ-bu is soo good -u- ... I love Mori (the maid), I re-watched the twirling scene like a million times.. It just instantly relaxes me and I feel completely at peace... Once I get my external hard drive I'm going re-download all the episodes and just keep them forever. Its definitely headed for an 8 or 9 depending on the ending.

Woah... This is the first time I ever checked my Bit Torrent help stats... I've uploaded 3.8TB and downloaded 733GB....Had no idea I was so generous...Maybe I should be nominated for sainthood... Anyway I'm getting an external hard drive for my 21st birthday! 2TB! I'm so pumped! :D My HDD on my Desktop is 683GB and my laptop is 457GB...My desktop has 84GB left and my laptop is half full so I've had to delete and throw a lot of anime on my laptop. I used an 7GB flash drive to move stuff back and forth... So exhausting... Btw is uTorrent better or worse than BitTorrent?

Sasami is a slow slow slow excursion... But I will probably never drop because its shaft.. Speaking of shaft, I've been trying to watch hidamari sketch but I'm having a lot of time finding the first season.. I think I saw it on your list before so if you could help me find a place to watch or download it, I'd really appreciate it.

Its been a while since the last time I played Muvluv but I get the urge every once in a while. I'll leave the Muvluv discussion for later...

You don't have to keep it sane or short. Comment as much or as little as you want. Again I'm really sorry I haven't replied until now.. :<

HaJinNK | 03-17-13, 5:04 PM
Bwah! ><
I'm sorry! I've just been lazy and really busy... I'll reply now~

roriconfan | 03-17-13, 4:06 AM
I like talking about anime but i will not start a debate over a forgettable title such as Kotoura.

As for the GPS, yes gravity is what is happening. Gravity is the reason everything in the universe is a curve and not a line. You must also keep in mind that everything in the universe is moving so any signal will lag even a bit if it runs after a moving planet.

roriconfan | 03-17-13, 2:18 AM
The artwork is dull, so it is not funny or dramatic, the end.

And anything is defined with light, GPS or not.

roriconfan | 03-16-13, 6:29 AM
Kotoura is not another rom com entirely. A typical rom com does not switch from forced tragedy to goofy comedy in seconds every 5 minutes. The artwork is also dull to me and nothing special.

And there is delay in time only because the light needs more time to arrive; that is all.

HaJinNK | 02-22-13, 9:34 PM
Totally didn't realize Argentina was south of the equator till you said summer but we're having an unusually warm winter here so I almost believed it was summer when I read your comment. Until yesterday.. Yay! Rainy windstorms!...-_- I wish we had snow!

20 days with no reply... >_<
It's a conspiracy people in power don't want us talking so they're outing your power and giving me tons of homework...What malevolent iniquity! ..Like using two words that mean relatively the same thing. Anyway, I meant to reply weeks ago but something always came up. Sorry if I sound crazy or tired. I might be one but I'm definitely the other. ~_~

And I'm off!

Vivid red is a lot better than Senran Kagura....Plot wise...though that's not really saying much.. Though if you're in it for the fan-service Senran Kagura would be the one to stick with unless you're a lolicon which I don't think you are. I always hate the loli route in VNs but I'll get to that later.

That's a really good idea that I probably won't use...Berserk was on my watching list for about two years and I had only watched one episode, then suddenly I figured I'd give the second episode a chance and now I'm buying the manga volumes, watching the movies and drooling over the blue-rays...Most shows I remove from my list or drop are there because I really don't like something about it (Like a character that's absurdly ugly and annoying) or its just not funny when its supposed to be and funny where its not supposed to be. Basically if its really crap I watch it in English so I can do hw or play a mindlessly repetitive game and still be watching anime. And that's my best level grinding strategy.

Spoilering for shits & giggles:

"Remember when you had just started watching anime? It all felt so new, so awesome; had so many things to watch, every new anime was a different experience, all the masterpieces you still hadn't seen... With time that gets duller, and you start just "watching" anime, kinda enjoying it kinda just wasting your time, and once in a while a show will come that will make you remember those days, but only slightly..." - This is my life story. My obituary will probably read this. In other words I totally get this. Sorry to quote you but I couldn't think of any other way to show you that entirely understand what you said.

I'm only like an hour into to first game (time constraints) but I really like all of the characters. They fit their archetypes beautifully. The loli feels cute but not annoying which is really rare for me as I mentioned before. The Osana Najimi is just the right amount of deredere. I can't really categorize Meiya's character though. She doesn't really fit the description of an Ojou-sama heroine. Anyway, in games like this I usually go the main routes last so getting to the second game seems pretty far off at the moment. I generally go the sensei route first, then the quiet girl, then the tsundere, then the loli (for completion sake) and finally the main heroine route(s). Since the whole point of the first game is to choose either Meiya or Sumika, are the other routes any good or are they just filler until you've conquered one of the main ones. Most important Question: Please tell me Yuuko-sensei becomes a heroine at some point in the series? She's the perfect blend of iniquity and sensei-ish-ness for me.

Eh... Two hours later I'm done.. woo~! Now to take a shower, read a bit of a VN, and collapse from exhaustion...

LeopardTheGreat | 02-06-13, 1:54 PM
I'm being bored on an extreme scale. Not keeping up with anything when I want to even though I have the time. So that's unfortunate.

LeopardTheGreat | 02-06-13, 11:35 AM
Ssssssooooooo...

How's life?

HaJinNK | 02-01-13, 9:00 PM
I'm alive...Yay!

Happy new month! I did have fun reading, thank you. Would have replied half a month a go but I've been in hiding since I made positive comments about Vivid Red.. Fan-service haters are dangerous.

Anyway your list looks great.. wish I could get my watching list below 40 or at least below 60... This season is pretty good so far. Most of the shows I've gotten around to haven't disappointed me and Vivid Red has given me a whole new respect for women's workout short shorts. They look so comfy and sleek.

New Season Update Spoiler:

I'll definitely give chihayafuru a try once my watching list clears up a bit.

Tried to install or run muvluv and my computer threw a fit. I know a lot more about installing/running vns now then I did then, so if I wanted to I could probably figure it out. But I haven't found the proper motivation to try again. Sounds like you probably could give me a convincing argument. When you do, could you also tell me where to start? Heard great things about Muvluv Alternative but I like to start at the beginning of most game series. Is the first Muvluv necessary and/or worth playing before Alternative? In summation, I have heard of Muvluv but please feel free to mention it till I luv it too. Sorry bad pun..

Still probably not going to learn Spanish anytime soon. It's a useful language to know but I'm already learning two other languages and I've never really liked the sound of Romance Languages for some reason..

Please your English is at least as good Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! I'd give your English a 10 out of 10, but I don't want to be accused of hopping on any fanboy band-wagons.. Plus Bakemono might be a little better than your English, no offense.

Wish I already knew 100 kanji when I started learning Japanese.. I've learned quite a bit from anime like you did but reading Japanese seems almost impossible from what I can do right now. Thought I could understand spoken Japanese at a 2/10, not enough to not need subtitles but enough to get the general idea of what someone was saying, and then I went to Japan. I wandered around Akiba for hours on a pilgrimage to buy everything in sight and I couldn't buy from some stores because they kept their merchandise in locked glass cases, so you had to ask the clerks to get things for you and they didn't know single word of English. One guy gave me directions and all I could understand was "left". Fortunately the girls who worked at maid cafes were all mostly fluent.

Wow that's a lot of time, sarcasm and words.. Oh well it was fun. Don't feel obligated to respond right away or apologize for being late. My reply is late enough to be unforgivable! Zetsubou! My consistently late responses have left me in Zetsubou!

HaJinNK | 01-13-13, 7:17 PM
Sorry for the late reply but I wanted to give a thoughtful reply and last week was pretty stressful what with starting a new semester and lots of homework already. I don't mind long walls of text, so no worries there. Fair warning though, I tend to ask people a lot of questions if I find them interesting and my grammar/spelling might not be to great, I'll try to proof read what I wright if possible but I don't always have time.. Also I think this reply might end up being a huge wall of text, sorry in advance.

I think I have an idea of when you're being serious or not.. but I guess I might be wrong.. Oh well too late now. But I like SHAFT anime and I think you like SHAFT anime, plus you seem to know a lot about VNs so we are obviously destined to be friends.

Anyway...I've taken some time to watch some of the shows this season that are longer than 3 minutes..It's sad I still feel knee deep in last season and I don't think the world will rotate in reverse so I can finish it.

You gave me your opinions in a nice spoiler so I figured I'd do the same:

Summary: This season so far not counting sequels and shows I haven't seen yet, in order from best/most promising would be: MaoYuu, Kotoura-san, Sasami@ganbaranai and then Mondaiji. Though MaoYuu has the advantage of having two episodes out already it looks like it'll stay number one. I think Sasami and Mondaiji just need a few more episodes to see if they'll be great. Kotoura-san is absolutely recommendable, though I'm not sure it'll stay second when I start other shows.

Chihayafuru: I've heard a lot of good things but I was wondering if I could get your opinion on whether or not the first season is a must watch?

I guess I'll just have to wait for Sumaga since I can only read Hiragana and I rarely understand what I read. So if Japanese toddlers can't read Sumaga, then I probably can't. I'm already buried in VNs I haven't finished, so I can probably afford to wait.

Almost done...few more questions...

What are you working on now? What group are you with? Do you only translate VNs or anime too?

And Concluding Paragraph..

I have a few friends who speak Spanish as their first language but I assume their dialect is different. None of them can speak Japanese though. I envy you for being able to read/speak Japanese at that level, but it really makes me wonder how long it took you to learn both English and Japanese? Editing is for editors. Translating and editing seems a little excessive..

LeopardTheGreat | 01-11-13, 11:17 AM
I'll save you my summary of MaoYuu and simply say it's heading to a strong 8, which was my optimistic expectation.

ridojiri | 01-11-13, 3:24 AM
Thanks. that means an awful lot to me, though maybe thats being facetious. here is a link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pdkQY9SReU
its only seven minutes long if you feel inclined on watching at some point.
and by wandering off topic, you mean the references to... bill henson? i felt that was off topic but hopefully pointing to what i meant.
or did you mean the references to other non-japanese works on tohoku? because i feel that it really is quite notable that there is a lack of work on 3/11...
or something else?

i hope to keep writing reviews of unreviewed things, as per the club i am in, 'reviews for the unreviewed'.

again, thanks. and if there is something else you would in the future like to discuss, i absolutely love actual discussion on anime [opposed to best girl etc found in places like /a/]

LeopardTheGreat | 01-08-13, 1:15 PM
Mmm, I like the main, and the fact they don't just gift wrap her name to her in a plot device right away. Might be my interest in her psychological mindset.

LeopardTheGreat | 01-08-13, 12:25 PM
Basically Amnesia seems to be a reverse harem where the main character has amnesia but can't allow anyone else to know. She remembers nothing, an otherwordly spirit is stuck in her soul and since her memory loss is spirit-based, a hospital would only amplify the amnesia.

So yeah, if you don't notice the small things, it's a reverse harem shojo-type romance.
