Anime Relations: Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack

-tomino really loves writing semi-crazy girls that go full on crazy once they get in mobile suits(here's looking at you quess)

-lol jokes about how char like young girls

-mirai looks COMPLETELY different

-i love how this is combining the raw potential of 0079 with the polish and ambition of zeta to make one fuckwin product

-i love the description of quess on MAL ("Quess Paraya (クェス・パラヤ)
Spoiled brat who defects to the Neo Zeon and falls in love with Char.")

-I love/hate how before this is was all fun and games siding with zeon but now they really bring char's brutality to the fore

-i love that slight tussle between amuro and char which to me seemed less physical and more ideological. between amuro's hopeful optimism for the wisdom of man, and char's brutal realism about earth's destruction

Anime Relations: Yakitate!! Japan, Infinite Ryvius

So I haven't really posted in a while on my "real" blog. Simply because the only anime I've been watching is Yakitate! Japan. Which is brilliant, if redundant shounen.

Plus I've got a test coming up for college placement (which if you read my "real" blog i should've taken months ago), as well as freshman orientation which will undoubtedly bore me to shreds so I will be bringing books by dead europeans to entertain me(Descartes and Schopenhauer). I wonder that since I signed up for the orientation session mainly for philosophy majors and physics majors, would it be pretentious for me to bring philosophy books to read when my future classmates stories of their perfect prom and how one of their relatives met paris hilton bore me. Then after that I will be putting in much face time with the few friends I made in high school before I ship off to college in August.

So I've been busy watching reruns of Veronica Mars which is a brilliant show even with the West Side Story vibe. Plus Kristin Bell defines attractiveness I would spend a year in hell for an hour with her in the boudoir.

I do plan on finishing Infinite Ryvius since it's one of Daniel's favorites and he has impecable taste usually. And you can expect a blog post on my "real" blog about it.

Anime Relations: Infinite Ryvius

Watching through Infinite Ryvius I can't help but wonder....This show was better when it was called Lost in Space.

I really just can't force myself to care for these characters...Kozue's too...Kozue
Yuki's too young to be as much of a hardass as he's trying to be
Faina's too much of an obvious yandere sleeper agent
Kouji's trying to act older than he is

I guess I'm saying I just don't care for these characters...and wondering how the director can make such a leap from this to scryed then eventually to planetes where the characters are integral to liking the anime
