I'm not one of those users who tries to make her scores form a perfect bell curve, but I try to keep the average scores (5-6) as, well, average. (That said, I do have a lot of 7+ scores due to the fact that I tend to not watch things I'd hate in the first place.) I consider myself fairly critical -- a lot of series that I have really enjoyed has gotten sixes or sevens -- but I'm not afraid to give out high scores if I feel like a series deserves it. Finally, I try to factor in both personal enjoyment and objective quality, but more of the former.

10 - A truly amazing work; there may be flaws but I can easily ignore them to gush over the positivie. I will probably love this series forever.
9 - Among my very favorites! Nines are almost as good as tens, but my love for them is less fangirly and unconditional.
8 - Definitely a great series; one that I highly enjoyed and recommend. In most cases, I will buy any available series that I give an eight or above.
7 - Far from perfect, but an overall solid series. Sevens are the lowest scored series that I will frequently recommend or express my enjoyment of.
6 - Average, but I like it enough to find it worth my while. I wouldn't personally recommend these, but people with different tastes will probably enjoy them more.
5 - On the low end of average. Sometimes I can find a decent amount to like about these series, but sometimes I can't. Still, I can see the appeal and they're not a total waste of time.
4 - Bearable, but not very good. If a series feels like a four or lower at any point in time, I will most likely drop it.
3 - Poor, with perhaps a few redeeming qualities. However, said "redeeming qualities" are generally along the lines of "well, it could be worse, I suppose".
2 - Horrible.
1 - Horrible and offensive.

Here is my MALgraph!

List Positions

Watching/Reading: I am... not good at watching anime on a regular basis, and only do so with manga when I'm home and near my library. You can take "watching" to mean "I plan to finish this before other things, probably" and "reading" to mean "when I get to the library, I will grab the next volume" (for licensed series) or "I am following the scanlations" (for unlicensed series).

Complete: Complete, yeahhhh.

On-Hold: I have a lot of series on-hold; see what I mean about not being good at watching/reading on a regular basis? These are series that I want to finish but haven't due to either lack of motivation or lack of access. (I will never drop a series due purely to these reasons.)

Plan to Watch/Read: They are very long lists. They used to refer to anything that I had heard of and had a vague interest in, but lately I've been cutting them down to things that are available to me and I have a strong desire to watch/read.

Dropped: I'm not afraid to drop a series when I feel the urge to, seeing as I have plenty of unwatched and on hold series to enjoy. Some fives and all fours and below get dropped, and a handful of sixes have gone as well due to length. Dropping a series doesn't necessarily mean that I'll never watch or read it again, but it's probable.

I don't use tags for the most part, because I am too lazy to think of and maintain creative ones and I think tagging with simple genres is silly. My anime list has dubbed, subbed, and fansubbed tags with obvious meanings, and my manga list has none.
