Gemini: Two of the midnight sun RPG

Prolouge <div class="spoiler"><input type="button" class="button" onClick="this.nextSibling.nextSibling.style.display='block';this.style.display='none';" value="Show spoiler"> <span class="spoiler_content" style="display:none"><input type="button" class="button" onClick="this.parentNode.style.display='none';this.parentNode.parentNode.childNodes[0].style.display='block';" value="Hide spoiler"><br> The first of June is a dark time. The people born under this day are cursed with a burden that resides within them. They are feared when it is their birthday for on this day something bad happens a dark omen if you will. The reason why they are feared is because they have a twin that is dormant inside them. On the day of their birth the twin switches places with the main twin and cause havoc on the lands. Many die on this black, black day. Only a few of them people living near stay alive, but on the day of regoning many rose up and met the twin then killed them on the spot, while killing the main twin as well. Thousands of the twins died and when the last is gone the people vowed to never let a twin set live, but they give them a name so to be recognized from the rest. And that name is Gemini.<!--spoiler--></span></div> CHAPTER 1 <div class="spoiler"><input type="button" class="button" onClick="this.nextSibling.nextSibling.style.display='block';this.style.display='none';" value="Show spoiler"> <span class="spoiler_content" style="display:none"><input type="button" class="button" onClick="this.parentNode.style.display='none';this.parentNode.parentNode.childNodes[0].style.display='block';" value="Hide spoiler"><br> Several hundred years after the day of regoning more Gemini have been slayed, but few have run, hidden, into the distant mountain trees and banned together. Most think no Geminis’ remain in their village, but one is hiding. A young girl born on the first of June was hidden from the face of other for fourteen long years she has been passed as a normeral or other people in the village. They know nothing of her day of birth or what her mark shows what she really is all they know is a name. And her name is Kaylaveen.<!--spoiler--></span></div> CHAPTER 2 <div class="spoiler"><input type="button" class="button" onClick="this.nextSibling.nextSibling.style.display='block';this.style.display='none';" value="Show spoiler"> <span class="spoiler_content" style="display:none"><input type="button" class="button" onClick="this.parentNode.style.display='none';this.parentNode.parentNode.childNodes[0].style.display='block';" value="Hide spoiler"><br> “Kaylaveen…Kaylaveen” said a voice in the distance. I looked and saw a girl looking at me. She looked like me, but her eyes, voice and spirit said otherwise. “Kie” I said. She smiled and raced towards me. Her silver moonshine hair swished when she ran. Her eyes were dark and a deep ocean color, not entirely blue, but something else as well. “Kaylaveen it’s nearly our time to switch” Kie said. “Almost time for me to go to the room” I said sadly. Her eyes were soft, but fierce as well. I stared at her knowing she was happy, but I couldn’t help feel sad for her as well. I knew the outer world better than she did all she ever saw was the black room that Mither put us in. She only saw this freely, on her own. Mither is our stepmother as well as our aunt. When mother died she married father. She knew about us, Kie and I, and when it was our day, the day we were born, she locked us up in the black room. After the day passed she let us out again. I never understood why she did this all I knew was that it was an order we must follow. I stood there as the shadows dimed and the light appeared. Kie went with the shadows for a reason. She never has seen the sun only the moon which she called the midnight sun. She wanted to be on the outside more than anything in the world. I felt her pain and sadness when we departed. I also felt her anger. The rage boiled under my skin when she was angry and it felt like was set to take me out though it never did. Mither shook me awake then left. I looked and saw the sun was just over the horizon. As I got up Kie bubbled with excitement knowing it was just three short days then our day would be here. I looked in the mirror water and saw the silver shining out of the brown hair-down. Mither was going to have a fit since she only did the hair-down just yesterday. The brown eye-dye was fading, figures it’s been a month since it was last added to my eyes. The deep blue-green showed after a few minutes and I blinked the last of the eye-dye away. “Kaylaveen get in here now!” Father called. He sounded serious and angered, but I didn’t know why. I entered the main room of our keep. And saw Mither and Father standing, waiting. “Kaylaveen have a rest” He said pointing to the feather down stool in the room. I sat down and looked at my father. His face was angered, but his eyes were worried and concern. “Kaylaveen do you know why I called you here?”He asked. I shook my head no for I had not the answer. “Kaylaveen we know you going on your fifteenth year very soon and as you know that the day of reorganization soon follows after right?” Mither asked. I nodded for Kie and I knew that on the day of reorganization was not only the day young men our age would claim us, but it was also the day mother passed on. I sat there starring at my feet. “Kaylaveen we know you don’t have a boy in mind, but we know a few who admire you from a fa-” “I don’t care about the boys here…they don’t know the truth and never will so I won’t be claimed by any of them…besides they would cover if they made me mad…” I said cutting of Mither. She took a step back in fear and I looked at my hand seeing my birthmark glowing a deep violet setting. It stung for a second then when I covered it a ball of light flashed the disappeared. This didn’t surprise me I’ve done it before…when I last saw mother. Father grabbed my arm and threw me into the black room then shut the door and locked it. Leaving me to myself, or so he thinks. A few moments later after the stinging on my back dimmed Kie appeared angered at father’s behavior. She sat on her knees and pulled me towards her and leaned her head on mine. “Father shouldn’t have done that you only spoke the truth” Kie said. “I know, but I said something I shouldn’t have and I made the light appear again…” I said after a few moments of silent darkness. “Still you don’t think Father would do that to his own daughter would he?” She asked. I shrugged not knowing yet another answer. I looked at my hand noting the double lines crossing on the sides as well as on the top and bottom that curved in the middle making a strange rectangle. Nearly a day later Mither let me out and Kie disappeared. “Come on let me do your hair and eyes then you do out” She said. I left the black room and sat on the floor so Mither could do my hair. The hair-down smelled like old mud and something else, but it was quick and bearable. The eye-dye however stung and lasted longer so my eyes were burning and felt like they would deteriorate away. After the whole was done I looked like mother and not myself or Kie. I walked outside and saw other girls my age racing around to find their heir flower. I walked away from the village knowing that mine and Kie’s flower was a ways from the village. The walk was long, but comforting ‘cause the sun was covered and Kie was able to be there with me. A few paces later the rain drizzled down and soaked the land. I didn’t bother Kie or I it only made us happy even more. Allowing us to forget the village and the troubles it had. In a forest nearby we saw our flower. A dark lily that only Kie and I know where to get. “AH! They are beautiful this year” Kie said smiling. I nodded and picked a few and let the rest have their shining moments. I heard rustling nearby and looked around. Kie did the same then disappear when the sun came out. I stood up and saw something moving in the trees. I went to the tress to see who or what was in there making the leaves move. “Who’s there?” I asked. More rustling at my left then I saw a pair of eyes. They were strange, but familiar at the same time. The eyes got closer then I saw that they belonged to a boy my age and they were the color of my eyes when not mixed with the eye-dye. “Who are you?” The boy asked. I stared at him then a hand went on my shoulder that made me jump. “This girl is from the village Rya” A voice said. “I know Royan” He said back to the voice. Kie appeared again and grabbed me then shoved me behind her. “Who are you two?” She asked defensive. The guy, Rya, and the voice, who was another guy, Royan, came out of the tress. They were the same, but Royan’s eyes were a crimson color and both had yellow hair, yellow as the grain in nearby valleys. I stared at them then they turned at each other. “What are you looking at?” They both asked. “You tow are alike…just like us” I said shocked. “Yeah there is a lot of us…you should know that” Rya said. Shook my head. “We didn’t know…we thought we were the only ones.” Kie said. “Heh then the village doesn’t know about you” Rya said. I nodded. “What are your names?” Royan asked. “I’m Kie and this is Kaylaveen” Kie introduced us. “Kie and Kaylaveen…Kie is the dormant one right?” Rya asked. We nodded. “Rya here is the dormant one on our side.” Royan said. Rya gave a blank stare at Royan. “Alright I’m the dormant one” Royan said. “Happy mister I’m-the-main-one?” Rya nodded. “But really I’m the main he’s the dormant one” Royan said in a whisper that Rya noticed and bopped him on the head. “Alight let them find out here comes the sun” Royan said pointing. I looked up and saw that he was right then I looked back. Kie and Rya were gone. “See?” Royan said. I nodded then I heard shouts coming over the hills. “I gotta go nice meeting you” I said running to the hills.<!--spoiler--></span></div> CHAPTER 3 <div class="spoiler"><input type="button" class="button" onClick="this.nextSibling.nextSibling.style.display='block';this.style.display='none';" value="Show spoiler"> <span class="spoiler_content" style="display:none"><input type="button" class="button" onClick="this.parentNode.style.display='none';this.parentNode.parentNode.childNodes[0].style.display='block';" value="Hide spoiler"><br> “Kaylaveen where have you been? This sun’s going down!” Mither said. I entered the keep tired from running the whole way back. “Don’t tell me you’ve been near the trees again…how many times do we have to tell you not to go there?” Mither asked. She was getting on my nerves and Kie was getting angry. “You don’t tell me what to and what not to do. You’re not my mother Mither” I said. Her and father’s eyes got wide the n father smacked me across the face, hard. I landed sideways on the ground. My face stung and my eyes watered then anger bubbled through my veins as I got up. Suddenly I was floating and I heard screams so I looked down and saw myself attacking father, but it wasn’t me…nor was it Kie ‘cause she suddenly came up behind me and shield my eyes from the event only allowing herself to see. I heard screams of terror and pain then silence. The silence is what scared me the most. I felt myself being brought back down then my eyes were covered again. Something fell from my hands, but Kie wouldn’t allow me to see what it was. I heard the front entrance opening and Kie dragged me out of the keep. The air was dry and the sky was dark as well. I didn’t know where to go only that I was with Kie. We kept going then she stopped and looked at me. “Kaylaveen…back there…we both know that was neither of us…that was darkness and pain a-and anger a-a-and something else” She said. I dropped to my knees. I still didn’t know what was on my hands and I didn’t want to know. “That was all in our hearts Kaylaveen” she kept going on. We heard screams then more and more of ongoing terror. I didn’t notice, until we got to a creek, that my hair and eyes were normal again. But something was different; I saw something in my eyes, something that I never saw before. I saw a third person that was me, but not me. I got scared and ran towards the trees. Tears flooded down my face only they weren’t of joy or sadness, but of terror. I heard rustling then someone calling my name. Only I didn’t hear it. A hand grabbed my arm and flung me back, making me hit something. “Kaylaveen what’s the matter?” I heard Rya’s voice. “RYA!” Kie shouted. She came towards us. I stood there shaking only hearing mummers of the questions and the answers. Royan joined a little later after I calmed down. “So…What happened…Why were you freaking out?” Royan and Rya asked. I couldn’t speak only shake. My throat was closed and I started choking, but then I realized that it was all in my head. I breathed in and out. In and out, in, out, I- “What happened?” They asked again. “I-I-I don’t k-know I said frightened. “Kie?” They asked her. Kie put her hand on my shoulder. I couldn’t stop shaking as she pulled me into her lap. “Something happened…something bad…no horrible happened” Kie started. Rya and Royan sat there waiting for more. Kie covered my ears…though there was no need to I knew what happened. I knew…I knew.
