Profile

One of the most distinguished warriors in the Sengoku Era who opposes Tokugawa Ieyasu to the end. Wields two jūmonji-yari, vey hot-blooded and is fanatically loyal to Takeda Shingen. Also one of the main characters in Sengoku Basara. Is often depicted in a rivalry with Masamune and is a common "punching bag" for Takeda's unnecessary brawls, though he always looks at it as a test of strength.

In his gaiden in Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes, Yukimura receives "special" training from Shingen and gets Sasuke involved, though he doesn't approve of it. In the end, Yukimura succeeds and tries to hit Shingen with his 'new found strength', only to hit Sasuke and gets a punch to the face by Shingen, sending Yukimura flying away. Yukimura's gaiden can be looked as an introduction to Heroes' new features: the Daruma mini-game and the electric fence.

Another point..

Not sure about you but I am sure Sanada Yukimura isn't the type to abandon his comrades in battle while fleeing for selfish reasons. Perhaps, I am not too sure about Sanada Yukimura but..

When low-ranking members of the Date clan were abducted by Matsunaga, Katakura Kojuurou along with Date Masamune even in their injured state and also that it is pretty risky to risk their lives to save low-ranking officers that they can easily draft again, yet they went to save them along with their precious treasure. It depends on how you look at it. Family and kids are important but your comrades are also very important, especially during the times of Sengoku.

Sanada Yukimura does not have any kids or a wife during his battle against Oda Nobunaga in the anime or game, I believe. The guy was just fighting for Shingen Takeda and their clan. More over, they just couldn't let Oda Nobunaga win as that it will result in needless bloodshed. If you do not have a family or kids, then it wouldn't matter, right?

Of course, during the period of Sengoku. There were tons of men who fought to death even with a family and kids. Its just that it can't be helped.. Also, many of these good men also end up killing other good men in battle as that they were fighting on different sides and it also couldn't be helped..

@kira: well a young general like yukimura has to have goals in life rather that fight a battle with no end... if you were in his place and he has a family and kids what would you do? leave them fatherless and die in a losing battle?

Why is that bothering you?

If you are fighting for the sake of your clan and also your life, 5 arrows and a few slashes shouldn't mean much as that continue fighting is a lot better than dying at the hands of the enemies. Of course, there are always a number of foolish people who chooses to surrender out of sheer hope that mercy will handed out. In some cases, the hope is almost guaranteed. However, this is the Oda Nobunaga and his clan, you can't expect mercy. Thus, Sanada Yukimura will fight til death. Makes sense?

yeah..

but in truth date masmune and sanada were rivals do to the fact they had equal fighting skills in battle but... somethings bothering me..... why did he still kept on fighting after he was shot with like 5 arrows in the back and got slashed multiple times in battle between nobunaga and his lord.

I have no idea why he is renamed as the Azure Dragon in the NA version, while that Sanada Yukimura gets the name Red Scorpio. Pretty strange..
