I watched the anime first, love it. I've made it pretty far in the manga, and after the great "Golden Age / Band of the Hawk" arc which the anime was based on, to me it didn't really go anywhere. I don't care for the baby demon, crazy Caska, Magical witches, monsters of the week, etc, lets wrap up the main revenge plot already. Just my take on it, I know most dig it.

And hey, I recommend Bastard!!: Heavy Metal Dark Fantasy, oh yes.
