What is GEC?
GEC or Graphical Effects Contest is a graphics competition here on MAL bringing you out of the box themes and new types of challenges.

GESC? GE(S)C? GES? GEC? EpiContest?! What's with all the names?
We are not sure either but what we can tell you is that we currently have GESC as a competition for Signatures and GE(S)C/GEC as a graphical contest with different form requirements (e.g. Movie Posters). Always check the current entry thread to make sure what are you up against ;D

Indeed. So, how can I enter?
Every month we start entry rounds for our latest contests with specific themes. You can send an entry that corresponds to the theme.

Are there any other criteria?
You can always read the specific rules in the entry thread.

Do I have to use specific elements or techniques like brushes or C4D?
You are free to do so, but unless the current theme specifies it, you are in no way obliged.

So that means I can just crop a nice stock and put some text on it?
While technically it's legal, it's not very elegant towards the other contestants who put more effort into it. Keep that in mind!
