Anime Relations: Gunslinger Girl, Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom
It has been a long time since anything knocked me out emotionally. I guess the last ones were in order of impact:

1. Kana Imouto (eroge - if you haven't played it you don't know real sadness. Sadness that makes you feel physically ill, sadness that breaks you down, sadness that keeps you awake at night.)
2. Gunslinger Girl (anime - still can't listen to Beethoven's ode of joy without getting teary eyed)
3. Gimai Hitomi (eroge - while not exactly stellar in itself, I had some personal problems while playing it so the theme song "The line of death" always triggers a depression in me)

I'll wait a few weeks and decide where to put Phantom on this list. Suffice to say I didn't sleep much last night.

Anime Relations: Shion no Ou
Been neglecting anime for a while because of a very good reason: I've been playing eroge. More exactly I've been playing the following (in order of preference):

1. Kamidori - Alchemy Meister
SRPG with some Recettear-ish economy and Atelier type alchemy. Overall it would be a solid game even without the H, but it's stellar because of it. Massive amount of content, great replayability with New Game+ and New Game++ . Probably spent more time on it than I'd like to admit...

2. Eien no Aselia- The Spirit of Eternity Sword
While I don't particularly like the artstyle and absolutely hate the combat system, the setting and narrations is so compelling that I'm willing to play through the game. Best story and exposition in an eroge.

3. Galaxy Angel series
Eroge+Anime style space battles. Pretty self explanatory. The story is meh, the battles are mediocre to challenging but overall worth checking out.

4. Big bang age
Well... this game is HARD. The battle system is reminiscent of Sengoku Rance (which uses the same System40 engine) but otherwise inferior in every aspect. Skip this one.

To make up for the hiatus I just watched Shion no Ou in one sitting and will be going through my To-Watch list.

Anime Relations: Another
Just finished another last night. As you can imagine I hardly slept and even when I did I had nightmares. T_T

This doesn't mean the anime is bad by any means, I'd go as far as to say It's my favorite anime in the supernatural/horror genre. It has some bland, guessable moments but nothing that detracts from the overall experience. Also I didn't guess the ending which is a first.

The drawing style is like Gundam Seed meets Nana, there are some REALLY graphic moments.
The story reminds me strongly of the final destination films.
Music/ambient noise is used to great effect and it maintains of steady uneasiness.

Overall 9/10

Anime Relations: Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu
My external HDD died today. /(x~x)\
I probably dropped it a few too many times. The HDD isn't the problem though, it's that I had Legend of Galactic heroes on it. I was at ep 70/110 too (T_T)
I guess I'll have to put it on hold until I can acquire it again.

Anime Relations: Kara no Kyoukai 7: Satsujin Kousatsu (Part 2)
Based on the recommendation of kumokojiki I watched Kara no Kyoukai today.
First impression: it's a mix of my favorites:
1. Music - Kajiura Yuki (she's my nr. 1 composer of all times. Nr 2 is Nobuo Uematsu)
2. Setting/ lore - TYPE MOON universe. Having played the original Tsukihime, Fate and Melty blood games and having watched the relevant anime, my top universe is the TYPE MOON universe.
3. Animation/ narration style is reminiscient of Ghost in the Shell: heavy emphasis on dolls, some deep phylosophical monologues and a surreal feeling to the world.

Overall I was thrilled and immersed though I found the ending a bit lacking. But I guess studios don't like Shakespearean tragedies anymore.

Overall I'd give it a 9.5 because of some filler and the ending.

Anime Relations: Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu, SSJMaster vs. Xinil - A story of epic battles! Season 2, Persona 4 The Animation
So I found out today that MyAnimelist has blogs ^_^ .
For the first entry I'll just list my thoughts on the 2 series I am watching right now:

1. Legend of the galactic heroes @ ep 70/110
Wonderful and epic political/ space empire anime. In the same vein as Tytania it portrays the inner workings of a Galactic Empire's political system.

2. Persona 4 @ ep 6
Having played ALL shin megami games (from persona 1 on PSX to the newest DS games) I quickly became bored of the repetitive combat so I happily watched the anime for it's story. If you haven't played persona 4 or any persona game you should not watch the series.

Regarding the other items on my "currently watching list" I might drop a few soon:

1. Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai @ ep 8/11 - not nearly depressed enouigh to finish this

2. Kyouran Kazoku Nikki @ ep 20/26 - way too silly and light. Waste of time when I got meaty anime like LOGH

3. Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai! @ ep 1/12 - standard harem anime. good quality but not serious enough.
