For Black Friday, Adobe had a sale of the subscription price for their "All Apps" package of production. I've been considering subscribing to at least get Premiere for a while now and while struggling to get used to GIMP, a free Photoshop alternative, I kind of wanted to get real Photoshop as well. And, since subscriptions those two products together was more expensive than the "All Apps" sale price, and since there were other programs in that package that I could find a use for, I went ahead and got the subscription!
I'd already used Photoshop for some basic image editing for my Darkstalkers Live-Action post, and now I've used Premiere to do some basic video editing to make my first complete full-length anime music video! Prior to this, the only AMV credit I had to my name was as part of AMV Hell Divided By 0 from 2008, the second X-rated project in the AMV Hell series and is now officially disowned by the creator of the series (along with the first AMV Hell 0). So, it's kind of nice that I now have another complete project to my name! And, it's all me this time around.
As I said, this is all very basic video editing, with me just trying to get familiar with using Premiere. This is an AMV for Asobi Asobase to "YAVA!" by Babymetal, one of my favorite songs by them, and a pretty fitting song for the anime since people tend to compare the Asobi Asobase ending theme to Babymetal. It took me 4 days to make the AMV, probably a little under 20 hours of work total?? I don't know. I wasn't really tracking. Anyway, here's the AMV!
Also, a direct download of the AMV can be found on AMV.org. This was fun to put together and I hope to learn more about video editing and such, like making things of better video quality and having that properly upload to YouTube at that same quality (I really don't know why the video quality on YouTube is noticeably worse than even the LQ file I had to upload to AMV.org when I used a file that was nearly double the size for YouTube). I have a ton of different ideas for AMVs that I want to make and since I'm paying $40 a month for my Adobe programs, I'm going to do my best to not let them go to waste! And on a nice note, since I've now completed an AMV, this is now a New Year's Resolution that I've officially succeeded at! Yay! ^_^
Somewhat recently, my friend David and I were hanging out BS’ing and the subject of the Moster Hunter live-action movie came up, mostly due to us both watching the trailer reaction from Double Toasted. Somehow our discussion evolved into hypothetical video games that “filmmaker” Paul W. S. Anderson could also badly adapt into a US live-action movie (or series of movies). One of the first video games that we thought of was Darkstalkers and we talked about it for so long that we ended developing casting picks for 10 of the major characters for the movie! I saved that information and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to record it here, complete with pictures for each casting pick.
So let’s be clear: this is all just for fun! I call this a “Dream” Casting with dream in quotes because this is largely meant as a joke. And for the record, I have VERY LITTLE KNOWLEDGE about the Darkstalkers franchise, but I feel like that makes me in a way extra-qualified to help create this list! With that said, if this sounds at all like it might be fun for you, click on the spoiler button and read on!
“Dream” Casting - Darkstalkers US Live-Action Movie
Milla Jovovich as Morrigan Aensland
Of course with this being a Paul W. S. Anderson video game movie, Milla Jovovich HAS to play the female lead! And we think she is fitting enough as Morrigan. And I’m sure she’ll make the character wonderfully boring.
Sam Worthington as Demitri Maximoff
David has a bit of a weird obsession with this Sam Worthington dude with how he is pretty much the defacto bland white male lead. So here he is! David was starting to develop a general plot for how Demitri would come into play as the main character, but I don’t remember all that much about it, and is it really all that important??
Cardi B as Felicia
With T.I. being a “major name” co-star for the Monster Hunter movie, we wanted to keep the theme of music artists as actors for this hypothetical Darkstalkers movie. And I felt that Cardi B would make a fitting Felicia and would do well to piss off a lot of fans in glorious fashion.
Jared Leto as Jedah Dohma
One of the big issues of discussion when David and I was talking about this casting was that we couldn’t have too many true “big-name” actors. Jared Leto was the only truly big name that we decided would be okay with putting on the cast. We were even starting to make excuses of how maybe he really connected with Jedah for some reason? Or that he’s a big Darkstalkers fan? Or that he maybe lost some clout after his Suicide Squad Joker?? Whatever!
Belle Delphine as Lilith Aensland
This one just came to me and I thought it was weirdly perfect. It’s so perfect in my mind that I’m a little surprised that I couldn’t find any pictures of Belle cosplaying as Lilith. I mean, she has done Cammy from Street Fighter. Maybe it’s just a matter of time??
Patrick Warburton as Jon Talbain (voice)
We decided that Jon Talbain would take up a good portion of the budget for this movie as the most intensive amount of CGI to make this character. So we mainly just needed to cast the voice and I thought it would be amusing to have the voice of Brock Samson from The Venture Bros. And hey, what the hell. I think it would be amusing to have a brief scene of Patrick actually playing the human version of Jon just for fun.
Jamie Chung as Hsien-Ko
I’ve never watched Dragonball Evolution (and probably never will), but I thought it’d be amusing to have one of the actors from that movie in this one. And when I saw that Jamie Chung started as a reality TV star, that was just icing on the cake!
Tekashi69 as Lord Raptor
So while I’m sure Cardi B as Felicia can get a good amount of hate from dumb conservatives and incels, it seems like pretty much everyone hates Mr. 6ix9ine as a crappy excuse for a human being. So yeah, lets throw him in here, too!
Olivia Holt as Baby Bonnie Hood
Honestly, B.B.Hood was the hardest one for us to cast. As mentioned in the “Jared Leto as Jedah Dohma” entry, we didn’t want to have a lot of major names and most of the fitting young actresses that we could think of for this character just felt too big for this movie. Millie Bobby Brown? Yeah, she could fit well, but she’s too big for this now. Elle Fanning? No, way too big. Together, the two of us couldn’t really thing of anyone who’d work. However, it was bugging me so much and I really wanted B.B.Hood in the movie, so I ended up just Googling young Disney actresses and such. This actress is the best I could come up with to fit the character. So yeah, absolutely the least “inspired” pick of this casting, but I think she looks the part at least.
Fred Durst as Victor von Gerdenheim
And lastly, Limp Bizkit has become a bit of a running joke between me and David. We’ve pretty much agreed that this is the music from our high school years that has had the biggest drop-off of aging absolutely horribly. It just sounds SO BAD and LAME these days!! So I think I originally suggested that wacky Wes Borland would make a good Lord Raptor, but I later switched that to Tekashi69. But after Fred Durst made The Fanatic, David and I kind of developed this little “headcanon” that Fred Durst desperately wants to be an actor, so here we are giving him that opportunity! And it also ties into our shoehorning of music artist into this cast, so it works out!
And that’s it! If anyone out there happened to stumble upon this, I hope you enjoyed it as much as David and I enjoyed talking about it! Strangely enough, the more I look at these images with the actors and characters side-by-side, the less and less ridiculous this casting actually looks to me. Anyway, this has been fun to put together! Until next time, laters!
Quite simply, this is a single place where any of the memes that I’ve made can live and be shared. I haven’t made a whole lot at the moment, but I do like making these on occasion when inspiration strikes. And of course, since anime/manga is one of my top hobbies, many of these are related to such. If you’re interested in checking this stuff out, click the below “Spoiler” button!
Memes I’ve Made
I have something of a complicated relationship with Death Note which I won’t go too deep into here. Let’s just say that I am not a Death Note fan and a lot of other people are. This is probably my biggest “unpopular opinion” compared to other anime fans and it eventually began to amuse me quite a bit, hence why I ended up making this meme. =P
When Senjougahara cut her hair and it wasn’t all that explicitly spelled out why she cut her hair (felt like it kind of just happened), I just had the thought that NISIOISIN must have something against girls with long hair. So, this meme was born. Apparently Medaka Kurokami even cuts her hair at some point?! I need to get into that series....
So I’ve never watched any of JoJo and probably never will, but I’ve heard enough about it that I was confident in making this meme. And when I posted this to Facebook, some friends of mine who are JoJo fans confirmed its accuracy. While Steven Crowder (the dude pictured in the meme) seems to be a total ass-hat who I totally disagree with on pretty much all of his views (including the original version of his sign), I don’t really mind doing this meme. In a way, making this into something so asinine as comparing JoJo to Doctor Who amuses me.
Something for all my grammar-nazis out there!! So I never really got into Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law (I think I’ve MAYBE seen one episode all the way through). However, I do have a few friends who enjoyed the series. And for whatever reason, said friends tend to reference this scene from the series quite a bit, to the point where it became a bit of a recurring inside joke that even I began to say a lot, even though I’d never seen the episode. Variants of this meme (with all there/their/they’re combinations) can be found behind the spoiler button....
Getting a little political here! So when Trump referenced “bad dudes” to justify an immigration ban, the idea for this meme popped in my head. I’d never even played the video game that inspired this meme, but I’ve seen it referenced enough to have it in my head. And FYI, I am a proud owner of a Full Frontal with Samantha Bee “Bad Dude” t-shirt.
Let’s continue with another Trump-inspired meme, shall we?? This one is far less political, though. When Kanye West made headlines (at least when it comes to anime news) for tweeting about Akira, an older tweet that “ye” made in support of Trump, and Trump’s subsequent re-tweet, immediately came to mind. So, I just had to make this meme, replacing Trump with Tetsuo.
Please forgive me for this meme which is pretty much not related at all to anime or any other geek fandom (other than the fact that Millie Bobby Brown and Ellen Page have both had roles in things that geeks may love). So, with that out of the way, there’s a bit of a backstory to this meme. But to save me from having to write a short essay explaining this, lets just say you would have to both be familiar with a somewhat lesser-known movie called Hard Candy as well as the weird relationship between Millie Bobby Brown and the rapper Drake if you want to understand this meme. So yeah, when the “relationship” between these two was being talked about, it made me think of Hard Candy, so this parody for a reboot movie poster was born!!
As I’m sitting at the edge of the bed, my father knocks at the door with a warm smile. It’s the kind of smile that I don’t know if I’ve ever seen from him before.
He asks how I’m doing and sits beside me. The two of us talk about life.
Our various hopes and dreams.
Things we’ve gone through in the past.
How things are going now.
What I want from my future.
I learned new things about my father and got some issues off of my chest. It was all very...
Nice.
However, under his almost-alien smile, there was a sense of sadness.
For some reason, dad knows that he is going to die soon and I’m beginning to know it, too.
Despair begins to creep into my heart. I don’t want this to end. This new and lovely moment.
But then it hits me: a flash of a vision.
A memory...
My father’s face, eyes closed, in an open casket.
This can’t be. None of this can ever be.
That warm smile, this nice heart-to-heart.
It never happened and never will. Dad is already dead and he has been for years.
Tears stream down my face as I feel a level of grief that I haven't felt for a long, long time. It’s a pain worse than any physical torture I could imagine. I feel my heart break and wonder how I can ever pull through...
Well, to balance out the sad blog post that I made today, how about something pretty cool that happened today?! So one of my New Year's Resolutions was to Paint More Game Minis and Get Better, with a concrete stipulation to at least finish painting all six of the minis from my copy of Thunderstone Quest. Well, between last night and this morning, I've done it!
It's not that great of a picture from my old stand-alone digital camera, but it will due. I thought that I might have to do more work to the mage girl (the blue-base mini), but when I looked at her again, I liked how she was already (I'd done her paint job last year while Dan was running a painting class at the local game store). I liked the simple, almost cartoon-like look of it and painted the other minis to match. I'm satisfied with the results. The mini that I usually use is the Bard/Adventurer looking one, which I gave an orange base. Orange has kind of become "my color" when available ever since Galaxy Trucker.
But yeah, one Resolution down! Although I would like to do some more minis painting this year when I have a chance. It's fun! ^_^
Okay, so in my previous post I talked about trying to convert the Eberron D&D Artificer class into the Pathfinder RPG system. Here is my attempt to do this through the Oracle class:
Artifice - Oracle Mystery
Deities: Abadar, Torag. Class Skills: An oracle with the artifice mystery adds Appraise, Disable Device, Knowledge (arcana), Perception, and Use Magic Device to her list of class skills. Bonus Spells: Magic Weapon (2nd), Make Whole (4th), Magic Vestment (6th), Magic Weapon, Greater (8th), Wall of Stone (10th), Animate Objects (12th), Refuge (14th), Spell Immunity, Greater (16th), Gate (18th).
Revelations: An oracle with the artifice mystery can choose from any of the following revelations.
Artisan Bonus (Ex): You gain a +1 bonus on Use Magic Device checks to activate items of the kind for which you have the prerequisite item creation feat. This bonus increases by 1 for every 5 Oracle levels giving a +2 at level 5, +3 at level 10, +4 at level 15, and +5 at level 20.
Construct Affects (Su): Whenever you cast cure or inflict spells (spells with “cure” or “inflict” in their names), they may be used to affect objects and constructs instead of living or undead creatures. This use changes the spell type to transmutation instead of conjuration (healing) or necromancy.
Crafting Expertise (Ex): You gain Brew Potion and Craft Wondrous Item as bonus feats. In addition, whenever you take any of the following Item Creation Feats: Craft Construct (see the Bestiary, page 314), Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Craft Rod, Craft Staff, Craft Wand, or Forge Ring; you may select a second feat from this list. You gain the second feat as soon as you reach the required caster level. You must be at least 3rd level to select this revelation.
Fast Crafting (Ex): You gain the ability to craft magical items at a faster rate. When determining the time required to perform the crafting of magic items, reduce the base price by 25%. At 15th level you become even faster, reducing the base price by 50% when determining the time required for making an item. This only affects the crafting time of the item. Crafting cost is still based on the actual base cost of the item (unless you also have Resourceful Crafting). You must be at least 7th level to select this revelation.
Item Creation (Ex): You gain Scribe Scroll as a bonus feat. You also gain the ability to emulate spell prerequisites for spell-trigger and spell-completion items by making Use Magic Device checks (DC 20 + caster level). Scrolls made in this way cannot be used by spellcasters to learn spells. In addition, you may use this check to emulate spell prerequisites in other items or you may emulate any other prerequisites as described by the Use Magic Device skill to avoid the +5 increases on craft DC for not meeting prerequisites for an item. You may attempt these checks once each day of crafting. If you come to the final day and still have not made a check, you may attempt the check one last time even if you already failed the check that day. If that check also fails and it was to emulate a spell prerequisite for a spell-trigger or spell-completion item, then the creation process fails and the time and money expended to craft the item are lost. Otherwise, the final craft DC for the item is increased by +5 for each missing prerequisite as normal.
Magic Ability Casting (Su): Whenever you cast Magic Weapon, Magic Vestment, or Greater Magic Weapon you may choose to not add the usual enhancement bonus to the equipment. In place of the enhancement bonus you grant the item a magic ability of a bonus value up to what you are able to cast with the spell. The item does not have to have an existing enhancement bonus, nor does it gain one when you grant it the ability. It must be capable of receiving the ability and these spells cannot stack with each other. You must be at least 7th level to select this revelation.
Resourceful Crafting (Ex): You gain the ability to get the most use out of your materials when you are crafting magical items. When determining the gp cost of crafting a magic item, reduce the base price by 25%. At 15th level the discount increases, letting you reduce the base price by 50% when determining the cost of making an item. This only affects the cost of the item. Crafting time is still based on the actual base cost of the item (unless you also have Fast Crafting). You must be at least 7th level to select this revelation.
Skill Mastery (Ex): You gain the ability to take 10 when making Spellcraft and Use Magic Device checks, even if stress and distractions would normally prevent you from doing so. This circumvents the normal rule that a character may not take 10 on a Use Magic Device check. You must be at least 11th level to select this revelation.
Transmute Item (Su): You gain the ability to break down magic items to their most basic components. As part of magical crafting you may use any number of magical items as raw materials to create new magical items using half of their base value to help cover the gp cost of your new items. If the gp gained in this way is more than what is needed for the crafting, the excess gp is lost unless you spend an extra day (equivalent to 1,000 gp base price worth) of crafting to make the extra amount into actual gp. This requires a separate Spellcraft check (DC 10). Alternately, you may simply spend that same amount of crafting time to break down any number of magical items to gain half of their base value in actual gp using the same Spellcraft check. The magic items used in this way are destroyed at the beginning of the crafting process and you must have the appropriate item creation feats requited to make the items to perform this ability on them.
Trap Master (Ex): You gain the Trapfinding class feature of a Rogue, adding 1/2 of your Oracle level to Perception skill checks made to locate traps and to Disable Device skill checks (minimum +1). You can use Disable Device to disarm magic traps. If you also have levels in Rogue, they stack with your Oracle levels for this ability. If you beat a trap’s DC by 10 or more you can study the trap, figure out how it works, and bypass it without disarming it. You can rig the trap so your allies can bypass it as well. At 7th level you gain the Trap Spotter rogue talent giving you an immediate Perception check to notice a trap whenever you come within 10 feet of it. This check should be made in secret by the GM. At 11th level you gain Skill Focus (Disable Device) as a bonus feat.
Final Revelation: Upon reaching 20th level, your life’s work in magical crafting has truly made you a master. Work required each day to craft an item is cut in half and the amount of gp worth you can craft in that time has multiplied by a factor of 10. You now only need 4 hours of work per 10,000 gp in an item’s base price, with a minimum of at least 4 hours. Any single magical crafting (no longer limited to just potions and scrolls) with a base price of 2,500 gp or less can be completed in 1 hour. Etc. You may also work up to 8 hours a day with no minimum of how many items you can work on, complete, or how much work you can put into an item. Therefore, you can work on one item for 8 hours to complete 20,000 gp of work, accelerate your work to 2 hours of work per 10,000 gp to work on an item for 8 hours to complete 40,000 gp of work, complete 8 items of 2,500 gp value or less in one 8 hour period, and have as many projects going on at once as you like.
There might be a little more tweaking to do, but I think it's pretty much as I want it. And here is the not-quite-as-awesome Sorcerer Bloodline that I tried making before the Oracle Mystery:
Artifice - Sorcerer Bloodline
Class Skill: Disable Device (Int)
Bonus Spells: Identify (3rd), Make Whole (5th), Magic Weapon, Greater (7th), Minor Creation (9th), Major Creation (11th), Animate Objects (13th), Forcecage (15th), Iron Body (17th), Time Stop (19th).
Bloodline Arcana: Whenever you use a scroll or wand or drink a potion, you may use your Sorcerer level and modifier or that of the creator to determine the spell’s DC and other effects, whichever is more beneficial.
Bloodline Powers:
Item Creation: At 1st level, you automatically gain Scribe Scroll as a bonus feat. You also gain the ability to emulate spell prerequisites for spell-trigger and spell-completion items by making Use Magic Device checks (DC 20 + caster level). Scrolls made in this way cannot be used by spellcasters to learn a spell. In addition, you may use this check to emulate spell prerequisites in other items or you may emulate any other prerequisites as described by the Use Magic Device skill to avoid the +5 increases on craft DC for not meeting prerequisites for an item. You may attempt these checks once each day of crafting. If you come to the final day and still have not made a check, you may attempt one last check even if you already made a check that day. If that check also fails and it was to emulate a spell prerequisite for a spell-trigger or spell-completion item, then the creation process fails and the time and money expended to craft the item are lost. Otherwise, the final craft DC for the item is increased by +5 for each missing prerequisite as normal.
Transmute Item: At 3rd level, you gain the ability to break down magic items to their most basic components. As part of magical crafting you may use any number of magical items as raw materials to create new magical items using half of their base value to help cover the gp cost of your new items. If the gp gained in this way is more than what is needed for the crafting, the excess gp is lost unless you spend an extra day of crafting to make the extra amount into actual gp. This requires a separate Spellcraft check (DC 10). Alternately, you may simply spend a full day’s worth of crafting time to break down any number of magical items to gain half of their base value in actual gp using the same Spellcraft check. You must have the appropriate item creation feats requited to make the items to perform this power on them.
Resourceful crafting: At 9th level, you gain the ability to get the most use out of your materials when you are crafting magical items. When determining the gold price cost of crafting a magic item, reduce the base price by 25%. At 17th level the discount increases, letting you reduce the base price by 50% when determining the cost of making an item. This only affects the cost of the item. Crafting time is still based on the actual base cost of the item.
Skill Mastery: At 15th level, you gain the ability to take 10 when making Spellcraft and Use Magic Device checks, even if stress and distractions would normally prevent you from doing so. This circumvents the normal rule that a character may not take 10 on a Use Magic Device check.
[/i]Master Craftsman:[/i] At 20th level, you are able to craft magical items with incredible speed and efficiency. It now only takes one hour of work per 1,000 gp in an item’s base price to craft. Potions and scrolls with a base price of 250 gp or less only take 15 minutes. You may still work for up to 8 hours a day, putting extra time into an item or even work on up to 8 different items at one time.
And that's it! Hope you like it for those of you who understand it. ^_^
(Again, sorry to the anime people for all the tabletop RPG stuff that you may or may not understand)
Okay, so this isn't anime related, but it's something that has taken up a lot of my time lately. During my breaks at work or free time at home I've been thinking about and working on trying to convert the Eberron D&D class, the artificer, into the Pathfinder RPG system. You see, one of my favorite D&D campaigns was ran by my friend Dan. I played a crazy gunslinger girl named Anna who multiclassed into Artificer. I really enjoyed the class. Now we're playing our games using Pathfinder because it's awesome. But there has been no artificer class released for the system. So I've been trying to make my own. I can't tell you how many times I've re-written this damn thing. Its latest incarnation uses the Advanced Players Guide's Alchemist class as a base and I made adjustments from there. I think it's the closes I've been to making the base class correctly but it still has a lot of problems with it. A major issue is that it references the Eberron book a lot. I also think there are still a lot of balancing issues. Spell Imitation is probably a little too crazy, but I needed something that would make the artificer cool outside of crafting. Anyway, here's the class:
Artificer - Pathfinder
-Base Attack Bonus as Cleric
-Good Will Save, Poor Fort and Reflex
Class Skills: Appraise (Int), Craft (Int), Disable Device (Int), Fly (Dex), Knowledge (all) (Int), Linguistics (Int), Perception (Wis), Profession (Wis), Spellcraft (Int), and Use Magic Device (Cha).
Skill Ranks per Level: 4 + Int modifier.
Class Features:
Weapon and Armor Proficiency:
Artificers are proficient with all simple weapons, with light and medium armor, and with shields (except tower shields).
Infusions:
See Eberron Campaign Setting P.31
Action Points are not used in Pathfinder. Instead of the Action Point usage associated with Artificer Infusions, once per day an Artificer may reduce the casting time of any infusion to a standard action. This is increased to two times per day at sixth level, three at 12th, and maxes out at 4 times a day at level 18.
Craft Bank:
Artificers are bursting with magical energy to be used for crafting magical items. They can magically transform mundane materials such as common dirt and stone into components for crafting. An artificer receives a pool of points he can spend instead of gp when crafting a magic item. Each time the artificer gains a new level, he receives a new craft bank; leftover points from the previous level do not carry over. If the points are not spent, they are lost. An artificer can also use his craft bank to supplement the gp cost of items he creates, taking a portion of the cost from his craft bank and supply the rest with his personal funds.
Spell Imitation:
An artificer can sacrifice an infusion slot to spontaneously cast any spell of equal level or lower. He must first succeed in a Use Magic Device check (DC 20 + his current artificer level) to imitate the spell. The Use Magic Device check is made prior to casting the spell so if it fails the infusion is not lost and it does not go against imitated spells he can cast per day, but a standard action is spent for the attempt. An imitated spell takes longer to cast just as if it was a spontaneous metamagic spell (spells taking a standard action take a full-round action, etc.) and metamagic feats can never be applied to imitated spells. Otherwise the spell functions as normal using your artificer level as the caster level. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 1/2 your artificer level rounded up.
Item Creation (Ex)
See Eberron Campaign Setting P.32
Bonus Feats:
An artificer gains every item creation feat as a bonus feat at or near the level at which it becomes available to spellcasters. He gets Scribe Scroll as a bonus feat at 1st level, Brew Potion at 2nd level, Craft Wondrous Item at 3rd level, Craft Magic Arms and Armor at 4th level, Craft Construct (see the Bestiary, page 314) at 5th level, Craft Wand at 6th level, Forge Ring at 7th level, Craft Rod at 9th level, and Craft Staff at 11th level.
Discovery (Su):
Much like alchemists, at 2nd level, and then again every 2 levels thereafter (up to 18th level), an artificer makes an incredible discovery. Some alchemist discoveries may be made by artificers in additions to others that can only be taken by artificers.
Artificer’s Touch:
And artificer with this discovery can cast Mending at will, using his artificer level as the caster level to repair damaged objects. In addition, he can cause damage to objects and construct creatures by striking them with a melee touch attack. Objects and constructs take 1d6 points of damage +1 for every two artificer levels. This attack bypasses an amount of damage reductions and hardness equal to his artificer level. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Intelligence modifier.
Artisan bonus:
An artificer with this discovery gains a +1 bonus on Use Magic Device checks to activate an item of the kind for which he has the prerequisite item creation feat. This bonus increases by 1 for every 5 artificer levels giving a +2 at level 5, +3 at level 10, +4 at level 15, and +5 at level 20. The bonus for scrolls is also applied to the Use Magic Device check for spell imitation as the artificer is essentially casting a scroll, he just doesn’t go through the process of creating the scroll first.
Craft anywhere:
An artificer no longer requires any kind of specialized workshop or tools to craft magical items while using only his craft bank. The artificer must be at least 8th level to take this discovery.
Demolition expert:
Artificers with this discovery hone their experience with constructs and inanimate objects to learn exactly how to hurt them the most. You are able to deal precision damage (such as sneak attack and critical hits) to all constructs and objects.
Dilution:
See Pathfinder APG P.29
Elixir of Life:
See Pathfinder APG P.30
Enhance potion:
See Pathfinder APG P.30
Enhanced spell imitation:
An artificer with this discovery may sacrifice multiple infusion slots to imitate spells, even for spells of higher level than 6th. As long as the levels of the sacrificed infusions add up to at least the level of the spell, the artificer can imitate it as normal. He can imitate spells up to level 7 at 14th level, level 8 spells at 16th level, and level 9 spells at 18th level. The artificer must be at least level 14 to take this discovery.
Eternal potion:
See Pathfinder APG P.30
Extend potion:
See Pathfinder APG P.30
Extra effort:
To make this discovery, an artificer must first learn the Quick Crafting discovery. This artificer is so diligent and efficient he may complete multiple days’ worth of work in one day. The number of hours worked can be multiplied by 2, up to 4 starting at 15th level, and up to 8 at 20th level. The artificer has then effectively put that many days’ worth of crafting into the item. This ability may be used in conjunction with Multitasking to finish multiple items faster, such as a 15th level artificer working on two items at once for 8 hours to either make both items twice as fast or one item at normal speed and the other three times as fast.
Magic sense:
An artificer with this discovery can cast Detect Magic at will and receives a +2 competence bonus on Spellcraft skill checks made to identify the properties of magic items.
*Replaces Artificer Knowledge. Maybe make more adjustments and/or put back as a 1st level automatic ability.
Material forgery:
An artificer with this discovery receives Eschew Materials as a bonus feat. In addition, if an infusion or imitated spell requires a material component costing more than 1 gp, the artificer may pay the gold cost out of his craft bank instead of having the material on hand to cast the spell.

Multitasking:
To make this discovery, an artificer must first learn the Quick Crafting discovery. This artificer is so skilled and focused he may work on multiple magical items at the same time. The number of hours worked each day is multiplied by the number of items he is working on, not to exceed 8 hours. So an artificer level 10-14 may work on two items at once for 8 hours a day, an artificer level 15-19 may work on up to 4 items, and an artificer level 20 may work on up to 8 items at once.
Quick crafting:
An artificer with this discovery learns to reduce the amount of time needed to work on an item each day without taking any penalty. The artificer only needs to spend 4 hours working to complete a day’s crafting on an item. Furthermore, at 15th level this time is reduced to 2 hours and at 20th level it is reduced to only 1 hour. The artificer must be at least 10th level to take this discovery.
Resourceful crafting:
An artificer with this discovery knows how to get the most use out of his materials and craft bank. When determining the gold price cost of crafting a magic item, reduce the base price by 25%. This discovery may be taken a second time to reduce it by 50%. The artificer must be at least 8th level to take this discovery.
Retain Essence (Su):
An artificer with this discovery gains the ability to salvage the magic energy from a magic item and use those points to create another magic item. The artificer must spend a day with the item, and he must also have the appropriate item creation feat for the item he is salvaging. After one day, the item is destroyed and the artificer adds half of the items value in gp to his craft bank. These points are lost if the artificer does not use them before gaining his next level and his craft bank total can never be more than 10 times the original craft bank he received for his level. If an item is more valuable than this limit and retain essence is used on it, the artificer’s craft bank maxes out and the remaining gp is wasted.
Skill Mastery:
An artificer with this discovery can take 10 when making a Spellcraft or Use Magic Device check, even if stress and distractions would normally prevent him from doing so. This discovery circumvents the normal rule that a character may not take 10 on a Use Magic Device check. The artificer must be at least level 12 to take this discovery.
Trapfinding:
An artificer with this discovery adds 1/2 his level to Perception skill checks made to locate traps and to Disable Device skill checks (minimum +1). The artificer can use Disable Device to disarm magic traps.
*Replaces Disable Trap. Maybe make more adjustments and/or put back as a 1st level automatic ability.
Grand Discovery (Su):
At 20th level an artificer makes a grand discovery. He immediately learns two normal discoveries, but also learns a third discovery chosen from the list below.
Awaken Intellect:
See Pathfinder APG P.31
Living Construct:
This artificer has spent so much time working with constructs and inanimate objects that he has learned how to become a living construct himself. He no longer ages and gains all of the traits of a construct (see Bestiary P.307) while retaining everything from his previous life with the following differences:
-Though he no longer has a Constitution score, his hit points do no change.
-Low-light vision and Darkvision 60 feet replace any vision based racial traits he had in his old life.
-Since he still has his old soul, he can still be raised or resurrected, but his body must be repaired first.
-Gains no bonus hit points for size. Has the same hit points as in his previous life.
-Weapon and armor proficiency is determined by class.
Master Craftsman:
This artificer has made magical crafting his life’s work. He is so efficient in his craft that the base time to complete a magical item is calculated by 10,000gp per day of work instead of the usual 1,000gp per day.

I'm actually thinking about giving up on this. I was searching the Paizo Messageboards for artificer tips and I think I remember someone suggested to just make a Sorcerer Bloodline instead of making an actual Artificer base class. I tried that, and it was alright, I guess, but still lacking. Then it came to me in a flash and I realized that an Oracle would make a much better Artificer class! So I made an Oracle Artifice Mystery. I think it's pretty good. It will be the next thing I post, along with the Sorcerer thing just for fun, I guess. =P
