That's great, no rush, I just wanted you to see it sometime. Same with me and Kids on the Slope. I will get to it soon as I get thru some of the shows I'm watching now.

Have fun in the Big Apple, watch out for pick-pockets.

You can download The 2 seasons of Rumic Theater which contains 13 short stories for the first season and 13 episodes of Mermaid forest for the second season. Here is the description on BakaBT for Mermaid:

According to an ancient legend, mermaid's flesh can grant immortality if eaten. 500 years ago, Yuta unknowingly ate a piece of mermaid's flesh. For centuries, he travels across Japan, hoping to find a mermaid, thinking she may be able to make him a normal human again. When he finally finds one, he discovers that she and her companions have been raising a girl to be their food so they can eat her and take on her youthful looks. That is how mermaids stay young. Yuta kills the mermaids and rescues her, but she has already eaten some of the mermaid's flesh. Although he had to kill the mermaids, Yuta isn't too disappointed. Yuta's once lonely existence is now over, as he has found a companion in Mana. And Mana, who had been trapped in a small hut her whole life, finds delight in even the simplest of things. Together, Yuta and Mana attempt to seek out more mermaids, trying to become normal humans again.

Your comment about having a higher tolerance for horror and gore than I think makes me want to have you check out Mermaid Forrest. It's primary focus is not horror or gore, it is a smart well written show about mermaids being hunted for their flesh which grants immortality. You really should check it out. And I will get to Kids on the slope, I'm downloading it now!

That waiting at least 349.34 years before watching Crying Freeman made me LOL. Good one!

I agree that Bastard! was so over the top. Should I put that title in my Crappy List?

I was going to add, in regard to my viewing choices that I have been looking for unusual anime titles lately. I joined a Club called Unusual is Better where I found many of the titles I've watched. I'm just not as interested in the new anime that has been coming out, there are exceptions of course.

And finally, as I got older, my tolerance for horror increased, so that I find most cartoon monsters and gore somewhat laughable. Did you ever see the movie "Kill Bill". The joke going around in the movie industry that Tarrentino bought all the fake blood in Hollywood when he made that movie. As long as the gore is cartoony it does'nt bother me.

I'm doing good. The crappy shows are quite entertaining. One that I am watching now which isn't really crap, more like a B movie, is Crying Freeman. He is one hell of a assassin and becomes leader of a powerful Japanese mafia. It's so macho it's funny. He strips down naked to fight and so does his wife. There is a sex scene in every episode, the women all lust after him. Lots of blood and knives going through heads and chests. You might want to wait a few years before watching it though. :-)

P.S. I have watched some good shows every now and then. Mermaid Forrest comes to mind.

Hey. how are you?

Patlabor looks interesting, I'll give the OVA a look. Thanks.

I'm watching a lot of weird and old anime. Some of them are so crappy that they are fun to watch.

Also a quick note, the show starts out slow but it still has it's moments and will always surprise you. So don't be deterred by it's long detail it gives to the story whic turns into beautiful development.

I would say yes to Uchuu Kyoudai for it is in my opinion one of the best stories in anime in the past 5 years at least. As for if you would like it I'm not sure but I can say, if you like non action comedies that are totally story driven then I would say you would love it. Also if you already have an interest in astronomy then you literally HAVE to give it a chance. For it's length, I am currently behind so I don't know how close it is to an end, but I definitely think it will be over 100 episodes and if they wanted, they could make it into one of the longest shows ever, even possibly rivaling One Piece depending on how it sells, because of the nature of the show.

Trigun was a religious parable about good and evil. Vash represents an angel of God and Knives is the devil. They are obviously not human but the story does not explain where they came from. Maybe created in a lab. The concept was good and don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the series very much, I just felt that they could have made it better.
Currently. I'm watching Clannad, another show I hesitated watching because of it's pop status, but I decided to give it a try because of it's theme which is about the importance of being part of a Family. It's been interesting so far.
Another quirky show i'm watching is Great Teacher Onizuka, about an ex motorcycle gang leader that becomes an high school teacher. He has a unique way of dealing with rowdy students. It's funny and outrageous.

I have been hearing a lot about Sakamichi no Apollon orKids on the Slope and will get to it soon. Thanks for the recommendation.

Finished Trigun, enjoyed it. I probably wouldn't have seen it if it wasn't for your recommendation. I didn't rate it as high as you did though, i felt the humor at the beginning was a little silly. The show reminded me a little of One Piece which I watched a little of on TV. Both these shows are aimed at more of a teen audience which isn't bad in itself, but I'm turned off a little by the huge, outragious monster bad guys. My taste runs more to Baccano!.

It was the 4th episode of Maoyuu Maou Yuusha. It would have said that But after I set [C] to re-watching it went back down to 99.9, and hanks for your congratulations, I'm just happy I am able to watch stuff again because I am not as busy now.

Jym | 02-02-13, 8:23 PM
Going to check out Aachi wa Ssipak next.

Jym | 02-02-13, 8:06 PM
Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san. (TV) was funny but not as good as the Ping Pong Club or Pantry, Stocking with Garterbelt.

Jym | 01-29-13, 8:43 PM
How you liking Michiko to Hatchin so far?

Jym | 01-04-13, 4:14 PM
Finished Planetes, I gave it a 10, near perfect story. A great mature anime. Starts slow and builds up. You actually get a feel for life in space.

HellSpartan392 | 01-02-13, 8:34 PM
Lol I barely even remembered. More then likely will be something airing this season but regardless thanks in advance!

Jym | 12-29-12, 8:33 PM
Planetes looks good, I will start it soon. Thanks

Jym | 12-29-12, 8:00 PM
Wow Yoda, you have over 500 shows on your PTW list, you might want to edit them down a bit. I noticed that Bastard!! in the only show that you rated higher than I did, so don't be too disappointed :-)
As to Ghost Hound, I've just seen 4 eps so I don't know if it will continue to meet my expectations but I like the look and feel of the show. Did you read the reviews? Personally I would put it towards the the top but you and I have somewhat different tastes. If I may make a suggestion, why don't you check out a couple of episodes of some of the animes on your PTW list, those that look the most interesting, move them to your "On Hold" List and go from there.

Jym | 12-29-12, 6:53 PM
I be fine, how you doing? Just finished Bastard!!. It was OK, a little too over the top macho-man for me. I was entertained, but wasn't crazy about it.
Have you seen Ghost Hound? Pookykin told me about it, watched the first 4 episoded and decided to buy the BluRay of it. Looks good.
