There are 901 FAL teams this season. Insane.

KingYoshi | Mar 23, 2018 2:05 AM
I have been on a movie/film/cinema kick here lately. I have fallen behind on anime quite a bit. Hopefully, this season will get me back in seasonal rhythm.

Definitely

Boku no Hero Academia 3 I have not finished season 2, but I am enjoying it more than season 1. I will definitely be sticking with this series.

Steins;Gate 0 I absolutely loved Steins;Gate, so I am pretty excited for this. It seems this series will tie into the ending of the original. Should be fun.

Tokyo Ghoul:re I didn't care much for the 2nd season. However, I will likely watch this one with a friend.

Shokugeki no Souma: San no Sara - Toutsuki Ressha-hen Yeah, this show is consistently fun and I look forward to another season.

Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online I am absolutely down for some more Gun Gale action. Even though this is a spin-off, I can't help but get excited for new SAO material. Bring on the haters! :)

Persona 5 the Animation The video game was incredible. I am interested to see what parts of the game they use. Of course, it is always great to see the various Personas in action. The first arc of the game was really good, so we shall know early how this adaptation is going to go.

Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These - Kaikou I think it looks good. So many people hating on the trailer forgetting that there was plenty bishie in the original. I have also not completed the original. I paused it when this new series was announced. I shall finish this and then complete the original. Likely, saving the best for last. Either way, I am sure I will enjoy this well enough.

Amanchu! Advance The first season was great. I can't wait for more crazy Pikari faces and yuri subtext goodness. Hopefully, with their current skill level, we shall see more of the ocean environment in all of its glory.

Hoozuki no Reitetsu 2nd Season: Sono Ni Wow, this snuck in without me noticing somehow. I suppose it is because the user numbers are quite low. Anyway, I still need to finish up the first half of the second season, but this will be a for sure go.

Maybe

Piano no Mori The movie has been on my PTW for a while and I heard it was pretty good. I am inclined to check out anything with classical music potential or piano in the title.

Megalo Box I have never saw Ashita no Joe, but this does look interesting. I figure I will at least check it out initially and go from there.

Tachibanakan Triangle It does have a Shoujo-Ai tag. If it is gay, it will be a GO, for sure. I think I need some respectable, fun, playful type yuri after this NTR and Citrus mess. The ecchi tag scares me a bit though.

Nil Admirari no Tenbin: Teito Genwaku Kitan That synopsis! I think I might check it out purely based on the way the synopsis is worded, lol. In all seriousness, I am curious as to why there is so much embellishment.

Uma Musume: Pretty Derby (TV) Gay, horse girls sounds really awesome. If it is gay it is a go!

Hisone to Maso-tan Toothless has hyped cute dragons for me. I may check this out to get a cute dragon fix in. Who knows?

LoneWolf | Mar 16, 2018 6:54 PM
Well its about that time again where we are blessed with new ways to kill our boredom! Onward to Spring 2018! If I had to have a sub-heading for this season it would be SEASON OF THE SEQUELS!

Definitely
Boku no Hero Academia 3 Here we go again. This is probly the best shonen anime to come out recently and the last season actually stepped things up quite a bit, so I'm hoping for the same this season.

Shokugeki no Souma: San no Sara - Toutsuki Ressha-hen
Speaking of great shonens we go that one cooking show... oh you know the one :) Yeah this show is a lot of fun and I think this is like the 4th of 5th season. Really consistent stuff.

High School DxD Hero Here it is folks, the king of ecchi series. Highschool DxD. Considering how much I'm enjoying Killing Bites, I definitely don't mind some mindless ecchi fun this season.

Persona 5 the Animation I've been hearing amazing things about the game, but I'm too cheap and lazy to buy and play it so I guess this will have to do.

Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory Well this is something I never expected to see... a new season of one of my favorite anime from back in the day. I don't exactly have supreme confidence in Xebec or the director, but I really want to see what happens to these characters

Golden Kamuy Seems like a solid action show and the manga is pretty well regarded so hopefully this is a good adaptation

Megalo Box THIS! This is my most anticipated anime of the season. Fucking cyberpunk Ashita no Joe! I'm already sold and the trailer looks amazing... CAN'T FUCKING WAIT.

Uma Musume: Pretty Derby The long awaited horse idol show. It's finally here. Honestly I think idol shows are really boring, but hopefully they can insert some comedy like Monster Musume and do something fun with the genre.

Lupin III: Part V All the new Lupin T.V series have been really solid and this looks no different.

Cutie Honey Universe Looks like Go Nagai is on a roll, first Devilman, now Cutie Honey. Tbh I really liked the Gainax version so its gonna be hard to measure up to that, but the PV looks good so we can always hope.

Maybe

Steins;Gate 0 I was never the biggest fan of Steins;Gate, but I'm willing to give this a try...

[b]Tokyo Ghoul:re[/b
Pretty much the same as above

Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These - Kaikou Considering I never seen the original I'm pretty hesitant to start this... not really digging the char designs either.

Mahou Shoujo Ore This looks too stupid and funny to pass up.

Souten no Ken Re:Genesis Full cgi prequel to Fist of the North Star... really don't know about this, but I do enjoy some over the top GAR and I'm sure this will deliver.

Gegege no Kitarou Reboot of a really old anime/manga that no one remember, but is historically significant... I'll give it a shot. Also I recently read a manga from the author and really liked it.

KingYoshi | Dec 24, 2017 11:07 PM
Yeah, I have been really busy as well as re-watching series' with my friend. I have fallen well behind on seasonal. I shall catch up with most of them soon though.

Definitely watching...

Nanatsu no Taizai: Imashime no Fukkatsu
I really enjoyed season one, so I am looking forward to this. It is about time for some more Ban in my life anyway.

Citrus
The manga started off great, then went to shit. I am honestly hoping for an anime-only ending for this one. At worst it should be a decent yuri anime. A far cry from that NTR shit-show anyway.

Saiki Kusuo 2
This series is great. Legit hilarious stuff. However, I still need to finish season one completely.

Ito Junji: Collection
Uzumaki is one of my all time favorite manga. I also greatly enjoy Ito's art style and various works. I am super excited for this as well. Also, I have not read as much Ito as I would like, so hopefully this can help with that.

Will likely check out initially and see...

Overlord 2
The first season was hit or miss, but I enjoyed it to an extent. I expect the same out of this one, so I will likely check it out.

Fate/Extra Last Encore
I generally check out all of the new Fate series. Who knows if I will stick with this one? It doesn't really seem all that interesting and I'm not even sure if I will ever finish Apocrypha, but fuck it. We shall see.

Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
I always check out Wit Studio anime. The age gap concept in this one seems like it could avoid the fetish/pandering side and actually be interesting. I my just be too optimistic.

Poputepipikku
So, this is suppose to be weird as fuck/insane. It sounds like I will definitely be checking it out.

Kokkoku
A time-stop anime could be pretty cool, but I doubt this one turns out to be very good. Oh well, worth a shot at least.

LoneWolf | Dec 18, 2017 8:40 PM
Unfortunatey due to real life stuff... like having a full-time job and girlfriend I'm sorely behind on watch seasonal anime... doesn't mean I still can't look forward to the new season though. It's that time of the year again.

Definitely

Ito Junji: Collection
Definitely the show I'm most looking forward to this year. I'm a huuuuge Junji Ito fan. I would love to see more of his work animated. The Gyo movie was.... lacklustre and kinda lacked what made his work scary, even though the circus scene was great. Anyway hope this isn't just another Yami Shibai

Basilisk: Ouka Ninpouchou
This is such a weird anime to get a sequel... after all these years lol. Anyway I'm down. I love this sort of violent nonsense and it seems to be going down the whole battle royale route too like the original.

Nanatsu no Taizai: Imashime no Fukkatsu
This is pretty good medieval fantasy/magic series... its not amazing, but its better than average. I would have preferred the author's other work Kongou Banchou get adapted, but I'll settle for more of this.

Dagashi Kashi 2
This wouldn't normally be my cup of tea... but I kinda enjoyed the last season for whatever reason. It was simple it was enjoyable it was silly and hopefully this is the same.

Maybe

Kokkoku
The trailer looks cool and thats it really... no idea who the studio or director are.

Killing Bites
This looks extremely stupid and bad, but hopefully in a good way.

Overlord II The first season of this show as extremely overrated and lame. It had some cool idea though... hopefully it doesn't completely suck this time around.

Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
A bit of a wildcard but idk it looks decent I think.

omakase | Oct 26, 2017 7:06 PM
@LoneWolf Definitely agree with you on Welcome to the Ballroom, it's been one of the most interesting things I've watched lately in terms of character interactions and expectations, specially eps 12 and 13.

Koi to Uso was dumb and the ending was infuriating, I only ever found the setting interesting, but right away the characters annoyed me. I still thought it could get better, poor naive me.

LoneWolf | Oct 26, 2017 3:59 PM
Thx for sharing @post_human. Just gonna leave my final thoughts for Summer 2017. I don't know how many people are actually gonna read this, but I kinda just feel like writing it out lol.

Kakegurui It'a Kaiji with cute girls and no stakes. I feel like the MC is never really gonna get in trouble and also I hate the male MC, I don't even know why hes in the show.

Tsurezure Children Actually enjoyed this more than I should, but some of the couples are very hit or miss. Student prez and the yankee girl were def my favorite couple. I would have a whole series about them.

Koi to Uso I think it started off strong and had an interesting concept, but as it went a long it got really corny and they introduced too many characters and made the narrative and love web too complicated.

Hajimte no Gal I have no idea why I started or even finished this. I think I laughed like 2 or 3 times this entire series and it was all unintentional.

Aho Girl I liked this way more than I should considering how annoying the main character is. It was really funny though tbh and the characters were very simple, but memorable.

Welcome to the Ballroom My favorite anime of the season. Tatara is a great MC, he has enough determination to not come off as a generic beta male, but he still has a lot of insecurities and shynes; but he acknowledges those and wants to improve himself. The visuals and pacing are also excelling.

Owarimonogatari Senjougahara arc is best arc. The others were okay.

Touken Ranbu Even the cool sword fights couldn't keep me awake some episodes. I just did not care about any of these characters or what they were fighting for.

Shoukoku no Altair One of the better shows this season, but's quite slow at the start IMO, but def gets better as it progresses.

Jigoku Shoujo: Yoi no Togi Not as good as the first few season. Very edgy and some of the situations just seem very black and white, lacking any kind of moral ambiguity that I liked in the original.

The Reflection Super generic superhero show the anime. Try harder Marvel. I even liked the old Madhouse Marvel adaptations better than this...

post_human | Oct 6, 2017 2:38 AM
Fall 2017 animes to watch, imo - http://tinyurl.com/ybbzrudy

KingYoshi | Sep 18, 2017 6:54 AM
That time again, eh? This upcoming season does show some promise. Hopefully, without Made in Abyss making pretty much everything else seem inferior, I will be able get into more anime this season.

Definitely watching/checking out...

Shokugeki no Souma: The Third Plate - I love this show. I enjoyed the 2nd season even better than the first. Hopefully, the trend continues. Either way, I will really enjoy this one.

Kekkai Sensen & Beyond - I greatly enjoyed the first season. I look forward to more rad designs and beautiful chaos.

Inuyashiki - The premise sounds fairly unique. Seeing it is from the creator of Gantz only adds to the hype. Plus, MAPPA. This one could be really enjoyable.

Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World - Yeah, this was such a pleasant surprise. Lerche has handled some really enjoyable anime these last few years. I look forward to another.

Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou - I may be more excited for this than anything else this season. The premise and PV were incredible. I can't wait!

Hoozuki no Reitetsu 2 - The first season was genuinely funny. I expect Studio Deen to handle the second season just as well as Wit handled the first.

May check out if I hear favorable things...

Juuni Taisen - If this is a tournament style anime, I may check it out.

Ousama Game the Animation - This sounds like it could be full of glorious edge. It could also be terrible.

Vanishing Line - MAPPA is the reason I may check this one out.

LoneWolf | Sep 17, 2017 9:21 PM
On closer inspection it looks like Koike just drew the poster for Vanishing line lol. Also its apparently a Garo anime? Also the director did the second season of Garo... *sigh*

Still looks cool though and MAPPA has a decent track record.

LoneWolf | Sep 17, 2017 9:10 PM
Another season another reason to pick up more anime

Fall quickly approaches and the season doesn't look too bad.

Definitely

Shokugeki no Souma: San no Sara Sequel. Always enjoyed this particular shonen. I didn't think a cooking show would be so appealing, but going the shonen angle rather than sol, makes it pretty fun

Kekkai Sensen & Beyond Sequel. Definitely more style over substance, but still should be fun.

Inu Yashiki Fuck yeah, so glad something from the Gantz creator is getting another anime. Hopefully the cgi is not too bad though.

Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World - The Animated Series Crazy that this is getting a sequel after so many years, but yeah if its anything like the original I'm down.

Osomatsu-san 2 A decent comedy anime, with a lot of variety. Definitely some misses and hits though.

Vanishing Line Apparently the director is some new Korean guy, but I'd know those char designs anywhere. Looks like Takashi Koike will have some involvement in the series so I'm definitely down.

Maybe

Code:Realize: Sousei no Himegimi I'm very apprehensive about this. I actually liked where the original ended and this could go really badly... really quickly

Juuni Taisen Looks like some stupid violent fun. I'm not really a fun of these recent chinese anime, but maybe this one is different.

Ousama Game The Animation Another Battle Royale type anime. I haven't read the manga for this, but hopefully its okay? I guess I'll find out.

Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou The backgrounds and atmosphere look amazing, but the char designs are such cringe... I'm kind of conflicted, but yeah I'll give it a try.

Just Because! Just a wildcard choice tbh, looks pretty average for a slice of life romance type thing.

LoneWolf | Jul 13, 2017 10:33 AM
First impressions for Summer 2017

KingYoshi | Jul 12, 2017 11:27 PM
We haven't done first impression posts in a while, no longer do seasonal threads :( , and I am bored, so fuck it. I didn't expect much from this season, but I have been pleasantly surprised so far. Keep in mind, all of my initial ratings tend to be high and I drop them slowly as the season progresses.

Impressions:

KingYoshi | Jun 25, 2017 7:36 PM
Definitely Watching
New Game 2 - I was happy and surprised to see this get a sequel. Should be as fun as the first season.

Fate/Apocrypha - I don't expect to like this one as much as Zero or UBW, but I still enjoy the Fate series for the most part.

Netsuzou TRap - I was super excited for this until I learned it was only going to have 10 minute episodes :/. 10 minutes of yuri is better than zero minutes I guess.

Ballroom e Youkoso - The PV looked great. I love dance in general. My family's business is dance and competitive dance, so I got pretty excited looking into this one.

THE REFLECTION - Yeah, the Stan Lee connection makes this insta-watch. Even if it isn't great it should be decent.

All/Most Shorts

Maybe Watching/Worth a Look
Kakegurui - MAPPA always deserves an initial check out. The premise is unique enough. I am always a sucker for badass female leads. This sounds like it could be fun.

Koi to Uso - The premise is interesting enough. I'm hoping for some serious romance/melodrama with this one. The PV seemed promising in that regard.

Tsurezure Children - Episodic romcom anime with a large cast seems pretty interesting to me actually. Seems like the cliches and archetypes won't get old/annoying in this format. Could be wrong.

Made in Abyss - The PV's really intrigued me. I am digging the art and animation style. The backgrounds and world look ghibli-like.

Isekai Shokudou - An isekai food porn show? Sounds interesting enough to check out. The visuals seem nice as well.

Nana Maru San Batsu - Competitive Quiz sounds pretty interesting. Will check it out initially.

Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu - Will check out because of ufotable. If it isn't high enough level eye-candy, then I doubt I stick with it.

Shoukoku no Altair - Doesn't seem like my thing, but MAPPA.

For the future/If I get caught up with the series...
Owarimonogatari 2 - Still behind on the Monogatari series.

Jigoku Shoujo 4 - Have had this series on my PTW for a while. Need to check it out here soon.

LoneWolf | Jun 24, 2017 12:57 AM
Well its that time of the year again where the nipponese gods bless us with new offerings. What are you guys watching?

Definitely

Owarimonogatari 2nd Season Been with this franchise for years and while it has never been as good as the first season, I still always end up enjoying something

THE REFLECTION I'm really curious how Stan Lee's involvement in this will turn out. The PV looked pretty interesting and Deen has been on a roll recently.

Jigoku Shoujo: Yoi no Togi One of my favorite episodic horror series. This was back when there was actual animations in horror anime and not just motion comics

Ballroom e Youkoso Anything with a jazz OST gets an auto watch from me. PV looked good too and sounds like an interesting premise in general.

Maybe

Kakegurui MAPPA + Animation and char design looks really good. Not really sure about the premise, but willing to give it a try.

Shoukoku no Altair MAPPA + Interesting setting. I tend to enjoy historic anime. I could see this going south fast though

Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu ufotable + sword fights, sounds like a good good, but ufotable isn't always 100% with their productions *cough*Godeater*cough*

Centaur no Nayami Monster girls has been pretty much my go to "so bad it's good" anime. I don't expect this to be as good as monmosu, but hopefully its still fun

Isekai Shokudou Kind of a wild card the backgrounds in the PV look nice, but it doesn't show much of anything else. Not a big fan of isekai in general, but I'll watch the first ep.

Tsurezure Children Another wild card. I'm not a huge fan of romance, but yeah this looks potentially not terrible lol.

LoneWolf | Mar 24, 2017 9:29 AM
I totally forgot Gundam Thunderbolt was a thing. Just saw the first episode of season 2... omg so amazing. The music is even better than last season and the fights are even more intense. Kinda sad we only get 4 episodes though.

KingYoshi | Mar 22, 2017 2:02 PM
Yeah, pretty much no interest in everything outside of the sequels. Hopefully, there is a surprise or two in there...

Definitely Watching
Attack on Titan 2 - Loved the first season and am excited for this one. The manga does go "off the rails," but that shouldn't be until season 3. This season should be greatness.

Boku no Hero Academia 2 - I really liked how the first season finished despite the mediocre start. I am excited to see more Frog Girl <3

Shingeki no Bahamut 2 - First season was fantastic. Hopefully, they can keep it going here. Sequels to series like this worry me, but at least this one keeps the MCs (unlike Garo). I am optimistic here.

Berserk 2017 - The CG didn't even bother me anymore by the end of the first season. I enjoyed it fine and expect to do the same here. Reading the manga alongside the series probably helped quite a bit with my enjoyment.

Sekai no Yami Zukan - Horror shorts are always on my radar. Hopefully, these are at least halfway decent.

Souryo to Majiwaru Shikiyoku no Yoru ni... - A short about a drunken priest romance sounds interesting enough to me, haha.

Maybe Watching/Worth a Look
Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho - The next White Fox fantasy anime. I will have to at least check it out initially. Loved Re:Zero, but I'm definitely not getting my hopes up for this one.

Hinako Note - Will check it out for the yuri potential. 4-koma + All female cast.

Tsuki ga Kirei - Kishi is one of the directors I kind of try to follow, so I will check it out initially. The synopsis is interesting in that it contains zero nonsense. This could be a nice romance/SoL/coming of age story...or, it could bore the life out of me.

Sakurada Reset - I'll likely wait and hear from you guys/gals before checking this one out. Same goes for...

Alice to Zouroku - Old man dynamic could be comical. That loli character design is a red flag though.

If I manage to get caught up with the series...
Uchouten Kazoku 2 - Definitely interested and plan to watch eventually, but still need to finish the first season.

Natsume Yuujinchou Roku - Added to my ever increasing list of Natsume seasons that I am behind on.

Kyoukai no Rinne 3 - Will catch up with this series eventually. Well, that is the plan anyway :P

LoneWolf | Mar 20, 2017 4:39 PM
It's that time again when glorious nippon blesses us with new cartoons. What are you guys looking forward to? Unfortunately nearly all my picks are sequels... I just don't see any interesting new/original anime this season.

Definitely
Natsume Yujinchou s6- This series has yet to disappoint. Like Iv'e said before it's pretty much Mushishi Lite, but still awesome. Shuka has done a great job picking up where brains+base left off.

Shingeki no Bahamut: Virgin Soul- Loved the first season and this looks just as good if not better. Great to see MAPPA do something more actiony.

Uchouten Kazoku 2- Something from PA works that doesn't put me to sleep. Probably, because none of the regular staff are involved in this. Yeah first season was great, hopefully this one continues.

Berserk (2017)- Judging by the trailers its still cgi and it looks terrible.... *sigh* sometimes I wish I was in an alternate universe where the people who made the Berserk anime actually gave a shit about the fans and source material. Either way as a fan I need to watch this and hopefully there is at least some new music by Hirasawa Susumu.

Maybe
Shingeki no Kyojin Season 2- The first season was pretty good, but kinda overhyped and poorly paced. There is a small chance I could drop this, but its very likely I'll watch it to completion

Boku no Hero Academia 2nd Season- I wasn't extremely impressed by the first season, but it was an okay shonen. Again pretty likely I'll finish this, but if it gets really meh I'll be considering a drop.

Sakurada Reset- I kinda wanna try it just for David Pro... but yeah this doesn't really seem like my thing, but I'll give it a shot.

Sekai no Yami Zukan- Horror tag is pretty much the only reason I'll be checking this out. Omnibus format is also a plus, but anime and horror don't always work out that well.

Alice to Zouroku- Again doesn't really seem like my thing, but the old man character seems super interested. I just hope the little girl doesn't give me so much diabetes that I have to stop watching the show.
