There isn't anything they can do since it was made optional, not mandatory. It was really a half-assed solution by the administration because they didn’t want to put in the extra work to extend the semester. Oh well. It’s over now so I just gotta hope it doesn’t happen again while I’m still here. =P

I know. I dunno why they thought that was the best idea but both the students and teachers thought it was dumb. Just about everyone I talked to about it wasn't gonna do it.

Norman87 | 05-03-13, 5:21 PM
Nope, in fact they're not going to extend the end of the semester at all. Instead the school administration decided to leave the campuses open longer the last few weekends so teachers can have make-up classes Saturday and Sunday evenings. As if that's gonna happen... <_<

Yeah, that’s true. But the amount of classes that have been cancelled is getting pretty crazy now. My campus is still open so I didn’t miss any this week, but the main campus is just opening back up tomorrow. Maybe there’s not much more that the school could have done to get it open faster, but I’d be upset if that many of my classes were cancelled (and after several snows days this semester too).

I see. I didn't have to deal with any flooding in my apartment. (Of course I live on the 6th floor, so if I did that would really be something. =P) The basement of my building was spared too, but a few other ones in the same complex did have some flooding. Overall my area got off lightly compared to some other places.

My classes were canceled for Thursday though, and the Des Plaines campus for my college doesn't open again until Tuesday. Not surprising since it's close to the Des Plaines River.

I see. That must be exhausting, but at least health is something worth working for.

Did you get hit by any of the flooding today? It's gotten really bad in some places. D:

I've been pretty good. I'm down to a little less than a month left in this semester but I'm well ahead in some of my classes so I've had a little more time for relaxation. :D How about you?

Norman87 | 03-24-13, 4:45 PM
Happy birthday! :D

Norman87 | 01-15-13, 7:35 PM
Yeah, I'm fine now. Thankfully it didn't last too long.

Norman87 | 01-10-13, 11:51 AM
Same here. I was actually sick, but I probably wouldn't have gone out and done much, anyways. XD

Norman87 | 01-06-13, 11:51 AM
Happy new year! Do anything exciting for new year's?

Norman87 | 12-16-12, 11:16 AM
That's true. It's hard to beat many Americans at being jerks. XD

Norman87 | 12-11-12, 9:49 PM
Exactly. Or when I learn a bunch of people's names in a short time span, I rarely remember more than a few of them. >_>

Oh yeah, that sucks. =[ You'd think you'd get credit for actually trying to learn another language (unlike a lot of Americans who just expect everyone to learn English) but I guess not.

Norman87 | 11-30-12, 5:58 PM
Ah, I see. It must help a lot that you can speak in German with family.

I'd have to look up words to fully order in Russian. Maybe I will some time though. XD

Yeah I don't normally watch that much per season anymore. But there were a lot of shows I wanted to see between new seasons of previous favorites and adaptations that I had been looking forward to. Oddly enough, character names are usually the first thing I forget when it's been a while since I watched something. I can remember everything else but the names always escape me.

Norman87 | 11-26-12, 6:38 PM
I see. I've actually been thinking about trying to pick German back up myself. I took it years ago but I don't remember much anymore. Any recommendations on free sites/tools I could use for re-learning German? What are you using?

There's actually a Russian deli right near my college. I haven't been in there, though. Supposedly the people who run it don't know much, if any, English, and I don't think I know enough Russian yet for a conversation to go well.

I've been watching quite a few anime this season. Enough that it's been hard to keep up. XD I may just put them all on hold until the semester is over. But from the one's I've watched Chuunibyou, Little Busters, Robotics;Notes, and Hidamari Sketch season 4 have all been good so far.

Norman87 | 11-11-12, 11:36 AM
For classes next semester, I definitely wanna take the second parts of the Russian and English classes I'm taking now. I'd also like to add a math class to replace astronomy, but I still have to study for and take the math placement test...

Which languages are you taking now? Weren't you learning (or wanting to learn) Korean?

Norman87 | 11-08-12, 8:08 PM
Hello! I've been busy, but otherwise not too bad. Hard to believe I'm already down to a little over a month before this semester is over. o:

How about you?

Judging by your review on princess tutu, i have to say that princess tutu on tv had 38 episodes and the dvd had 24 episodes because the tv had to be split, so yeah

QuirkyIceHeart | 08-19-12, 3:28 PM
I try to avoid dropping stuff too xD I'm much looser with it now, but yeah.
I really liked it. The effects could have been better, and Light gave me a completely different impression, but it was pretty fun to watch.

QuirkyIceHeart | 08-19-12, 9:29 AM
Ah, could be. I recently just watched the first liveaction movie... I still like the series, but I've probably had less time to have it wear off xD
