I'd imagine $250 a week would be pretty easy, but who knows.

Yeah I only buy a few brand new games a year thesedays and don't regret it a bit. Got out of hand several years back with my first full time job and I regret like half my 360 collection, at the same time I can't remember the last time in my life when I traded in a game, because that's utterly not worth it in my eyes at all. Get $5 back, no wait store credit, and see it on shelves the next day for $40 used!

I'll probably be more selective in my console pick next gen. So far the PS4 is sounding totally awesome to me. XBL is never worth it to me, and I can access games online and any programs I'd want to use on my PS3 for less than a damn penny. The next PS controller looks more ideal for FPS's for me, so I'm curious to see how it feels with those... if it's good then I"m golden. I haven't been hooked on any online game that much since CoD4 or Bad Company 2, so whatever, I don't really care if I have almost nobody on my PSN list compared to my 360 one, where half my list is probably people I don't even know.

Yeah I'm not sure about dual booting with a Mac OS, but people definitely do it with Linux all the time. That's a pretty solid idea if you have multiple drives, if anything were to ever happen to Windows, you could boot up into Linux just fine and try to fix it from there.

I have been Winamp exclusive for like 10 some years now probably. It gets the job done, I'm not into playlist/library crap and just play things by the folder, so yeah I stick with Winamp heh. I hate iTunes a lot, takes freaking forever to organize stuff. Gotta use it whenever I want new stuff on my iPod though...

Added you!

And I haven't played that game before. I play mostly FPS games on PC lol. But now that I have Steam I'm gonna try to widen my PC horizons. I need to buy a new gamepad.

He is Dot Pixis from shingeki no kyojin , but let me tell you from now he is just a support character so far , I choose him for the profile pic because he looks like a big shot though . But I do recommend the manga and the recent anime :)

The money I put into this computer should have gone into a better car someday myself, but yeah ... it happens. lol

Glad to help, 4TB should certainly keep you busy. But I have to laugh and say all you're doing is fixing a problem while creating another, I am full proof of what you're planning to do with the download sprees, lol. Still got anime from years back I need to get too. But oh well, it's a double edged sword, sometimes randomly picking something out will surprise you and be perfect, then other times I just hate looking at the onslaught of junk I have downloaded haha. But yeah it's nice having a library. I've never really liked deleting stuff myself, but I'll definitely do it with anime thesedays if it's like in the 7 range for me, or something I don't plan on watching again. I also sometimes kick movies to the curb since HD rips thesedays can be like 5GB+ or something, that really adds up.

A $2000 rig a year or two from now would probably be like combining the PS4 and next Xbox together maybe even with a PS3/360 fused in there, lmao. That will be insane for sure. I dropped $900 on this and it already seems a bit future proof for a few years probably, so it's funny to think how crazy it would have been if I doubled my budget.

One thing to consider is that overkilling it on ram probably isn't even worth it, I think 16 is the ideal max or maybe even overkill itself, but yeah most software and applications out there from what I hear off and on don't even make use of much ram beyond that. But things could change in a year or two, so who knows. It'll be cool the day SSD's become the norm and maybe we'll get stuff like BD burners as cheap as CDR's, that'll be awesome, ~40GB a disc.

Just don't let anyone try to convince you that Mac's never crash, it happened all the time in my game design class back in high school lol. Ever crash on you? I'm not really a fan, but no arguing they're good for art related stuff and music. But yeah... Steam has made a lot of effort to add support for Mac, but yeah Windows is still the way to go if you want full access gaming. And it's probably obvious, but if you can somehow stick to Win7 in the near future then go with that and avoid Win8, lol.

KTKore | 05-11-13, 9:35 PM
Yeah definitely. I don't like the whole all digital thing, but it's the logical path for things to take at this point.

Manuals have become a thing of the past because most games put tedious tutorials at the beginning of the game which basically fucking spoon feed you while holding your hand through everything. I fucking hate that shit. "PRESS RIGHT TO GO RIGHT" Well no shit!

I love Steam. It's amazing.

Echelon | 05-11-13, 8:43 PM
This computer is a beast, haha. Didn't expect it to be this good. Crysis 3 defaulted to Very High across the board, maxed out Bioshock Infinite, could do Far Cry 3 on Ultra, so yeah it's good stuff. I just put in 3 more fans so it's got a lot of air flow, then added more ram so I've got a chunky 16GB in here, then when I get a tray for it I'm gonna put this 120GB SSD in there. Most people jump on those just to put the OS on them for like 10 second boot ups... lol, sounds awesome so I can't wait.

I laughed at the first review for that drive, with this:
"(even my first Seagate External HDD, a 120gb model that's nearly 10 years old now, still works to this day)"

Because I probably have the exact same model they're talking about, this giant brick 120GB Seagate and it still runs like a champ. First drive I had, at least ~8 years old or something, Seagate is quality. I have a fair amount of experience on the subject. I've had a multitude of WD externals, but I finally got that exact model you linked and it seems like one of the best I've had in awhile. I got the 3TB one, didn't know they had one for 4TB. I'd like to get one more (perhaps the 4TB one) so I can move some of my externals to inside my PC and maybe just put one away or something. I've got a 1TB and 2TB WD, then the 3TB Seagate all hooked up right now, anime and media all over all of them lol. The PC case I got has room for like 6-8 HDD's or something haha, I probably could fill it up someday.

So yes I cannot recommend that Seagate enough. I actually took back the 3TB WD model I got before hand, because it had some weird issue not being detected and some other annoying stuff. For 3TB worth of data... hell no I'm not risking anything, so I took it back for this Seagate and don't regret it all. Even the boxing was incredibly intricate and awesome compared to the WD. You can just tell looking at it physically it looks like quality work, it's super quiet, etc, worth it for sure.

Never really used externals for "backup" myself, since I only had a laptop and an old slim PC with no room for modifications, so I just had to keep buying externals for media storage. lol, I've also got a 500GB and 250GB WD, I took out the 500 and might slap that inside my new PC, I figure that could be an ideal drive dedicated to Steam games or something.

I was able to finally test out USB 3.0 with this Seagate too, it's the first one I've had that supports that, and my new PC does as well (they're blue inputs). When I was moving and organizing some stuff the other day, things definitely went a lot faster when I was going into that drive and such. Pretty neat. So can't wait to see how the SSD is. All about that speed!

I have no space for anything, and yet I'm about to start a classic game collection...

KTKore | 05-11-13, 8:12 PM
Nah I haven't read it. I own half of it though. I need to buy the rest.

KTKore | 05-11-13, 7:53 PM
Echelon might be better to go to for external HDD stuff. I've only owned two, and one of them crashed after 6 months. The one I have now has been running for over 2 years now though, but it's only 500GB.

You're welcome. I always did derive pleasure from ruining childhood movies for people. My mission has been accomplished.
Speaking of Disney a few weeks ago I watched Mulan in Chinese while eating Udon noodles. T'was the authentic experience, haha.

I remember checking out One Piece a few years ago in my local library. I only read, like, the first three volumes or so. (I was somewhere in the middle when they were rescuing Nami or something) I soon lost track of it, haha. It was on the first mangas I've ever touched, so I'd like to get into again. It is afterall one of the series that got me into this whole anime and manga phase. (And I do love me some pirate adventures!) Admittedly I never really enjoyed Bleach or Naruto and seeing as it's part of the 'Big Three' I only assumed it was similar to them, but then again also seeing how it gets by far the most praise is must have something that sets it apart.

There's no way in hell that I'd be able to watch 200+ 24 minute episodes of it, reading the manga however is a different matter. I'll more than likely try to tackle it again sometime in the summer when I have free time, but yeah... The length is rather daunting. I always liked the art and from what I remembered I enjoyed the characters from whatever little I read about them.

Thanks for telling me about it, I am more encouraged than ever to pick it up again. :)

Dude read this now.

Tell me what you think haha. This is some mindblowing stuff. Great theory if you ask me. Backed up by facts and it makes a lot of sense.

KTKore | 05-09-13, 12:02 PM
I deleted your post in case others who don't want to know anything (like Hisoka) read it lol.

Toriko doesn't belong in the same sentence as DB and OP lmao. I hate how Toei keeps trying to make him part of that gang. It doesn't work. Toriko isn't anywhere NEAR as good, and doesn't deserve to be in Goku and Luffy's company haha. It would have been great to get a DBZ/One Piece crossover episode without any Toriko stuff in it. That said, I do like Toriko. But yeah, it's not OP/DBZ level in the least. I guess they're just trying to make him ride their coattails.

I occationally look for those crazy hindu songs and this popped up. Seriously, if you just want to scroll through it make sure not to miss the action scenes after the second hour.

roriconfan | 05-09-13, 3:08 AM
Those crazy Hindu made a movie in the likes of AI or Bicenturial Man. Starts as a social drama and after the second hour it is non stop super awesome action

I was spoiled on a few things but nothing too major, so I still don't know what's going on in any of the arcs. Gonna keep it that way lol. Just can't wait for them to finish in the anime so I can go back to watching. Can't believe I already have 30 episodes piled up though. Not bad.

LaRose | 05-08-13, 2:28 AM
Yep, that's it. That arc was incredibly amazing! I'd really like to read it again. Then I will skip Skypiea and pick up reading where I left off.

A bit depressed, as of late.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/politics-obituaries/10039104/Rear-Admiral-Sir-Morgan-Morgan-Giles.html This is why. My uncle was a great man, and live to a great age. Hears hoping I live to a great age. ;_;

I just want my college semester to end so I can start stuff like Nausicaa and LOGH in peace. ;(

LaRose | 05-05-13, 6:55 AM
You've got a busy weekend ahead! Enjoy!

Just got back into reading One Piece. Nothing new though:

Yes! Just what I needed to get me going. xD

Sometimes things can be mentally scarring for the sake of comedy.
SOMEONE POISONED THE WATER HOLE.

I'm sure we could go on and on about how Woody has fallen into the depths of insanity, but I must ask a seemingly stupid question.. But you must tell me; is One Piece worth checking out?
