Making of an Anime, The Saga - A Director's Fear
I've been officially put back on the Panda Girls anime production full-time. A pretty big deal for our North American anime industry, and I'm feeling a wee-bit overwhelmed. o.O;
We've set out to produce an anime on our shores, rather than take the production to Japan (very common for anime production) - and I dunno about you guys, but I've seen what North America considers "animation", or even "anime" - and it's not always pretty.
I literally stay awake at nights worried if Panda Girls is going to get the kind of love it deserves. The script is nearly finished, and very beautiful. A spiritual journey you don't expect from our homeland, it's something with a little more of an Asian philosophy.
So I embark, as the director of Panda Girls, to live up to the highly skilled standards set by Japan. I posted some VERY rough scratchboards (a term for sketchy storyboards), to "ease" into a regular posting schedule. If you've got "that kinda" love for anime - for its process and art - you can check out the official
Panda Girls site.
A first of many posts to come - wish me luck.
