Yuri, the leader of the Shinda Sekai Sensen, rebels against the god who destined her to have an unreasonable life. After dying, he lost his memories of the time when he was still alive. He becomes involved with the SSS and their fight against God after Yuri invites him to join the SSS. At first, he does not want to stay with the SSS, but joins them for his own safety against Angel. Otonashi originally wants to stay in the team until he regains his memories, but after learning about his past, he vows to stay with the SSS. Initially unskilled in any equipment, he starts to practice his marksmanship and pulls through for the team when they are in danger. Over the course of the anime, Otanashi grows closer towards Angel.
