Oh, thanks for the recommendation. I'll watch Penguindrum.
Wow. I was listing my favorite studios before I read your comment, and we share almost exactly the same! I also like Madhouse, SHAFT, I.G., and ufotable because they produce extra-ordinary quality art.; and BONES and Brain Base because of FMA:B and Durarara!! too. IMO J.C. Staff sometimes make outstanding anime, but others are mediocre. I really loved Toradora!, HnG!, Kimi to Boku., and Special A; but I think their weak point is art and directing.
Don't you like KyoAni?
On the other hand, I haven't watched any Ghibli.. I once downloaded a dual-audio copy of Spirited Away, but that's a long time ago - my video player can't switch between languages and read subtitles, so I deleted it, thinking I downloaded an English Dub. Is it good?
I agree on White Fox. Steins;Gate is definitely top-tier. Though their art is quite dark, and some people are annoyed because of the sharp-pointed noses and chins, and the weird eyes.

Thankyou for your suggestion ^.^

Haven't watched Mawaru Penguindrum, but I plan to. I like artistic and symbolic stuff, so I'll probably watch it later. Is it good? Oh, there's an explanation? I'll google it too.
Yep, my classmates have dreams.. And I don't... I have rich classmates that get grades higher than they deserve.
What's your favorite studio?

Shiion-tan | 08-26-12, 8:00 AM
Ahaha, it's nothing. You always make my day when you reply to my comments XD You should think about yourself better, it's true! c:
My heart danced. Amano Akira? My favorite mangaka. Tomokazu Seki? One of the voice actors I admire. Urobuchi Gen? One of my favorite writers. In Psycho-Pass? Wait, wait, wait. Lemme search that trailer. Ah, that kind of sucks, I hate recaps.. And the last moment of Madoka's last episode where Homura is on that mysterious desert always boggled my mind. Why is she there? Why does she have wings? Why did she hear Madoka's voice? What's with those last words?
Hmm, you don't need to know this, but Philippines has, until this year 2012, 3 years of preschool, 6 years of elementary, 4 years of high school, and 4-5+ years of college (university). I'm in that 3rd year of high school. But this year, K-12 is implemented, and I still don't understand the changes we have to adapt.. Getting 1st place in our school is kind of easy. We're only 24+, and only 6+ of those students study hard and excel in the academic field. Though those six ARE really diligent, if not, naturally intellectual. 2 of those are super persevere, willing to review for tests even though it's late 3am. The rest can ace the tests without reviewing. And I'm in the middle- a lazy and not so smart girl. "Studying hard" isn't really important for the youth here. About 70% of my class are girls that prefer facebook and guys that are video game fanatics. Oh, I see.. Here one doesn't need to study that hard, teachers can be bribed. x___x Haha, we're both in a pinch. I'm sure you can do it!

Shiion-tan | 08-25-12, 7:37 AM
Romance, drama, and action? That's totally my type. I'm planning to pick up Shirokuma Cafe again. Hoho, I'm jealous that your school hasn't started yet. 'Twas worth it, Summer 2012 was pretty good. XD I feel the same. I don't like those who think they're edgy and tasteful, pushing their opinions to everyone else, hating those who love the show they don't. Glad to hear your thoughts. I agree that SAO's characters are quite cliche, the story is somewhat nonexistent, but there's something about it I like.
Psycho-Pass is still an enigma, we only know that it's a drama about guns written by Urobuchi Gen, but it's guaranteed to be promising. K looks interesting too. I hope Little Busters will be as good as CLANNAD, and Robotics;Notes will be deserving to be Steins;Gate's [kind of] sequel. Sukitte Iinayo and Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun look like good shoujo anime too. And is Madoka Movie 1 really a recap? I hope not. I wish October will come sooner.
I'm in 3rd year high school (well, in the Philippines), and that's maybe equal to 8th or 9th grade. But I'm in a private non-sectarian school where teachers are all newbies. It's possible that my classmate who's IQ is very superior is way smarter than them. They don't discuss well but instead give SUPER difficult and unreasonable tests and projects. I don't know if I can do as great as I did last year, when I placed first. But this year is different, contests, tests, and projects are simultaneous. I hope I'll survive. How about you? Let's do our best!

Hm. A recommendation from itsvero. I'll put Phantom on the top of my to-download list, after Gintama and Death Note. Haha, can't wait to watch it.
I agree! Their relationship is awkward. I don't think that F/SN is THAT bad, it's just F/Z is THAT great. :)) If ufotable animated F/SN, I think it'll be good.
Shirokuma Cafe is like another Durarara!! parallel universe. I dropped it 'cause Spring 2012 made me watch too much I can handle. And not only Fukuyama Jun sounds cute, Kamiya Hiroshi too! The VA cast is so perfect. Daisuke Ono and Nakamura Yuuichi are there too.
Haha, so glad to hear that. Actually, I always see you in the forums, and I have admired how cool you are for a long time. I definitely don't regret commenting your favorite anime.

Luxanna | 08-23-12, 7:15 PM
Yet you've somehow managed to accumulate over 19,000 anime list views. Now, how does that work?

To be honest, I've grown to hate basically all types of Math, but this is probably because I haven't had a single decent Math professor since the start of my university career. They're either new to teaching or have absolutely no idea what they're doing. Usually, it's both at the same time.

Cognitive science basically forces you to go into research, which, trust me, isn't an easy path. Unless you're extremely passionate about spending the rest of your life writing papers and desperately trying to get grants from the government, I wouldn't recommend it.

Well, it's great to leave your options open, you know? Apply to as many universities as you can; that way, you'll have plenty of choices to pick from.

Did he now? Well, that's pretty impressive, then. And I swear I've heard the name Makoto Shinkai before. What else has he made?

Luxanna | 08-23-12, 7:13 AM
Really? You're probably the third or fourth Chinese person that I've met on here. I've met some people who are half or part Chinese as well. Look more carefully, haha.

Fair enough, large as it is, I suppose the scientific field just isn't for everyone. I hate Math as well, high five! Stereotype crushing ftw!

If you're going into IT design and technology, doesn't that mean you'll need some math along the way? You'll at least need the basic calculus/stats in university; there's no way you can get away from those courses, lol. I have a friend who's in Cognitive Science as well, and she tells me that it's a pretty neat major. The great thing about it is that gives you have flexibility in terms of what field you want to focus on. If you don't like the scientific aspect of it, you can always take the mathematical or logical/computer science route.

Anything related to technology at McGill would definitely be put in the Faculty of Science, which unfortunately means that you'll probably need Physics 11 as a prerequisite. Other than computer science, there's also software engineering, but that's more or less the same thing, lol.

Bad art and animation? And what do you mean by they were done by the same guy who did all the other stuff? xD

I haven't actually watched it yet, so I wouldn't be able to tell you my opinion on it. :P

Luxanna | 08-22-12, 11:06 AM
Haha, I just noticed that "Voices of a Distant Star" is the most recent update on both of our lists. How did you like it?

Luxanna | 08-22-12, 11:01 AM
I knew it. Well, that's mainly because I took a look at your profile after posting my comment, but that's besides the point.

What am I? WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?

Jokes aside, I am part of your brethren, the descendants of the dragon (as that old Chinese song says).

So I guess you don't have the pre-reqs for any of the science majors, huh? Why didn't you take Physics 11, lol? I guess you're not really into Science? So what's your primary career choice? And yeah, McGill doesn't have a Faculty of Education, although I'm not sure how it ranks with respect to the other Canadian schools.

Luxanna | 08-22-12, 10:45 AM
ALL THE BETTER TO TALK TO YOU WITH~
Little Red Riding Hood reference aside...

Madoka #1 animu in the world!!!!!!!1111

Nice guess, haha. I am indeed attending McGill. Asians always go for the prestige, you know? I'm going to make an inference based on your location of Vancouver as well. Are you Asian? :P

Cool beans, which program are you applying to?

Luxanna | 08-22-12, 9:38 AM
What great taste in anime you have.

Shiion-tan | 08-21-12, 3:50 AM
Speaking of Urobuchi Gen, I've only watched Madoka Magica and Fate/Zero but he's one of my favorite writers too, aside from Narita Ryohgo and NisiOisiN. Woah, Psycho-pass sounds good! A drama that will air in noitamina written by Urobuchi, I'm definitely going to anticipate for this October.
Until now I can't believed he voiced Daru. Haha, we forgot about Shirou/Saber. Though I don't ship that one. Natalia is definitely one of the coolest girls in F/Z. One thing's for sure, almost every episodes of Fate/Zero is amazing.
Romi Paku's really flexible, no? MiyaMamo too. And I love those three too! Nakamura Yuuichi's voice is so manly, Saitou Chiwa can play both the sexy ladies and cute girls, and Fukuyama Jun... I love him. My heart skips a beat everytime I hear his voice. When he played Lelouch, he's awesome; hilarious as Aoi Toori, and ultra cute as Panda. NAKATA JOUJI? I'm so envious!
Hmm.. what do you want to chat about next? To be blunt, I enjoy talking to you. XD And oh, I have school tomorrow, see you next week!

Shiion-tan | 08-20-12, 10:03 PM
I need to.. listen to the Drama CD... He's one hell of a protagonist. I love Fate/Zero's drama, it's not forced. Kiritsugu and Irisviel's is one of the greatest love stories ever told. Yeah, Tomokazu Seki's really good. I recognized his voice when I heard Gilgamesh and Agata (SKET Dance), but I didn't know until I checked that he voiced Hashida Itaru (Steins;Gate). Rider is the bro-est servant. His death is really dramatic. I love how Lancer plays fair. Because of that, I ship Lancer/Saber. Well Gilgamesh/Saber is good too.
Urobuchi Gen is definitely a great writer. I loved the parts when Kiritsugu's past is revealed. And Kirei vs Kiritsugu is pure epic. What's your favorite episode? Next time I'd love to talk about voice actors with you. c:

Veronin | 08-20-12, 8:24 PM
Haha. I can't honestly remember how I came up with it, but it's been my online moniker since waaay back, probably around 2005. I hope it's not too confusing though, but then again all the pictures and avatars and what not of girls might lead others to that impression too.

Shiion-tan | 08-20-12, 4:50 AM
Ahaha. The moment he cried in the rain when he lost is hilarious and at the same time dramatic. He's one of the cutest male tsundere characters I know.
BUT FATE/ZERO'S CHARACTERS ARE TOOOOO LOVABLE! Everyone's well portrayed and unique. It's really hard to choose. Hmm.. Probably Gilgamesh. From the start, I believed that he'll win. And Kirei makes a good antagonist. As good as Kiritsugu makes a good protagonist. BUT I CAN'T CHOOSE! I'll rewatch then decide. How about you? XD

Shiion-tan | 08-18-12, 8:58 PM
I feel the same! Haha, don't worry, your list is close to perfection. It's not cluttered and the color scheme is really nice. Thanks :)
Kuroko no Basket is awesome. Imo too it's the best sports anime. I hate sports and the genre, but it's really really good. I definitely regret that I didn't pick it up earlier. A cool character like Kuroko for a shonen protagonist is quite unique for me. I'm tired of wimpy weaklings or overpowered arrogant boys. I like Kuroko and Hyuuga. And for some reason, I love Midorima 'cause he's the funniest and most handsome character imho and he's voiced by Daisuke Ono. How about you?

nnangle | 08-18-12, 5:32 PM
So pretty!! <3
Can you tell me where your PP is from?

Also high5 for high compatibility! ^^

First time i see someone taking the time to comment on each specific anime on their list, especially someone with such a huge one such as yours! :3

Shiion-tan | 08-18-12, 6:47 AM
And your comment also made my day. Your taste is very refined, I'm going to watch more anime on your list. And did I forget to mention that your list is lovely too? I really admire you. I LOVE YOU TOO :">

To answer your quest in Hyouka #17 discussion, why Mayaka was crying after her senpai left.

Her senpai work in collaboration in "A corpse by evening" as the artist. Her friend the writer, was not interested in manga writing, but agreed to write this time for the festival. The senpai after reading halfway, knew her friends talents, far suppress her (similar to Satoshi & Oreki relationship).

A few episodes ago, Mayaka made a verbal agreement to bring in "A corpse by evening", to prove to her senpai, but found another manga work in her room. This manga work was the senpai she wanted to prove too (she did not know at the time). Mayaka herself said this manga work was beneath "A corpse by evening".

Going back to the 2nd paragraph, this is why Mayaka cried and had problems with the senpai.

In all, it wasn't Mayaka fault at all, she didn't know till episode 17 and the cat symbol her senpai left behind.

BTW- I see you have not read any manga. Why don't you give Ichigo 100% a try. :)
