An Okonomiyaki is one of those things that can have ALL KINDS OF THINGS mixed in. The base is sort of like a pancake batter, but then various types of vegetables and meats and other things are added in depending upon taste. Now, the problem was their menu was all Japanese and there were no pictures. My spoken Japanese and their English weren't good enough to really understand most of what they were telling me were in each of the different selections. After bouncing back and forth with my E/J dictionary and something one of them had on a smart phone I finally asked one of the young ladies (in Japaneses) to make me whichever one was her personal favorite. Her eyes lit up and 15 minutes later what I got was in that picture. I think there was cabbage, pork and maybe onion and mushrooms, but there were also a few bits I couldn't identify. By the time I was actually eating it we had moved onto other topics to talk about so I never got around to asking them what all I was eating :)

Yeah, I even dropped Naruto Shippuuden completely after I heard about the fillers. Just don't feel like wasting my time on it when there are countless better stuff out there to spend my time on, lol.

Ah, then perhaps I will start it after I get through MLA, since that's likely going to be as serious as a VN can get.

Sorry for hear that man. I hope you are recovering, if not already recovered. I tend to get sick during season shifts myself. It'd be the worst time of the year to get sick now though, since final exams are just around the corner XD. Well, I hope you'll enjoy MLA so that afterwards, you can give me more motivation to read it. :D

Oh I can't agree more with you. The serious parts dragged down R;N significantly for me [particularly the shitty, cliche antagonist]. Initially, I had predicted that R;N will end up as a 7/10 for me, but after seeing the ending, I felt generous to even give it a 6/10. Had Frau not been there, it'd have certainly ended in the 5 range (likely a 5.5/10). And yeah, I heard the visual novel for R;N is considerably weaker than both S;G and C;H. So in that sense, it's not the fault of the adaptation but rather the source material itself. C;H, on the other hand, has a good source but a screwed up adaptation. Props to S;G for excelling as both anime and VN. :D

Hmm, I personally didn't enjoy K-On. I thought it's below average as a SoL, though that's probably attributed to my lack of appreciation for pure moe shows in general. I only like moe shows when there's a good balance of comedy and drama, or in some cases, shows with outstanding comedy (e.g. TMoSH). But to be fair, comedy is a very subjective thing, so I would not say that K-On isn't a funny show. It's just not the right show for me. Oh one more thing, I always place objectivity behind subjectivity when choosing which anime to watch, since I find some objectively "great" shows have little quirks to them. Mononoke is a good example of that. The stories are well written, so it's definitely a good show. But the problem is that I failed to relate to any of them, not to mention that the characters have very little to be remembered for. It's like watching a play you don't particularly care about. The enjoyment factor simply wasn't there.

I did watch Railgun and I loved Misaka Mikoto. That is the reason I want to start up Index to see more of her and Accelerator looks like he'd be a great character too. I honestly didn't like Touma much in Railgun. I doubt that he's any better in Index though. Is Mikoto as prominent in Index as she was in Railgun? If so that and Accelerator would be my reason for watching the show.

Nope. I don't intend to buy them. I'll just burn the ISO's on to a DVD and play them.

Girl Friends was an incredibly sweet Shoujo-ai manga. I really hope for an anime adaptation. Also the last chapter could have provided a slightly better ending. Don't you agree? All said and done I really enjoyed it.

So they're PS2 games? I think I can play them on my PS2 itself then. It shouldn't be a problem. I can play them on my PC too. I'll see what I can do. Are they good?

Oh! I see. Since you suggested it to me, I too downloaded .hack sign and Roots. I'll probably watch it in June since I have examinations coming up in May.

Well, if you wait till you can read Japanese...it will probably take several years of daily practice to get to that point. For the most part, I was able to do just fine with a basic grasp of speaking the language - if I couldn't read something I simply asked somebody. On the other hand, if your intent is to go to one of the conventions, then yes you'd probably need to be able to read.

other than changing planes at the airport, I didn't go anywhere near Tokyo. I was after mostly less traveled places - Kyoto and Osaka were less than half of my trip. But, it all depends upon what you want to do!
