Jeanne d'Arc, Joan of Arc in English, is a historical figure greatly influencing modern-day literature and arts, and is one of the three major Saints of France. She was born a peasant, and claimed to have visions of God telling her to get her homeland's rightful land back from the English at a young age. She asked to gather an army, and in desperation, France let her. She dressed in men's clothing and fought valiantly, shocking many with her military skill. The English had managed to capture her, and put her through a trial, one that is used as proof of her intellect. Despite her attempts, she was charged with heresy and was burned at 19. She left a legacy for centuries after her life.
