Joe Hisaishi Fanclub

Information
A composer most well known for his work with animator Hayao Miyazaki, including the soundtracks to Spirited Away (2001), Howl's Moving Castle (2004), Princess Mononoke (1997), My Neighbour Totoro (1988), and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1983). [- Wikipedia]

His most recent work is for Miyazaki's newest film Gake no Ue no Ponyo (Ponyo on a Cliff,) releasing Summer 2008.

Cheers to this guy!

[In dire need of pictures and uhhh other fans...@.@"]

Decided to share one of my favorites. It's called "Summer" composed by Hisaishi and featured in the widely acclaimed film "Kikijuro no Natsu." Enjoy this solo performance by the legend himself.

Well... Hi there ;).
Personally, I think it'd be better to post the sample from Budokan concert, it shows the greatest of Joe even more than his Summer performance ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BL1SxHiGJM ).

What can I say... Hisaishi-san is probably the most influential person in my life ;).

i love hisaishi's work. even old one such as sasuraiger... too bad his old works never really got exposed completely... he is indeed a masterpiece..

I love all of Hisaishi's music, but the one that stands out the most to me was Spirited Away's OST. Listening to "Day of the River" reminds me how beautiful his scores are. A living legend he is.

I only noticed you made this club too now that you mention it, whoops.
I see it that way too (how people find the club if it suits their interests), but it seems some people simply don't expect or remember to look for a group on these composers? I'm sure many people loved the movies in which they composed music but forgot to check out the music more in details (which is understandable, because both Hisaishi and Susumu made music for also visually beautiful movies, not just musically). I didn't notice Miyazaki movies had beautiful soundtracks until I re-watched them.

I don't know if advertising is considered bad here, but maybe you could edit their page to include the fact groups to discuss more about them exist?

But yeah, I'm also quite lazy with some things so I know not to rush people since I don't like it myself :P

Now you're part of both of my music clubs.
Reminds me that I should update the club.
Try to bear with me as I am as lazy as they get and then some--yes, I have been entirely neglectful in inviting new members. I figure ppl will find the club if it suits their interests =\
