About fortissimo//Akkord

fortissimo//Akkord:Bsusvier is a Japanese 15+ visual novel developed by La'cryma, the same company that made True Tears ,Sora o Tobu, Mittsu no Houhou and Sora wo Tobu, 7tsu Me no Mahou, and Circus, well-known for their Da Capo games. It was released for PC on September 30, 2010. Its 18+ limited edition (the same game with an ero artbook) was also released on the same day. fortissimo serves as an incomplete product as the ending left the readers at a cliffhanger and there were no voices at all.

On March 31, 2011, a more completed version of fortissimo titled fortissimo EXA//Akkord:Bsusvier was released on PC with its limited edition. fortissimo EXA serves as a finished product for the original game with the completed story and added voices for all the characters. Sometime later, La'cryma released a patch for the epilogue of fortissimo EXA's ending, named Ein Re-encounter. This epilogue differs as it depends on which of the four heroines (Sakura, Sayuki, Momiji, Miki) your choices led you to.

Around one year and three months later, an 18+ version titled fortissimo EXS//Akkord:nachsten Phase was released on PC. This version added in H-scenes for all the main and side girls in the game. It also added in 2 new routes, Ahorn der Flamme (Momiji) and Schnee Kristall (Sayuki), while keeping the main route, Ein Kirschenbaum (Sakura). This version introduced one new character and two alternate versions of two existing characters. They are: Kuri Himeshiro, Loki, and Schwarz Ritter. La'cryma included in the 3 new openings for each of the routes. They also incorporated Ein Re-Encounter as an unlockable scene after you finished all three routes.

A new version, titled fortissimo FA//Akkord:nachsten Phase, is set to be released in December 20, 2013. This version is an all-ages version of fortissimo EXS, and a new OP was shown as a PV for this version. According to La'cryma, you would get a set of 81 cards for their new NEXT/ZERO card game they have been promoting, an artbook, titled [Ein Schlachtfeld], containing fanart for the La'cryma Quest competition, and an additional game disk. You get these three items with the game.

A sequel, titled Kadenz fermata//Akkord:fortissimo, is currently in production by both La'cryma and 5pb. Kadenz fermata is set to be released in December 11, 2014 for the Playstation Vita. The limited edition will include a soundtrack CD and an 11cm metallic paper knife. The pre-order bonus will be a costume code for the game to allow some characters in the game to wear different costumes from Chaos;Head Noah, Steins;Gate, and Robotics;Notes.

Kadenz fermata//Akkord:fortissimo Description

To cut open that “fate”.

It is not the end of this “battle story”.

In order to bring upon “justice”, an organization under the direct command of the special forces was formed. Its name was “The Seven Holy Knights”.

Having excelled in combat as a human and keeping the existence of “magic” a secret from society, a girl named Freya has shown excellent results to be recruited as a knight.

In order to be reunited with her long lost brother and leader of the "Seven Holy Knights", Julius, Freya returns to the island of eternal summer, where she was born and raised, to complete her very first mission.

That mission was said to have never been accomplished in history; it was to “defeat a mythical god”. Although it was subdued and sealed in the legends, this “mythical god” has been revived in this present day and age.

The enemies have transcended human intelligence, and their immortal existence has the ability to recreate the abilities of a mythical god. The seven “Mahoutsukai”

To go against them, seven people gathered in the name of justice. The “Seven Holy Knights”.

After analyzing the abilities of these mythical gods, in order to defeat them, they created the “strategic creation weapon of technology”, also known as “Miracle”. This ultimate artificial weapon was handed down to Freya, and used to challenge the mythical existences to a fight.

Ultimate Science (justice) vs. Mythical Magic (another justice)
A fight that no one had expected. Before long, the truth will lead one to a sad fate.

Mission difficulty: SSS-class.
The “Seven Holy Knights” were gathered to cut open the impossible fate. The human race will now face another holy war.

Lmao, the Kadenz cameos in Saenai are everywhere...even in this CG for the upcoming PSV game:

Rizor | 03-11-15, 7:50 PM
I don't mind the new faces either, just thought the flow would feel weird if they flipped back and forth between new and old.

Also I expect the game will take me 100 hours +. I tried something similar with DAL for PS3 and it took quite a bit of time to translate some lines, depending on the kanji. I eventually had to gave up with the unvoiced lines and some monologue.

Adding to my previous post, it seems like the character designer kinda changed his style a bit, especially the faces.

Even now, I still can't figure out why Reiji's face design for his sprite does not match his face from his CGs. Even fortissimo had that problem. I think it's his eyes lolz.

YoxalLoyal | 03-10-15, 9:51 PM
Yep, it's the Wogend one. Kinda wished La'cryma added the character's info like birthdays and measurements in the Kadenz artbook. Kinda curious to see how old the members of Seventh Chord were. The only person whose age we know is Mikoto lolz.

Comparing the battle CGs for fortissimo and Kadenz, I prefer Kadenz's better since the space background adds more to the CG compared to the normal background that fortissimo had. Also, it adds a variety of background colours depending on each character, which I really liked.

Enjoy the game once you start playing. It was a blast for me and the battle system, while it was confusing at first since I can't read Japanese, was pretty fun once you got the hang of it. Lol, hopefully you could prove me wrong on some points in my summary that I posted in the general discussion once you get to translating some scenes. I was basically guessing what the characters were saying the entire time.

Rizor | 03-10-15, 4:13 PM
I skimmed through it, but that sounds a bit strange they have CGs from EXA/EXS as the art looks a bit different. Well I'm looking forward to start the game soon, just hoping I don't have to translate too much text to understand the story.

Is the mini art book you mentioned the fortissimo Akkord nachsten Phase Concept Art and fortissimo_Akkord_Wogend right? Or is that something else?

YoxalLoyal | 03-09-15, 9:38 PM
Nice, glad that you enjoyed the artbook too.

The EXA/EXS CGs appeared in Kadenz fermata too. The only difference between the two was that Kadenz fermata's version had that space background for the battle CGs. The art gallery at the beginning was actually the game covers and the pre-order bonuses that some shops had. I was actually glad we got some full body sprite art, considering how fortissimo never really got an artbook on its own, except for that mini one that EXA had but it was in black and white.

Hope you didn't get spoiled that much from the CGs cuz they actually included EVERY single CG in the game into the artbook lolz.

Found it hilarious that the rough sketches only took like four pages.

Overall, the artbook was totally worth the money. Now, we just have to pray for a PC port for Kadenz...and hopefully an English localization for both games.

Rizor | 03-09-15, 7:56 PM
Just got the art book today, happy that they had CGs from EXA/EXS, but you're right, they should have had actually new art/rough sketches. It is really too bad they skipped Sayuki, Nagisa, Ayane and Momiji from the art gallery in the beginning.

YoxalLoyal | 03-06-15, 12:51 PM
Yep I saw it. It was on episode 2 right? There was the Freya poster you said, as well as the advertisement poster that was seen twice. Oh and the game cover when he was dumping all those games out of his bag.

Btw, got the artbook today. Lol, more than 50% of the book was filled with in-game CG.
