Code geass describe here own self just watch hime unitl the last episode, and he's not boring at all for me i had my skin trembling when i saw the first episode, and i hooked to see the next episode, i can't say he become a emperor or not cuz this a spoil, you have just to watch XD

Yeah!! honestly i can't say much about Death Note it's a legendary story with freaking awesome characters, for me there is an anime best than Death note, it's Code geass R1 & R2 !! 'i check your anime list' and i see Code geass in your on-Hold list, you must get the episodes as soon as possible, maybe this will be the best anime you'll seen ever ^^
