Given the fact that you're the biggest Madoka fan I know of by name...how much are the Madoka movies a priority for you? For the past days I have been re-watching Madoka for the first time since it aired in 2011 because of Closetotaku's posts in the "Best of the 2000s" thread and taking what he said into account as I watch them (Oh God, it's so good...why didn't I re-watch sooner, there's a good chance it might finally be one of my all-time favorites ). Also, I have been taking a bigger part in the Madoka threads on 4chan. Apparity the new movies include some added scenes from what I have read (such as a rather interesting Graveyard scene with our beloved Homura IIRC) and that they took out some scenes like the
Also, what are your thoughts on the plans for more Madoka after the last movie airs? On the one hand, more Madoka...on the other I hope that they don't milk it the same way that GAINAX has been milking my beloved Evangelion. |

Things after volume uno
1) Shizuku looks just like Maka and it was weird the entire time. 2) A chicken is the worst pet idea ever because I hate those things 3) The pacing is actually pretty nice and I appreciate that they're getting to actual romance not only before the end, but by the end of the first volume. |

So of those two new shoujo manga that are getting anime, would you say that they'd be pretty good for me being interested in some more normal shoujo(over say, Basara) but not being filled with dumb things like an overabundance of crying pretty boys or other such ilk I associate with shoujo stuff?

I guess lighthearted might not be quite the right word, but fun maybe? It reminds me of a good action movie, though episode three also did have the most serious talk(though it was like a minute or two), but I guess I probably should've pegged this as something you wouldn't really get into anyways. Well, no matter.

I haven't seen the third episode yet (obviously), but does it really ever try and be that serious? I mean, the first two, while they aren't like gags, are pretty lighthearted gun fair, even for having a child soldier. I guess you wouldn't have seen it, but it reminds me to a certain degree (only with much less morally upright people) of the only live action show I really care about, Chuck, which is a pretty good mix of small-scale gun action and comedy. The show never really gave me a "this is serious" vibe at any point, especially compared to stuff like Stand Alone Complex. But whatevs, it's your choice.
As a side note, I hope to catch it this afternoon but do you think Hyouka would make good thread material? I wouldn't mind making some more threads, but I'd like to do them for shows I can follow at the same pace as everyone else, so at this point Hyouka and Jormungand are really the only ones I'd really get something out of for making a thread. |
