Ultraviolet 044
First casualty of a hot summer droppage.
Never mind the big names behind this show, if you can't get into the character(s) nor the plot, I don't think there's much reason to go on with it, unless you have much time to spare, something I don't exactly have atm.
Hello Old-school animes, Hello Summer
In line with my anticipated upcoming summer animes, I decided to watch Birdy the Mighty OVA, as well as a little of Aika and City Hunter (both of which I intend to compare with Yakushiji Ryouko). Now I'm totally hyped for Birdy the Mighty!! It's a great show, certainly won't disappoint. I love the antics of the 2-in-1 Tsutomu-Birdy, and despite having a little hope of a romance budding between these two, I think they're just gonna be partners for life because there's another girl in Tsutomu's life. Episode 3 made me love that girl Natsumi as well.
As for Aika, UGH. The action scenes seemed to have been included in this show simply for the sake of pandering, showing panty shots in each and every kicks and low camera angle. Even in their battered state you see them BARE IT ALL (well, almost). Thanks to that, I can assure people that Yakushiji Ryouko is nothing like that crap Aika. Yakushiji Ryouko gives me City Hunter vibes, and my City Hunter rewatch just reaffirmed that. Now I feel like watching the entire City Hunter series!
Playing Shugo Chatch-up
(This is the third time I'm writing this entry; first attempt was utter fail because I forgot to submit my entry before closing firefox, second attempt was futile as well because MAL was down when I submitted it, and forgot to save my entry before closing firefox T__T)
I just want to say that I managed to catch up with Shugo Chara, till episode 25 (Nikaidou's arc), and it was BAWWsome. That's about it, I'll save the rest for a proper blog post in my blog! (since I've been given 'signs' that this blog post doesn't really deserve to be here >:( )
Kure-nai 10
I was expecting to hate this episode, based on the reviews I've been hearing, the lame-ification of Shinkurou compared to his more decisive novel persona. But that didn't happen. After watching ep10, I'm still moved as ever. Great execution, with almost all the characters paving the way for Shin to realize what he wants. The anime has certainly brought ALL the characters to life, fleshing out all of them like the [first volume of the] novel never had.
Macross F: Pure Awesomeness
From watching ROOKIES, to semi-marathoning Macross F, this day has been such a great anime and dorama feast / bonding time with anikis~!
For Macross F, well what can I say [that hasn't already been said about it], it was PURE AWESOMENESS, inside (pierces through the depths of your soul) and out (visual feast +__+), and just about everything in between.
From the visual eyecandies, to the characters (Alto-sama~! <3 Ranka-chan mo <3), and the wonderful music, Macross F has been a totally orgasmic experience.
I owe a big thanks to my Macross-tard anikis for enlightening me on a lot of Macross technical stuff, to which I can only go "oohh~ O_O" in amazement. Marathoned 5 eps today (rewatched the pre-ep 1 too), and I'm so craving for moarr.
Here is Greenwood: Falling in Love the 2nd Time Around
While I don't exactly remember falling in love with this OVA when I first watched it (which was like almost a decade ago), I think I actually did, unconsciously so. And now I finally got to rewatch it, after years... and I loved it to bits. Despite the brevity of the anime, the characters grows on you a whole LOT. And it goes without saying that I cried while watching, again. Great old school anime <3
