The personage eponym of this history is the apprentice of the defunct Kiron, a famous swordsman of kingdom of Chronos. His true name is Sébastien but it dissapeared from his memory while jumping of a cliff to escape an assassin when he was only four years old. When he fights Kirion (the assassin who killed his mother), he changes his name to Ares, a reference to the war God.

Thanks to the teachings of his master, Ares quickly learns how to make the blood flow, but only in cases of legitimate defense, after provocations in duel. This rule was originally aimed at his master Kirion, but exceptions could be made. The red-eyed swordsman than appeared, stabbing Ares' right eye and killing his master. Since than, the young swordfigher declared revenge.

The manga begins when he is eighteen years old and finds himself in the Temple of the Mercenary ones of the Country of Chronos, at the same time as Barrona and Michael.

His goal is to become strong enough to kill the red-eyed swordsman, avenging his master.
