Anime Relations: Kure-nai

This was a rather nice break from the bold palettes and school life fests that seem to frequent anime. I found the art and animation style offered a clean, fresh look I'd been searchign for recently.

The first half of the series plunked along as a pleasant slice-of-life type show. There was some comedy, a lil .. lil action, and some drama along the way. The pace was rather laid back, but I never considered dropping the show.. though I wasn't exactly anxious to finish it.

The second half touched on the major plot of the series, which I found intriguing and creepy in the same. The pacing here-on felt natural, though at times vague and light. Just enough to keep you satisfied, thought things thin out quickly if you look any deeper.

The conclusion left me with a good sense of closure. Yeah, it had its unrealistic anime-isms, but it was enough to put the story to rest.

Now, I have that lingering sadness of finishing a good series. That's how I know I really liked it.

I'm starting to put together my drama/live listing.. (for now I smushed movies and sentai in here) so here goes [in progress]:

Wow.  That was such a tease.  So easily, I dove back into the world.  Totally lost in the story of Goong, as if I'd never had to wait.  And rushed, smashing into the end of the chapter.  Cliff hanger T_T I want to know what happens now.  They built up so nicely.
