Considering how few 9's and 10's you've given out, you've done a great job in selecting worthy titles for them. Nice to find someone who rates things even harsher than I do, too. MAL is obnoxiously nice most of the time.

No offence but after reading some of your reviews and seeing how you scored most of the anime that are pretty good if not better terrible scores, I personally think your the worst reviewer iv'e seen on this site. Now i understand why most people click the "not helpful" option under your reviews...

Hello,

I read ALL of your My Little Monster (aka Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun) review and i must say thank you for laying out the facts. I only made it to episode 3 and was planning on following it through, based on the pretenses of a romantic ending, but am glad to drop it.

I grasp the concept of the series having good comedy and being a joy to watch...but i find unresolved rom/coms annoying B(

Anyway, just thought I'd stop by and say thanks for the review :3

That Mirai Nikki review is excellent. Thank you for so perfectly articulating the crushing amount of absurdity in that series.

By the way, I also happened to read your old blog about the reception of reviews nowadays, and honestly, I would say just write whatever you want. I'm pretty convinced that somewhere out there is a crowd of people who just go around downvote-spamming every new review regardless of how it's written or what the rating is. Anyone who would downvote without even reading a review or taking the time to explain why they disagree is probably not someone you should care about anyways. As a writer, I think it's fair to assume that your target audience is people who want to actually read something; don't worry about the people who don't.

A fantastic, but a bit of a bland review of Nekomonogatari.

It's worth a Helpful rating, but it's also worth wonders to insomniacs. Well, I'm running on five hours of sleep, so it just may be me. No disrespect. Happy reviewing!

Hetken tuota itseasiassa mietin, että mitä mahdoit hyvityksellä tarkoittaa, mutta selkenihän se. Funtsailin vaan et mahdoitko jonkun englanninkielisen sanan kääntää suomeksi hyvitystä vastaamaan. Itse en ainakaan kovasti animesta suomeksi puhu jtn ei ihan luonnostaan tule tuo että miten suomeksi ajatukset esittäisi, englanninkieliset vastineet kun mieleen ensiksi pomppailee.

Satakunta shojo mangaa/animea tullut läpi koluttua. Tonari keskivertoa parempi jos noihin vertaan, mutta sarjana noin ylipäätään omilla standerdailla aikalailla keskiverron tuntumassa. Ei nuo sarjojen väestötiedot juuri sellaisenaan omaan arviointiin vaikuta, joten eipähän tullut anteeksi annettua tässä tuota ns shojo sohjoutta.

Yllättävän usein näkyy teitä ketkä pidätte manga listat tyhjänä vaikka mangaa olisi tullut luettuakin. Onko tämä salaliitto?

Näinhän se eteni. Potentiaalinen alku ja mielenkiintoiset hahmot, mutta siihen sen erinomaisuus sitten jäikin. Toki miellyttävää katsottavaa muttei kuitenkaan mitään normaalista poikkeavaa vaikka olisi voinut mieleenpainuvampikin shojo olla.

Jepa, näillä viihdytän itseäni ja muita kun en suosikkilistasta muuten oikein perusta. Lähinnä kun en tiedä mitkä muutamat sinne valkkaisin joukosta erottumaan.

Lol you too. It seems like the beginning of the year has some of the worst or interesting anime haha. Yeah I'm planning on watching Amnesia and umm that's it haha. Yeah fall seems to have the best so like you I still have something to watch.

I can't understand why so many people would vote 'not helpful' on your reviews. For me it's really good, i hope you're not effected by it.

No no no. Getting a >50% ratio on your reviews means almost nothing to me. I'm completely convinced that the people who read reviews on this site are divided into two categories:

1. Those who want to read it for their own anime-viewing ventures (10% of the population).

2. Those who just like to see their favorite anime get praised (90% of the population).

Seeing it like that, I immediately EXPECT my reviews to get bashed by those hurt by my scores. As with your scores, which are FAR lower than what I give to animes, I would assume you expect the same thing. There will always be those who can't appreciate natural criticism, which upsets me most about this site.

But again, "elite" by my terms would apply to those who take time and effort to view anime through both passion and articulate calculation. Based on what I've read of your reviews, you do just that, and I respect you for it. Therefore, I see you as elite. And that's all there is to it.

Family is what really matters during the holidays so no need to worry. Enjoying the holidays for a couple of month? Do you get a winter break or something because mine's ending in a few days. And, you will eventually regret allowing my teenage angst to taunt around freely, but nowadays I'm a bit too exhausted to come up with anything too offensive or sharp-tongued myself so good for you. I don't recall people putting things under spoilers as being spoiled.. Oh I see what you did there, clever, very clever indeed :P.

Animu stuff

SAC first season doesn't accomplish much of "themes" with solid hits any time around since it relies a lot on sheer atmosphere and anticipations amongst other heavy influences, which doesn't correspond with character development or anything. But then it allows for brilliant scripts and near flawless blocking, set-up, and solutions to the episodic approaches. It's an old trick in the hat fixed with futuristic settings, and something I think SAC ended up with fruitful amount of is definitely breaking new grounds. Other words, it reached a lot of its potentials where most other Series fail at. Well I thought Makoto's body type was a given but guess not, you're just too blind to admit things now :D. Mushishi is very difficult to review, but good luck if that's still the case. It's already got some solid reviews on MAL, which is also another reason to consider not posting another one of your own dogmatized essays :p.

First Makise Kurisu's lab coat, now this? Well, I'd have to agree with you on it but Taiga's ambition as an American basketball player reminds me.. A bit of myself back when I still played it on a daily basis. And in fact I like Kuroko no Basket so much I'm planning to review it sometime soon. You'd better not get ahead of me this time though, there's only like 1 more slot for a review left :p. If anything, I'm only going to change Taiga to Kuroko since Kuroko has some redeeming traits as a player of the arts and of girls.. Did I say girls. Oh gosh no, I meant basketballs. But yeah you get the point, and there's no real need to disagree this time.

You talk of these review raids as some kind of chivalrous reward or something, just what are you, a masochist? Actually now I think about it that'd make a lot of sense :D. If by poetic instances you're referring to my Ano natsu de matteru one I wrote ages ago then yeah that's a bit embarrassing, but I think some people actually liked it so who knows something Shakespearean may come once in a while. Otherwise if you're still talking about SAO then oops :P. I particularly used to despise reviewing mainstreamed anime, but SAO give me a new perspective to look at this issue so we'll see how reviewing'll have to go for either of us in the future with haters constantly voting reviews down D:. It doesn't really matter, though.

I'll gladly take your remark of Makise Kurisu having no competition as a tsundere's disposal of telling me Kurisu > Maria then. But then again they're not even in the same TV series so there's nothing to argue about :p. Once we get to an actually enticing Series with loads of female leads let's discuss this .. eh? Superior taste competition? Well there's no real competition since we both know I am obviously the superior on.. I mean why even deny that the only thing you have for that Maria is her outlooks, when my passion for Makise holds much greater than a second-degree character in a second-degree harem show dressed like cow? >:3

You just made some many claims on the Eva's remake I don't even know where to begin. Well first of all 2.0 did have some dynamic new storylines and we can both agree the plot's good. The soundtracks were all amazing too, and I'd already checked out some of the 3.0 OSTs as well. They're really good. Haha better get the best of your torture in the best quality available, eh? Did I mention that your masochist persona manifested itself perfectly when you said you don't mind Evangelion completely bombarding Victim's intelligence. Well, you don't have much in the first place I guess :P. I don't know why your in such a hurry to rate Evangelion down too, its Christian allegories are definitely a controversial topic but by all means to justify my point all I need to do is pull the 2deep4u? card. That's also the worst idea I've ever heard, to put cute girls into Evangelion, because they're probably going to turn into psychos and have an even cockier attitude than Asuka, and everything'll turn into mayhem yet again, and by an army of cute girls. It just doesn't get better :0

Cereals?

The only constant knowledge I'm digesting is Business Law and some commercial law so international, migration and all that complicated stuff will probably escape my mind by next year :3. It was fun to take an extra course but the matter of the fact is school's too harsh on me these days and extra courses don't do my grades any good. I'm not sure if I told you before but my school's a private institute and they're really harsh on some classes. And law just takes up your time, studying and memorizing all these acts and regulations. Well, American law is surely harder than most other Nations' laws since our country apparently holds the most responsibility in the international community too I guess, which isn't necessarily good either. I should also mention to you that I'll likely be gone from MAL sometime around second half of January since we still have finals for our school :(. It'll probably be fine and stuff affiliated with anime will commence as usual by later February hopefully.

And thanks for caring for my well being (for the most part ^.^), I think it's probably just the lack of sleep I've been getting or just the amount of work I could've gotten done if I didn't have to write these long essays to Victims of certain fates. Either way, language is not my strong point, but I've strived to get to where I am, and won't let something as trivial as English not being my native language get in the way of superior authority >:D. And I'm sure you noticed but I'm always trying to cut back length on these replies. Yet, you always seem to counter back with twice as much as I'd cut down each time. So how about we just focused on these so-called character favoritism disagreements (the ones about Kuroko, undoubtably perfect Kurisu, and your masochist problems with reviewing and Eva if you want to :3) since I'm watching more Slice of Life nowadays; and thus characters are of more interest to me now. And neither of us have as much time to reply anyways nowadays so let's just cut to the chase on our arguing :P. Also, do reply to the message because I've got to tell you something in a more private manner as well! Nothing too serious, but I think it's important for me personally ^.^

Nice Tonari review all though I don't agree with the score it still proved to be a great read lol. Pretty helpful in my opinion
