Sorry for the KioAni part, that was an oversight from me and I had edited it in my post
Yeah, I would love to see them diversifying their anime. I still remember the time they did Full Mental Panic. What a blast! Haruhi and Hyouka are fine as well. However, stuffs like Chu2 or even Clannad feel too repetitive. Urobochi and KyoAni is an interesting combo. As of now, I don't think they are incompatible with each other. However, the combination result will produce unexpected outcomes, I will eagerly await for that. Uro can definitely make use of KyoAni's trademark small conversation wittiness, which I think Uro still lacks
Regarding Sunrise, it is one of the oldest anime studios with a long history. They have survived until now by diversifying their works. I guess you are new to Sunrise. Yes they are famous for Mecha, but let's look at many other anime: Cowboy Beebob, Inuyasha, Mai-Hime, Tiger and Bunny, Gintama, Danshin Koukousei, City Hunter, Yakitate!! Japan, Ranma 1/2, Bakumatsu, Love Live! That is a complete package from Western sci-fi, Shounen folk-lore, Harem comedy, Slapstick comedy, Slice of Life, Detective Crime, Food, Martial Arts, Samurai, Musics.... The most diversified collection I have ever seen! Perhaps, the only one left is hentai. At the moment, they are working on 6 different anime across genres!
So yea, I think KyoAni should take this chance to renew themselves. I know it's difficult to change since the old methods are still working. However, sooner or later, people will get bored of this style. They need to adapt and be creative to survive

Yo, sorry for the late reply dude, I've been swamped by school work in the past few days, lol.
I catch your drift. It might work out better that way anyway seeing how I usually don't marathon anime, unless there is something in it that enthralls me. The reason I even considered marathoning it is because I really wanted to catch up to the current season, being more than 200 episodes behind is a little discouraging. XD
If Chisato really is the most likable heroine in the VN, then the anime must have screwed up big time, because no matter how I try to sympathize with her character, something just feels off about her. If I had to pick two favorite heroines, they would be Aomi and Mifuyu. Aomi, to me, is the most sympathetic character given her poor circumstances. I feel that she needs someone to take care of her --- someone to stay by her side, more than any other heroine in the story. As for Mifuyu, I can't help but feel bad for her seeing as she has always loved the protagonist but has selflessly given up on confessing her feelings to him, all because she wants her best friend, Chisato, to be the one happy.
I did kind of enjoy the Anastasia-centered episodes more than the others, as her random, over-the-top comments tend to spur amusing moments. Other than that, I feel like it's just another generic harem with little flair going for it (objectively that is, it may very well be subjectively enjoyable for some people).
I have not, but I'll check out a few of their videos when I feel like it. Thanks for sharing. :)
I know right. It also doesn't help how all four chapters in Volume 2 are lengthy. Normally, I wouldn't mind this, but it's a different story this time because I already know what to expect, and hence, the experience is anything but a thrilling one. On the bright side, I do want to ascertain the quality of Volume 5, especially since I heard from a few LN readers that the heroine in GGO is a more likable character than Asuna. Hearing this at least gives me some motivation in toughing out the next 2 (boring) Volumes. :p
I see. Well, I personally was never able to figure out that guy's criteria for scoring his anime. I recall mdz once asked him why he likes Angel Beats so much, when it's riddled with a fair amount of deux ex that he seems to abhor, to which he never gave a proper response to (he [conveniently] came to the conclusion that he was being attacked by a SAO fanboy who never intended to have an intelligent conversation in the first place). To this day, I have yet to meet another critic with this kind of mentality. He claims to be an objective reviewer, yet I have seen a vast number of shows he rated low due to subjective distaste. If he really is as objective as he claims, then there should be no reason he would ever give Angel Beats a 9/10, given the obvious flaws it possesses (e.g. lack of character development on most of the side characters, rushed ending, deux ex, etc). I mean, sure, it's ridiculously enjoyable, but rating it based entirely on its merits (which Draconis claims to be doing), it certainly doesn't deserve a 9/10 imo. Sorry if this comes off as pointless rant. I don't really have anything against him as a person, it's just that I strongly question his claim to be truly objective.
Well, I've only completed 2 out of the 4 available routes, so it's probably inaccurate to give an overall assessment just yet (especially considering this is one of those VNs where the true route is leagues above the other routes, according to my sources anyway). But based on what I have read, I would say it's very good so far. The plot can be a bit slow and boring at the beginning, and there is a lot of info dump during the common arc, but once you get into a heroine's route, the drama quickly picks up and shit starts to get real. Best of all, not only are the good endings extremely emotional, but some of the bad endings are also incredibly touching, unlike most bad endings in VNs (my claim here may be a shot in the dark, considering I've only finished 2 VNs at this point, lol). I really look forward to the true route, as it could very well blow me out of the water when everything comes together in the end.
Ah, take your time and just play whatever you want to play the most first. My VN wishlist is still short, but that's only because I doubt I will have the time to play that many VNs in the first place. The highest priority on my list right now is Sharin no Kuni, followed by the Muv Luv series. I was originally going to read the latter series first, but then decided that finishing a shorter popular title may be a smarter choice.

It's not really like that lol, its more how it looks at other people and the decisions he makes, its really upsetting its hard to describe without spoiling it.
example, imagine dating someone who wasn't really into it, but was slowly opening up, and you were head over heels, and when this girl finally opens up to you, you shun her kindness and cheat on her, then after you knock another girl up, you run to the other, while also sleezing around.
Basically just doing w/e is in ur best interests and not thinking before you act, and only thinking of yourself, while everyone around you is trying their best.
Just an example.

Awakening has taken up 95% of my free time lately. I just can't stop!
Well, 2012 shouldn't have any bearing on 2013 unless you mean that its dryness makes me less-inclined to keep watching, which it kind of did, so...yeah. Motivation is such an aggravation indeed.
VEEbee | 03-17-13, 6:19 PM
School days huh, well it is a good watch, but I was struggling to finish it, quite literally I wanted the ending spoiled quite bad, it was just so hard to get through, because the MC just really annoys you.
I mean REALLY annoys you, I'm sure you have seen the name thrown around here on the forums for some time when its worst MC or something along those lines, and its quite accurate..
The art and everything is beautiful, its a well put together anime, and the MC did his job the intention of the anime and it delivered, but gosh did it annoy the view (unless you are into that kind of shit and get off of it)
Good show, but it will probably drive you nuts unless you are an abuser. :D

Hehe its ok I generally try to talk to all my friends who have similar interests which you do.
With the friends bug though It's hard to go through my friends list which says none, so I just really do it thru posting on walls.
Have you got any shows I've watched you are thinking of watching ? I can do the same once I've finished fate stay.
Akkahana | 03-16-13, 10:36 PM
Ahhh, lucky!! I don't like to spoil myself since I most likely won't watch/finish the anime after that, but I like to know what happens. And so,that's why I look at those spoilers. x)
I'm...okay with them? They're not my personal favorites though. >< From what I've heard,a lot of them have this thing that makes it really similar to each other.
OHOHO Do you think you can beat me? I'm the queen of procrastination and laziness! 8D /slapped Not really, but the same goes for me lol.
