~ THE LAW OF UEKI~

The Law of Ueki tells the story of the Battle of the Supernatural Powers, a tournament to decide who will be the next King of the Celestial World (rendered as Kami (天界人) in Japanese, Godking in the Filipino vesion). Each candidate (100 in total) is required to choose a junior high school student to act as their fighter. Each student is given a unique power--the power to change one thing into something else. The winning King of the Celestial World Candidate (Godcandidate in the Filipino version) will become King of the Celestial World and the winning student will receive the Blank Talent (blank zai), a talent that can be anything they choose. While this leads many students to thoughts of greed and selfishness, Kosuke Ueki has decided to take it upon himself to win this tournament to keep that power away from those that would abuse such a gift.

*TRIVIAS*

*Ueki appeared briefly in the episode Saving Face of Kappa Mikey as a portrait in the background of Dr. Takashi Katashi's office. He also appeared in background and crowd scenes of the show.

*In a Geneon dubbed episode of the show, Ueki named the Heavenly Beast "Tenko" because Tenko has ten eyes.
Alternately, Tenko refers to 'Ten' from the Japanese word for heavenly beast and 'ko' meaning child, referring to Tenko's small form.

*Ueki also wears pinkish-red shoes during his first fight with Robert Haydn.

*It is mentioned in the show that Mr. K's least favourite food is pickled crickets.

*Besides Kilnorton, Ai is the only character in the show who loves her own glasses.

*When Tenko is first introduced in the series, Ueki mistakes him as a giant chicken.

*Ueki, Ai and Mr. K have tree-related family names (Ueki means "planting trees", Mori means "forest" and Kobayashi
means "little woods").

*~Ueki resembles Tōshirō Hitsugaya from Bleach with dark green hair instead of white hair. They both are also voiced by Romi Paku.

A little reminder to those of you who wanted to participate in the roleplay: as entertaining as it would be, I'm not sure that I can fight myself, so it would be nice if anybody who wants to play could submit a character ballot in the forum thread by the end of August. No rush, but I would like to get it started sooner rather than later.

Also, I noticed we've got a round twenty members in the club now, and apparently the newest one likes fruit. Nice!
