Mayu Shinjo (新條まゆ, Shinjō Mayu, born January 26, 1973) is a Japanese manga artist. She has created many different mangas, centering on the themes of love, sex, and general romance. She debuted in 1994 in Shōjo Comic with "Anata no Iro ni Somarita" ("I Want to Be Dyed Your Color"), after which she created a flurry of other sexy stories. From 1994 to 2007, she wrote for Shogakukan, with her work frequently appearing in the magazines Shōjo Comic and Cheese!.
Shinjo is best known for her mangas that put teenage girls into titillating situations with more handsome, older looking men. Her stories borderline hentai, but are more of a soft ecchi. In the United States, she is most famous for her manga Sensual Phrase (Kaikan Phrase), which has been made into both drama CDs and an anime television series. Only two of her works have been licensed in North America to-date: Sensual Phrase and Haou Airen, the latter of which has yet to be released.
