I've heard of Hana Kimi for awhile but I only decided to check it out a few days ago. I could only find 3 episodes of Hana Kimi Drama Japanese version. Haiz. But it looked interesting and I found out there's a Taiwan version too. I check that out but when I saw the lead character, I wasn't interested. She looked too much like a guy, when she was a girl with long hair; she doesn't look much female to me >.< If they didn't even get the look wrong, I just couldn't get into watching it. The Japanese version lead actress was good though, a female who looks like a cute boy. It fits the role somehow. I didn't even realize Oguri played as Sano but unfortunately, he doesn't seem to really fit the role somehow.

Because the storyline got me interested, I downloaded the manga yesterday. And how lucky, it's completed! That's the thing about shojo manga, they are usually completed. Hehe. So I went into a reading marathon and finally finished the last chapter just now.

I must say the story is really good. I don't see how the dramas are going to do a better job of the plot. The character's appearance is really important in setting the atmosphere. Oguri is not that bad actually but his hairstyle is all wrong. Totally unlike the character in the manga. I'm probably being biased but I bet Jun do a better role as Sano... or maybe not, I can't picture him being a gentle guy though he would fit the broody image of Sano in the initial part of the story. And I suppose some things that happen in the manga are not going to be depicted just as well in the drama.

And Hana Kimi is really a lot like Ouran High School. Except, Mizuki is more apparent with her love while Haruka is a little indifferent. Too bad there isn't an anime based on this manga. I would have love to watch it!
