I am six episodes in and Soul Eater is not too good like you said. If I hadn't bought the complete series blu-ray set for $20 last year, I would definitely drop it. I am trying to finish this first disc today and I am having trouble motivating myself to watch much more even while working.

Wanted to check out something new (and something lighter than in tone than others that I'm watching now), figured how bad could it be if you watched it at the pace you did and it seems to have a positive consensus opinion. The episode total is a bit daunting but after two episodes it was entertaining enough that I'm going to watch some more to see if worth continuing.

The show's quite the spectacle, the Titan head flying through the air was awesome.
So after finishing one long running shonen series you needed to fill that void with another? How are you liking HxH thus far? I really like how it doesn't lollygag like other similar series may, though it being new adaptation with a larger buffer b/w what's airing and what's published may play a role in that. |

It definitely is not fucking around, and apparently business hasn't even picked up yet according to various forum comments, so it's got me hooked. I must have said 'holy shit!' at least a couple times during ep 5.

Overall, I ended up liking the second season. I was able to watch it pretty quickly since they had it up on Hulu dubbed. The new FUNi dub cast seemed alright. It was pretty much their usual average effort. I found the first 10 episodes or so to be pretty awful. Those were probably around a 3. The rest of the episodes, once the story got going, were very good though.

So far it's quite compelling. While the pace was a bit too slow at times at the start, I didn't mind it too much as it helped the setup overall. Some of the character designs (mainly the hair) are a bit over the top even when you account for the requisite amount of typical silliness that's almost inherent in anime designs, but they haven't detracted too much.

You go to Japan and they announce a new White Album 2 anime series. I guess it is based on the White Album 2 game which I think has different characters though.
