Ouran Highschool Host Club | Grade : B+

To be honest, this would have probably been your typical slice of life anime if it hadn't been for two things. One, I'd never seen an anime that was based around the rich before, so it was a nice change. Second, some of the characters acted in ways that were extremely interesting. Haruhi, Kyouya and Tanaki were all very different, and yet their interactions made the anime alot more interesting to watch. The rest of the host club was pretty generic stuff, although the twins did have their moments. I particularly liked the episodes that revolved around the characters joining the host club, but some of the episodes in between them felt out of place and boring. The animation was average, never being truly stunning, but never being glaringly awful either. I didn't care too much for the opening, kind of felt gay listening to it. The ending was great though. Listened to it every time after an episode. Finished this anime in 3 weeks.

Animation : 8/10 - Simple, but mildly fluid.
Storyline : 8/10 - The parts centering around Haruhi, Kyouya and Tamaki were good. The rest was filler in my book.
Characters : 9/10 - Haruhi and Kyouya were the best by far.
Art Style : 8/10 - Pretty simple, but it looked nice.
Music : 10/10 - It was alot of crappy gay music, but that's what the anime needed.
Opening/Ending : 7/10 - Opening was gay, the ending was awesome.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya | Grade : A+

By far my most favorite anime of all time. The plot expands beyond your typical slice of life anime to something immensely greater when you understand, or are at least given theories, on how Haruhi works. Nothing is ever fully explained, which leaves the watcher to their own beliefs as to how things work within the anime. The massive catcher as to why I love this anime so much is the fact that there is so much thrown into the 14 episodes, that you have to go back and re-watch them to catch stuff you missed the first time. The animation is absolute top notch, and the narrator, kyon, is one of most sarcastic characters ever. I love it. The opening and ending theme are both extremely catchy, and alot of the music during the show is also extremely good. And by the way, airing the episodes out of order was complete genius. Finished this anime in around 4 days.

Animation : 10/10 - Some of the best I've ever seen.
Storyline : 10/10 - Epic in the fact you are guessing about the entirety of the plot.
Characters : 10/10 - All very unique, funny and interesting.
Art Style : 10/10 - Top Notch.
Music : 10/10 - Perfect for every occasion.
Opening/Ending : 10/10 - Both addicting as all get out.

He Is My Master | Grade : C+

To be blunt, this anime is for people who like ecchi, period. It has very little plot, the animation quality is so-so, and alot of the gags leave you ready to hit the pillow. The main character is a pervert, and he continues to be one throughout all 13 episodes of the show. The girls all look as if they are around 10 years old, so that kind of puts the enjoyment down the drain a bit. The anime had a few funny parts occasionally, and it tried to throw in plot developement, but it turned into a silly mess of ridiculousness. Took me around 2 months to finish this anime.

Animation : 6/10 - Seen much better, it's not horrible, but not that great either.
Storyline : 7/10 - It tried to keep a main storyline, but it was mostly random balogna.
Characters : 8/10 - The pervert was interesting, but the moe girls were nothing new.
Art Style : 8/10 - The girls looked pretty good, that's what counts.
Music : 7/10 - Not bad.
Opening/Ending : 6/10 - Both the opening and ending were decent, nothing special.

Tengen Toppa Gurenn Lagann | Grade : A

I wouldn't have even considered trying the anime if it weren't for two things. A bunch of my friends were practically trying to shove it down my throat, and it's the #1 ranked anime on this site. Why would I not have normally cared? Well it's a mecha, and they are tragically boring in my opinion. TTGL is in it's own realm of amazingness however. The animation was the first bread winner. Absolutely stunning pretty much all throughout, and many different lighting effects were used to present the dark moods. The characters are brilliant, and when Kamina died, I literally sat there stunned for a little bit thinking, "They actually killed off the best character?" Simon was also a character, who although probably grew a little bit too fast to be realistic, was a unique personality who strove for his goals and he never let you forget it, ever. The story was simplistic, but the battles just got more and more epic as time went on. I personally loved the opening theme, didn't care too much for the ending ones. Overall, an extreme breath of a fresh air, finished this anime in under a week.

Animation : 10/10 - Unbelievably good. Almost gets an 11.
Storyline : 10/10 - Simple in the most epic way possible.
Characters : 10/10 - The characters made this story, enough said.
Art Style : 10/10 - Excellent.
Music : 10/10 - Perfect.
Opening/Ending : 10/10 - Incredibly addicting opening, and then Row Row Fight Tha Powa!

Shakugan no Shana | Grade : B-

An example of an anime that started out amazingly well, and then fizzled out to the point of sleeping during what was supposed to be important parts. I must say, the first 3 or 4 episodes were amazing while introducing the whole torch/life concept, and what happens when they go out. Slowly though, the story begins to get repetitive as the main characters never cease to stop fighting your average bad guys who want to dominate the world. Some romance is thrown it, but you just don't really care, especially since the main character, Yuji, is a complete idiot. Animation is top notch, and the show concludes to bring on another season, which was an absolute pile of garbage aside from episode 1. Took me over a month to finish this anime.

Animation : 10/10 - Smoothe and crisp.
Storyline : 6/10 - Started great, got worse... then ended on a bad note.
Characters : 6/10 - Love sick girls, clueless guys and then there was Margerie.
Art Style : 10/10 - No complaints, it fit perfectly.
Music : 10/10 - Good songs for important battle scenes.
Opening/Ending : 8/10 - Openings were good, endings were decent.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni | Grade : A-

The big closer that puts this anime at a 10 is the plot twists. During around the first 5 episodes, I was just stunned at the end of each episode and I wanted more. When I want more of an anime, that's a sign that it's damn good. Animation was excellent, and the music was dark. The cicada cries came at just the right moments to enhance suspense. The show suffers mildly throughout the second half, at least in my opinion, in terms of story development. When the arcs shifted to other characters, I was wishing to myself why it wouldn't just go back to Keiichi. The show left alot of unanswered questions, which were disapointedly answered in the second season, which I think was a flop. Oh, and the girls were extremely creepy when they went crazy. Finished this anime in under a week.

Animation : 8/10 - Good for the most part, no complaints.
Storyline : 10/10 - Suspenseful and down right creepy. Very original.
Characters : 8/10 - I liked some of the girls. The blonde was annoying, and Keiichi was an idiot most of the time.
Art Style : 10/10 - Perfect for making all the characters scare the shit out of you.
Music : 10/10 - Creepy melodies when needed. Loved the cicada sounds.
Opening/Ending : 7/10 - Excellent opening, ending I could forget about.
