Please remember to vote for Akemi Homura in upcoming ISML matches, which starts about two days from now. If you check ISML history, almost all the character who appeared in playoff visited us back in screen 2 to 3 years later in form of sequel season, movie, or OVA. Good performance in events like ISML may slightly help people in anime industry take a gamble with those characters again. So if you wish to see more of Madoka Magica girls in near future, please help the cause, no matter how little it might help, by voting for Akemi Homura in the upcoming Match which starts on April 14th. Dear fellow Madoka Magica fans,
On April 14th, International Saimoe League Voting will get started, with our Akemi Homura as one of the participants. She will undergo grueling string of 35 matches against the most popular anime girls in quest to show how the anime community appreciates her. Although it may seem like a marathon, history has shown that the most important matches of the regular season are the first 5 matches, as the performance during them will establish the tone for the entire year. This is because great number of voters decides to enter the fray or leave the scene depends on how well their girl does, which means wins in the first 5 matches are likely to attract even more voters to the cause while loss can make some to give up voting in ISML. Homura faces steep competition where she will need everyone of your votes and more. It is vital to her chance that you encourage folks you know to vote for Homura. Please consider making a plea for voting for her at websites you frequent. If each of you can convince just one more person to vote for Homura, her chance for victory would be greatly improved, and deep run into postseason tournament would be very possible. Please vote for her and campaign for her. For more information about ISML, please visit
Thank you very much for all the support you have shown so far, which has helped Homura overcome very tough oppositions in the prelim.
@Dusk252 : Thank you.

Man, I stayed up to 3am for the results. Totally worth it. I might have hated most of the results, but Homura (and Kurisu) advancing single-handedly made this the best news ever.
Also, maglor, I just had to say, but I really appreciate your efforts in campaining for Homura. Nice job you've been doing with that^^

It was close, but that's the way it is in war. You win or lose, live or die, and the difference is just an eyelash.

Victory!!! Homura managed to win her 2013 ISML prelim match and will now compete in the regular season. All this is possible because of your help. Our battle isn't over, since ISML is like a year-long marathon. Yet, unlike a marathon, it is extremely important to start off in full speed, since the early regular season results shape the perception of the character's popularity and pretty much determine their future. If you want Madoka Magica girls to get the full benefit of being part of ISML, please remember to vote for Homura on April 14th, the day ISML regular season starts. No matter what they say about her chances, if she manage to win the first 3 matches of regular season, her haters will scatter like leaves in strong wind, and Homura can make the playoffs. Please help. For the latest results and news, please visit
Again, Thank you.

Sigh... There go Kyouko and Mami, the only two remaining characters that I actually rather liked in ISML... I already stopped caring about ISML several years ago, though... Rarely has many quality characters...
| 03-19-13, 5:18 PM
Kyouko didn't get in?
I'm out. Another year of not giving a shit about ISML for me.

I would like to thank all of you for Homura's victory today in the 1st round of final phase of ISML preliminary. Sadly all the other Puella Magi lost, but they still put up respectable fights because of your support. About 11 hours from now, the final round of votes of 2013 ISML prelim will start. With a victory here, Homura can advance to the regular season and also claim the veteran status needed to be assigned to ISML Stella division in next year. However, if we lose this match, the 2000 Madoka Magica Haters will laugh at us forever, calling the girls overrated and many other things. You can easily see from today's regional support level maps (
) and time graphs ( for example -
) that there are thousands of MMM haters sharpening their knives to destroy Homura. Thus, tomorrow's vote will be very hard fought and we will need every vote you can rally to Homura's support. Please vote and campaign for Homura in websites you frequent. The links to the voting page is below

Kanade won regular season on 2011 and Mikoto won regular season on 2012, so despite the results in the Elimination Period differing, that's still pretty much "the same winners". Just look at the top 16 of every year and you'll see at least half of it stays unchanged.
Either way, I still faithfully vote in each round, simply because I love this kind of stats and stuff, and like voting for my favorite characters. (I actually couldn't care less about moe.)
| 03-18-13, 11:29 AM
2008 - Fate Testarossa
2009 - Hinagiku Katsura
2010 - Mio Akiyama
2011 - Mikoto Misaka
2012 - Kanade Tachibana
I wouldn't necessarily call that the same winners winning every year. Not like I care, anyway.
| 03-18-13, 8:27 AM
Well, I don't much care for ISML or moe in general anyway... I just keep voting because I might as well...
| 03-18-13, 6:50 AM
ISML is broken, the same winners every year always win. The japanese moe league is 100x better
