Change Of Pace
Anime Relations: Fruits Basket, Pokemon, Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon, Ouran Koukou Host Club, NHK ni Youkoso!
Okay, so far my blog has been about mostly negative stuff so here's a change of pace.
I'm going to talk about how I came to like anime! :D
I started watching anime around 2011 (wow, it's been a year already?) and (NO HATE PLEASE) my first anime was the dub of Fruits Basket.
I watched like 6 or 7 episodes in one night in Netflix and it was one of the weirdest experiences ever.
I didn't really know what was going on but the same time I did, and all these Japanese names, I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND IT, then after the 8th episode or something, I suddenly knew all their names and it wasn't even hard to begin with HAHA I guess I just wasn't used to it...
Anyways, it was WEIRD to go back for more everyday because IN ALL HONESTY I used to loathe anime. Hmm, maybe not loathe-loathe but maybe something more like... repulsed? Resented?
HAHAH WELL DON'T BLAME ME! Back then, every time I looked at anything anime, it was either some pervy-posed action figure or a way-too-revealing character in some poster or whatever (Isn't that sorta the same thing? HAHA).
And to me, it all looked the same!
I thought all the girls were from "Sailor Moon" (only girly anime I knew at the time) and all the guys were from "Pokemon" HAHA.
After finishing Fruits Basket, there was this void inside me; some sort of Satisfaction Bin I needed to fill. So, again, in the middle of the night, I searched up "similar to Fruits Basket". After scrolling through some random pages, I came to the conclusion that "Ouran Highschool Host Club" must be the next thing for me, since it appeared in each website I checked.
I watched the first 2 episodes and let me tell you, I WAS SO SHOCKED that I was able to laugh THAT MUCH all because of an ANIME. It was as if life slapped me in the face and said "How's that for irony, you little piece of paper".
Moving on, after a few weeks, I asked my friend "What's the difference between anime and manga?". (I bet you're all laughing at how noob-ish I sound, huh? I don't blame you. Thinking back now, that WAS a pretty noob-ish question HAHA).
My friend answered "Anime is the show and Manga is like the books of anime" (well, he didn't say those exact words but you get the picture).
I didn't get what he was talking about so he showed me a manga he had and said that THAT was a manga and the things I watch are ANIME.
FINALLY I understood. A few days later, I began reading the Fruits Basket manga.
(OH MY FRICKIN' INK AND PAPER, THE ENDING MADE ME CRY! AS IN, CRY-CRY. URGGHH The last pages hit me like a storm TT,TT And it didnt help that I was listening to the soundtrack of Fruits Basket...... It was perfect, the timing and everything.)
HAHAH So from then on I had become what you may call an "otaku". HAHA but MIND YOU I still have a life. Do you?
Now, now, don't be a hikikomori! There's more to life than that :) (If you have watched "Welcome to the NHK!" don't even get any funny ideas to go and idolize the guy...)

Message To Manga Translators
Anime Relations: Kimi to Boku.
Just a quick heads up.
Can you please not be so half-hearted about scanning and translating mangas YOUR GROUP CHOSE to translate?
I appreciate for translating in the first place, but if you're not even going to finish the series, then don't even bother start but instead let some other fansub group take charge.
Yes, I'm looking at you, the group who was in charge of "Watashi no + Okusuri" -__-
2 years and still no 5th/last chapter?
Major let-down. I had to skim the last chapter IN CHINESE.
Oh my frickin' ink and paper, I DON'T KNOW CHINESE.
โ Letting off steam = DONE โ
PS - I have no idea how to join a fansub group and I sorta lost my motivation to anyway (Hmm, I wonder how fansubs were formed in the first place...)

Clueless Heroines
Anime Relations: Tsubasa Chronicle, Ouran Koukou Host Club, Tsubasa: Tokyo Revelations, Special A, Soul Eater, Toaru Majutsu no Index, Fairy Tail, Kaichou wa Maid-sama!, Mawaru Penguindrum, Arcana Famiglia
Dear me, origami!
Things I absolutely hate about any heroine in any shounen, shoujo, seinen, josei, whatever:
1 - How they don't seem to have any clue what that "pain" is in their clueless little hearts. Constantly asking themselves "what is this feeling" or "what is this pain in my chest"
................... WOMAN, If you're going to keep asking us those questions, why don't I shove a dictionary up your face so you can look up what the heck you're blabbing about, maybe then your annoying presence will level down a notch.
How's that for some painful advice...
2 - Spineless, pathetic and in-the-way. Seriously. PLEASE, ORIGAMI, PLEAAASE~ Stop portraying every single girl in every single anime/manga as a cute and naive waste of space. Like, oh my frickin' ink and paper, she can't be THAT useless, can she? Oh wait, she can. Trips on flat ground, stands there like an idiot when there's this psycho RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER about to attack, crying over pitiful things..... *sigh* And I hate how they meddle with other people's business and end up making things worse because they can't do anything properly.
3 - Hmmm.... that's about it XD
LIKEABLE HEROINES:
ANIME: Haruhi (Ouran HS Host Club)
- - - - - Maka (Soul Eater)
- - - - - Lucy (Fairy Tail)
- - - - - Misaki (Kaicho wa Maid-sama)
- - - - - Hikari (Special A)
MANGA: Mafuyu (Oresama Teacher)
- - - - - Kizuna (The Sleepy Residents of Birdcage Manor)
DISLIKEABLE HEROINES:
ANIME: Index (Toaru Majutsu No Index) <-- she could have been cute if she would just shut up shut up shut up shut up....
- - - - - Sakura (Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles) <-- I liked her in Tokyo Revelations though
- - - - - Ringo (Mawaru Penguindrum) <-- I don't remember her all that well, but I do recall that she was crazy
- - - - - Felicita (La Storia Della Arcana Famiglia) <-- I'm so disappointed in her character... I really thought she'd be bad-ass, but she's too... "fluffy" (well, the anime's not done yet, so she still has a chance to be put in my Likeable List Of Heroines HAHA)
MANGA:
- - - - - Mei (Hitsuji ga Ippiki) <-- I didn't pity her ONE BIT ..... she's so.... URGGGH she over-reacted way too much!
- - - - - Hiyoki (SLH - Stray Love Hearts) <-- I just don't like her. (Her character is too "bland" but who am I to judge? I've read like 2 chapters so far...)
โ Letting off steam = DONE โ
PS - No idea why I kept saying "origami" back there... maybe cuz it relates to paper and I don't want to use swear words? XD (Hmm, they really should have Manga Relations instead of just Anime Relations...)

Make Up Your Mind, WOMAN
Anime Relations: Hana Yori Dango, Fruits Basket, Ouran Koukou Host Club, Romeo x Juliet, Bakuman., StarryโSky, Uta noโPrince-samaโช Maji Love 1000%
Harems. No, no, no WAIT.
REVERSE Harems. (There you go)
Oh my frickin' ink and paper...
Yes, yes, I knooow~ they are all "eye-candy", I know... but, girl, stop playing around with all of them and just PICK ONE ALREADY. (Hehehe i make it sound like its eenie-meenie-miny-moe or something...)
Just because most of them are nice to you and constantly pay attention to you, doesn't mean you can push their feelings around because you don't have the strength nor courage nor frickin' capacity to just get things over with.
But OHMYFRICKININKANDPAPER, when they finally decide to, guess who they choose?
I'll tell you (for all you people who hate spoilers as much as I do, LOOK AWAY!)
WHO DO THEY CHOOSE, YOU ASK?
No other than, THE ONE WHO'S ALWAYS SO MEAN TO THEM FROM THE UTMOST BEGINNING OF TIME, THEY CAN BE THE INCARNATION OF THE DEVIL HIMSELF! *exaggerates*
...............
why oh why are all heroines such masochists that they have to choose the "cursed, tortured soul" every. single. time..... *sigh*
Humanity really is going no where, isn't it?
HEY WAIT! Ouran HS Host Club = she ends up with Tamaki, right? Well, he isn't mean to her so that's a nice change.... EXCEPT IT'S UNCALLED FOR! She should have ended up with Hikaru, I swear. I mean, they actually look like a couple, but Tamaki and Haruhi together is like Father and Daughter; it's weird.
No, just NO.
Hmmm, but some tsundere characters are fine like the one in Fruits Basket. Although, sweet relationships are always better, like in Bakuman and Romeo x Juliet. (Whoa, I sound really shoujo there don't I...)
โ Letting off steam = DONE โ
PS - I added Boys Over Flowers" in the anime relation even though I haven't watched/read it cuz a certain someone sort of confirmed who she ends up with.... (and if you had been paying attention you can guess who she ends up with...)

One-Shot Shoujos
Anime Relations: Shugo Chara!
I think one of the most hilarious manga genres out there are "one-shot shoujos".
I really do. AHAHAH everything happens so fast it's not even sweet XD
They meet one day then say "I love you" the next 21 hours; it's so cheesy and unrealistic (maybe? pssh does this really happen in everyday school life anyway? Even if it does, I don't really see how genuine love can blossom when they don't know a single thing about each other, except maybe their names...)
DON'T GET ME WRONG there are one-shot shoujos out there that are pretty good reads like Wasureyuki (Amano SHINOBU) and Rec - Kimi Ga Naita Hi (Aoi MAKINO). But ones like Kimi No Ai De Motenashite (Marina UMEZAWA) are way too "shoujo" for me to understand.
Personally I prefer shounen one-shots because they're much more interesting and it makes sense that it is fast-paced. Take APPLE by Naoshi KOMI for example, I think that was an awesome one-shot. I'm sort of relieved that it wasn't longer than it is, regardless of how entertaining it was.
Some things are better as a one-shot *cough*CERBERUS JAM*cough* (could have been interesting IF I KNEW WHAT THE HECK THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT).
โ Letting off steam = DONE โ
PS - I just put "Shugo Chara!" as an anime relation cuz I couldn't think of any other unmistakably-shoujo anime that I've watched.... AND THIS BLOG THINGY WON'T LET ME SAVE WITHOUT ADDING AN ANIME RELATION. (If only there was a Manga Relations...)
