I've always had a problem with Gurren Lagann. Don't get me wrong, it's freaking amazing, but as a shipper I struggle to get my head around certain pairings.
You see, we get how Kamina X Yoko, Kittan X Yoko and Simon X Nia are officially canon, but there's a problem: <div class="spoiler"><input type="button" class="button" onClick="this.nextSibling.nextSibling.style.display='block';this.style.display='none';" value="Show spoiler"> <span class="spoiler_content" style="display:none"><input type="button" class="button" onClick="this.parentNode.style.display='none';this.parentNode.parentNode.childNodes[0].style.display='block';" value="Hide spoiler"><br>Kamina, Kittan and Nia all died, or "disappeared" in Nia's case<!--spoiler--></span></div>
Simon had feelings for Yoko in the first arc, and Yoko even tried to say something to him in Episode 7 before she went over to Kamina, but shook it off. Then, after Kamina died, I felt that Gainax lazily threw in Nia. What's wrong with pairing these two up, eh?
