Information

This club is dedicated to the late, great creative mastermind, Osamu Dezaki. Known for unique style and work along side Akio Sugino which has inspired so many over the years. His extensive resume includes some of the all time greats such as Ashita no Joe, Rose of Versailles, Space Adventure Cobra, Black Jack, Ace wo Nerae!, Nobody's Boy Remi among others. His legacy and contributions shall live on forever.

I got a copy of the series right after I posted that. Still haven't delved in just quite yet. I'll report back as well or maybe even write a review after I finish it since none exist.

Has anyone seen that one yet? I've never heard anything outstanding about it. But I've obviously been curious and might watch it soonish. So I'll let you know how it stacks up.

How does Legend of the Dragon Kings hold up to his other works? I've found the box set for pretty cheap, but I can't find much info regarding trustful reviews.

Story wise Cobra is one of the simpler shows under his belt, but it definitely oozes with style as well. I can't wait to watch the BD rips of that one. It'd be fantastic to see all of his stuff get the BD treatment.

There's some great movie directors out there with style, but such a thing is harder to come by in TV shows I'd say. Dezaki is definitely an exception and my favorite TV series anime director. After that my love for mecha gets me and I'd say Ryosuke Takahashi is my next favorite.

The only works I've seen thus far are Rose of Versailles and Treasure Island, but both are amoung my favourite shows I've seen, and are truly timeless works. I love his usage of crazy effects like freeze framing that truly catch the viewers attention, and his fantastic usage of drama that is very effective.

The only work of his I saw were the Air and Clannad movies, Ie Naki Ko Remi, and the first episode of Rose of Versailles at my college anime club, but I loved them all, and they were enough for me to fully respect Osamu Dezaki.
