Hm, wenn ich was benennen müsste, was mich an Usagi Drop gestört hat, dann, dass es mir dafür, dass es ein so realistischer Anime ist, vielleicht doch ein bisschen zu leichtherzig und sorglos war. Aber es ist nicht wirklich so, dass mich irgendwas daran gestört hätte, sondern eher so, dass es umgekehrt auch wenig gab, was mich jetzt wirklich überzeugt hätte. Ich habs gern geschaut, aber es ist für mich nichts, was ich irgendwann nochmal sehen muss :|
Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob ich Gurren Lagann wirklich als shounen bezeichnen würde. Klar, die Klischees sind alle da, aber gleichzeitig wird alles wiederum so dermaßen überzeichnet, dass es einer Parodie doch schon sehr, sehr nahe kommt. Ich würde es jetzt aber auch nicht einfach ohne zu zögern als Parodie bezeichnen wollen, weil es letztendlich dem Zuschauer überlassen bliebt, wie ernst er das ganze nimmt. Um deine Frage zu beantworten... jein. Es braucht zwar schon ein paar Episoden, um sich "warmzulaufen", aber es wird nicht besser in der Hinsicht, dass es weniger "shounen" würde, es wird einfach immer größenwahnsinniger und verrückter. |

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is one. Magical Girl series often give a sense of empowerment to their heroines and PMMM does anything but.

Well, Reinhard eventually meets his matches and Yang...yeah, a lot of people will admit to his perfection. And it's not a stretch to see how the corrupted politicians got to where they are since we usually see them saying the right things; guys like Job Truniht show how bad a Democracy can get when nobody cares to vote. I don't see how the premise is sloppy though. The battles can be unimaginative since it treats space like another sea instead of space and some factions are never fully explained. The overall story is as basic it gets; it's the hiccup in details you're probably thinking of as sloppy. What I'm saying is that the more you subvert something the more cliche the subversion becomes. What's unexpected becomes normal and what's normal becomes unexpected. |

I'm going to assume the aversion toward the Prussian names has something to do with where you live but otherwise there's nothing inauthentic about the show. The scorched-Earth strategy, questions of competency determining the better form of government instead of one automatically being better than the other, the political scandals within the Empire and Republic's own factions, third parties trying to take advantage of the war; the depth in this show subtly meshes with the story but the series doesn't hinge on the audience thinking since it doesn't drag out any issues and presents the story as straightforward as possible. To do this consistently for 110 episodes is a feat in itself.
The identifiable villains are part of the straightforward storytelling. It's refreshing since anime has a way of making subversions between looks and personality. And the antagonists aren't stupid so much as the heroes are just that much better. On that note, a lot of the characters who aren't in the background and are the "heroes" end up fighting each other and the definition of antagonist becomes a case of which faction you're siding with if any at all. You're correct in implying Legend of the Galactic Heroes can be an acquired taste though. /LotGH fagging activated. |

Consistency is their official explanation for using using the Japanese names. Except this doesn't make any sense because MAL has functioned for this many years with the popular titles.

Lol. Every title of your favorite anime except for Spice and Wolf is essentially unaffected by the recent weaboonization since they already had Japanese names. I'm surprised RESERvoir CHRoNiCLE hasn't become RESERvoir GAiDeN yet. :P

In der Favoritenliste wirds wohl eher nicht landen, aber Samurai Champloo gefällt mir soweit recht gut. |

Seems there's a new Seitokai Yakuindomo OVA though, and the current season is not half bad, really. I'm watching several of them. |

Deine Favoriten stehen alle schon in der PTW - die sollte ich zwar vielleicht mal ausmisten, weil sie langsam erschreckend lang wird, aber da laufen ganz andere Sachen Gefahr, rauszufliegen.
Zwischendurch wollte ich TTGL mal eine 10 geben, aber da war im Nachhinein doch zu viel, was mich gestört hat. Gerade im Vergleich zu deiner Liste bin ich auch eigentlich nicht allzu geizig mit den Punkten, aber bevor ich irgendwas mit dem Label "Masterpiece" versehe, passe ich schon auf :D |

Puh... Es stand zwar schon etwas länger auf meiner PTW-Liste (wo es, glaube ich, gelandet ist, nachdem ich es hier unter den Top Anime entdeckt habe), aber es bei diversen Leuten als Favorit gelistet zu sehen, hat dann letztendlich schon irgendwo den Ausschlag gegeben, es tatsächlich zu schauen - sagen wir jain ;)
Und wenn ich dann irgendwann mal mehr gesehen habe, kommt ja vielleicht noch die ein oder anderen 10 dazu. Hoffentlich. |

Du hast den Thread gesehen, den ich aufgemacht habe, oder? So allgemein, wie der gehalten war, hätte ich jetzt gar nicht damit gerechnet, dass sich tatsächlich jemand auf meinem Profil nach den Reviews umschaut.
Aber abgesehen davon, vielleicht endlich mal zu verstehen, warum so viele (aus meiner Sicht) richtig gut geschriebene Reviews immer noch verhältnismäßig schlecht bewertet sind, war es natürlich auch irgendwo meine Absicht, zu sehen, wie ich das selbst in Zukunft vielleicht besser machen kann... Insofern ist es schön, so eine ausführliche Rückmeldung zu bekommen! Zumal du dir Mühe gegeben hast, deine Kritik so zu begründen, dass sie für mich gut nachvollziehbar ist. Gerade, wie extrem vage der zitierte Absatz eigentlich ist, war mir so vorher nicht bewusst. Und ja, die Serie ist schon ziemlich eindeutig dem 'josei' Label zuordenbar... Wobei ich beim Lesen der Diskussionthreads zu den einzelnen Folgen jetzt nicht unbedingt das Gefühl hatte, dass es tatsächlich überwiegend von Mädels geschaut wird. Die Charaktere scheinen also immerhin nicht ganz so unrealistisch zu sein, dass es die Serie für männliche Zuschauer komplett ruiniert ;) Aber bevor ich hier jetzt eine Riesentextwand auf deinem Profil hinterlasse, bedanke ich mich einfach :) |

Meh, my only complaints about the movie and the OVAs were that Tohko and Konoha's relationship wasn't shown growing in "real-time.". I'm not sure how much of a problem it is though since the dynamic was just so damn believable and nearly every possible detail was answered casually throughout the movie.
I actually watched a Samurai Champloo when it aired on [as]. Unfortunately it was also competing with two other "Red Oni Blue Oni" shows in Naruto and s-CRY-ed. That said my tastes have improved changed since then though I'd still be watching it for Mugen and Jin. |

Well, I sure as Hell wouldn't have enjoyed Bungaku Shoujo as much as I did without the OVA's providing any groundwork.
