Subbed Vs. Dubbed

Information
Lets finally finish the life long debate of subbed or dubbed. Fans of either side can use these boards and forums as they see fit to debate that everlasting question! Some say dubbed brings an easier feel to the anime, while some say subbed retains the natural feel of the anime and makes it easier for the laguage to be translated more literally. I really dont know so you guys tell me!

Why can't dubs and subs just coexist (PLZ read description before answering)?

Lolll~ Osaka seal of approval! ;D

Also, not all dubs are that bad~

Some of them are actually pretty amazing, especially when they match the characters of the voices.

However, like... other times it sounds too... american... ized..? or western-ized, and they pronounce the... honorifics... is it, weird, such as kun, san, chan, etc~

I'm not really anti-dub... The first anime episode I ever watched was dubbed, so basically dubbed anime introduced me to the world of anime XD. However I would never watch a dubbed anime now. I think watching series dubbed ruins the anime experience...

I don't mind dubbs, but i seriously prefer subbs if i can get them. For some weird reason, everytime the Americans dub an anime, everything they say sounds totally ridiculous and corny. lol :) I saw "Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust" with the dubbs, it was great, but the japanese voices are way better.

In terms of voice acting ... raw > dubbed ... if i dont want to pull my hair out. Have you ever tried to compare for instant negima?! , its like you are watching a totally unbelievably horrible story when it is in english.

I don't really care. There are good things and bad things about both.

There are horrible Dubs, but there are some that imo are better than the subs(FMA, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop). They let us here the story in our native language. However, when they try to americanize things (Case Closed, Yu-gi-oh, Naruto, One Piece, etc) I avoid it like the plague and if i liked the concept ill watch the subs.

Subs on the other hand have a more diverse library of shows. The Japanese VAs can put in a lot more emotion into their roles then their Dub counterparts. There are so many good animes airing and un-airing that will never see a dub happen to it(thank god). Genres such as romance, slice-of-life, harem, and a lot of others would not get the same ratings elsewhere as they do in Japan, because that is the target audiance, resedents of Japan, this will lead to horrible americanizations to try and fix this. I can think of 2 flaws in subs, some people who dont like to read will lose interest fast, and who can forget one of the most hated internet menaces Weeaboos. Watching subs will cause people to think they know how to speak Japanese even though they only know a few words or phrases(some badly misspelled).

I hope this post will cause some thought at the subject, if not aren't you all nothing but fanboys/fangirls of the side you represent?
