Shugo Chara! 27
This was so good it wasn't funny, as opposed to it being so hilarious it wasn't funny. Both qualify.
Amu's parallel to what I now mentally associate with Peter Parker and his slump back in the first (second?) Spiderman movie was nice. Yes, I know, it's a worn trope for all protagonists with super powers in a mahou shoujo/shounen series to get burnt out somewhere along the way. Too bad all I can think of is good old Spidey crashing into the gutter and disposing of his costume morosely.
The impact is powerful. There's new characters, but all I can think of at the moment is the fourth egg. This is Spring, alright. Eru is heartbreaking, much like The Matchstick Girl. Can't wait for the surprise gattai later on -- her plaintive cries remind me of what Rika would call omochikaeri!, whatever that means.
Kyouran Kazoku Nikki 04
Making the ordinary extraordinary. Setup for the next episode. Ryou Hirohashi does a cute ED.
Potemayo 01-02
Since I'm continuing from where I left off, it wouldn't hurt to watch the first 4 episodes again.
There's nothing new to write about, but it's pleasant and relaxing.
Itazura na Kiss 06
Superb. There is no regret whatsoever in choosing a series like this that never fails to entertain and provoke thought in such a manner. The freedom of choice and how many, many parents choose to project their wasted lives onto the unblemished lives of their sons (much more than their daughters) is a predominantly East/South-East Asian thing, and one quite apt to be explored in such a form, I guess.
Episodes so far have been akin to that of a progressive rock song, which is to say, it gets better with each passing minute. Conflict is explored in such a way that it's layered one on top of another, coming together in a mass of hilarity and tenderness that, to quote the retarded term everyone seems to be mouthing off for some reason nowadays, it could very well be classified "a trainwreck".
Of course, those who use the aforementioned term (especially pertaining to Code Geass) are obtuse beyond measure, but we won't go into that.
Soul Eater 05
This is turning boring/mediocre fast. Ugh.
Kure-nai 05
Surprisingly tender at the beginning, and juicy towards the end. Do I love English for sentences like these or what?
Code Geass R2 06
I had a feeling the Knightmare power balance was getting a tad skewed in favour of the Britannians.
Next: Toudou and the Four- sorry, Three Heavenly Swords get new rigs? Logic dictates thus.
They need to build another one for Rollo so that he doesn't have to pout alone in his bedroom during battles, looking massively gay in the process.
Toshokan Sensou 04
As I expected. Dramatic tension, not action. But narrative flab (flashback montage + abuse of inner monologue = DO NOT WANT) needs to be trimmed. Pig disgusting, etc.
Still, an admirable balance. Only Kyouran Kazoku Nikki does this better.
Soul Eater 04
Nope, definitely didn't see that coming from the PV.
Still annoyed at loooooooooong conversation in the graveyard, even if "Oops" made up for it. Please, no more of this.
Himitsu - Top Secret 01
Everything I expected it to be. Just as planned. A keeper.
What I didn't expect was occasionally hilarious yaoi innuendo, and campy, cheesy, ill-fitting BGM.
