There would be a chance that the banned person will just create another account and continues writing reviews that doesn't follow the rules, but still your suggestion would be a good extension of the new guidelines for those who can be bothered to take into account and think for a second about how much a hassle would be if their sometimes long-existing account -along with their list, friend list, whatnot- would be terminated, and can process the thought that a ban would only occur because he/she wasn't able, or wanted to follow the rules.

To be fair, for a reinforcement I support the idea too that posting reviews should be denied until a show finishes, or in case for longer series, reviews could be posted only after the 50th episode: the forums are there to discuss any series from a random angle, or just to join in for the episode discussions and discuss individual episodes, so there is no need for enabling early reviews when they are basically just long winded forum posts placed in another place in order to make people notice them easier. Even more so when there is no character limit for forum posts as far as I'm aware, so there is no reason for the early reviewers to hold back and speak their mind in these forums, unless someone is craving for attention so much it isn't enough for him/her, and want to write an early review even though it's more benefical to write one when one actually has a solid opinion about it after it finishes, and not resort to "I'm gonna refresh the review after each episode". That's needless plus work, and incidently enough most of them doesn't even do it.

The fact that I posted it here and not posting directly on the profile means I don't give them attention.

Here's the correct place to post it anyway.

And the report button is already clicked minutes ago.

If they aren't going to implement any changes regarding reviews, why not just ban the users for not following the rules? Take down a review once and send a notice about it. If he still doesn't follow the guidelines, ban him. It takes more time creating a new account than it takes to ban it, so they'll have less work to do. It's like in class. If a teacher just asks the students to be quiet, they'll eventually continue talking. No matter how many times she repeats it, they'll always continue. Unless she punishes them with detention or other more drastic methods.

Then stop giving him attention.
Report him and move on.

The amount of quality in the recent review page is astounding.
I hope they never get deleted or these premature attempts at reviewing get disabled. After all, MAL could use some additional load on its ever so shitty database and servers.

Konik | 05-15-13, 6:19 AM
More like nobody deleted any reviews last few days. Even the troll ones like the cooking review.

Nickienator | 05-15-13, 6:02 AM
It seems they stopped deleting them at 5-6 episode-reviews already...

Eternia | 05-15-13, 5:56 AM
In before SnK having tonnes of reviews now.

VentusCross | 05-14-13, 1:31 AM
Well, that's dinner sorted.

Eternia | 05-14-13, 1:21 AM
Adding butter? Yuck. Sorry. I like my white rice.

ChiStyle | 05-13-13, 7:36 PM

Hello guys, nice to see you again. A warm welcome to him who is new to the club!

Niyawa | 05-11-13, 5:33 AM
Maybe when I finish with my coding skills I'll go to Xinil's profile and slap him saying: "Let me do something about this shit."

Nickienator | 05-11-13, 4:55 AM
It's too bad that you know every good idea on improving reviews that involves the slightest bit of work in the coding department will never happen.

Niyawa | 05-11-13, 2:16 AM
imdb and RT works similar to that. It's definitely something interesting.
