Welcome back. Last time I was in a ryokan and the monthly villain showed up earlier than usual as to not steal the very important 150th blog in consideration.

: Heartful?

: That comes from the third movie.

Might as well strike first and blog you really fast just now!

Head

Hair
Ayumi has fairly dark brown hair. The shade is nice and the hairstyle is fairly cute twintails so good so far. She also uses red scrunchies for more cute points. Too bad she has plain bangs, tho that aside hair is nice. Sadly for Ayumi this also includes Cure Echo and how she bring down the average. See, there are Cures with different hair colors after transforming and Echo is one of these, but that is unfortunate this color is BLONDE and that is bad! Shame since otherwise Echo has better hair as the bangs now gain most decent sidebangs, the scrunchies become frilly cute ribbons, and hair gets longer with nice twisted twintails for even more appeal. But alas that is brought down for a fairly decent score overall.
Grade: B

Eyes
Ayumi has brown eyes to match her brown hair. This combination gives the impression she is meant to look “plain” or like the background characters, but joke is on Toei as this made Ayumi look so cute that it ends making her be actually fairly memorable. To make things better she gets really beautiful golden eyes when transformed! Or might be light brown maybe. The shape is tsurime-ish which also helps of course, and while she has eyelashes luckily they are tolerable. Wearing glasses would help but overall Ayumi has really beautiful eyes here.
Grade: A-

Body

Build
Ayumi has a nice for some slender loli body like all Cure tend to do. In general this is the same as other Cure blogs here as she lacks measurements but is flat-chested and cute and legs could certainly look better but ultimately is nice. Sorry if this seems like scampering but 90% of Cures are the same body-wise so this section is not that important. Maybe if Aguri gets blogged someday.
Grade: A-

Butt
Ayumi never shows her ass and thus scores badly. That is all.
Grade: D

Clothes
Ayumi has very few costumes sadly. Perhaps the best and standard is her school uniform, a nice grey blazer-type with a wine red bowtie and a passable matching checkered skirt. Besides that sadly only normal costumes exist and none are that interesting. There is the Cure Echo costume at the least, and not only is white as White Cures are rare but it looks cute with all the frills and ribbons of course plus SPATS really help anyone. Too bad it rarely gets seen. Overall poor Ayumi needs more variety to score decently.

Mind

Personality
Ayumi is a normal girl and was actually designed to be the representation of little girls that watch all these shows. Anyway like many Cures recently she’s a transfer student and as such lacks friends so for obvious reasons she dislikes that. However that changes when she befriends Fuu-chan the alternate bizarre unexplained form of Fusion the villain from the first movie who faces mainly characters missing from the movie he was actually part of. Too bad Fuu-chan turned out to be evil and when the Cures battle it eventually Ayumi steps up and becomes a Cure only to NEVER actually fight anyone as in she never ever throws a punch or anything similar. Fanboys claim this is because of the “Any girl can be a Cure” theme and stuff except that without fighting Cure status is meaningless because the whole shtick of being Cure is fighting evil! Otherwise being a Cure is just getting a hair dye and dressing fancy so nothing all that special. The whole premise ruins the point of making this actually sound special, because the special got sucked out of the thing. This covers New Stage 1 as in 2 unsurprisingly Ayumi went missing and in fact Toei acted like she was not official further ruining the whole premise. The reason was NS2 was about fairy partners and she lacked one, but still lame. Then somehow NS3 gave her two fairy partners because special snowflake and she randomly came back to continue never fighting anyone, seeing as all she did was blow clouds away. At least Rayquaza kicks ass in battle besides stopping the bad climate. And in Haru no Carnival she was out one more time tho she was a cameo like in NS2 just to cover up everything.

Now to personality itself as this will be troublesome. Nothing wrong with Ayumi’s personality as she is shy and cute but nothing special overall. The problem comes with the ridiculous treatment by the fans that for some reason adore her and keep asking for her to come back and treat her as an amazing character when she was fairly dull due to the no fighting nonsense. Kinda sad people were all nuts at the time NS3 came out because Cure Echo was there when all she did was the same thing playing cards a few hours inside achieves and still was worthless. Like the series has to set up some weird specific scenario just to shoehorn Echo into the plot. Nothing wrong with people liking Ayumi or anything similar, but the lack of complaining about the no fighting is pretty sad though unfortunately this is the same fanbase that had a collective orgasm at the idea of a season with even LESS physical combat the already beamspam heavy seasons we’ve had lately so one wonder why they prefer this franchise if they seem not to care about the thing that made PreCure stand out among magical girls. To think we’ve gone from villains that represent the nothingness before the big bang that do truly at the end destroy Earth to loud girls who dream of being princesses and we are meant to support in this ridiculous and nonsensical dream. No worries as Earth gets better.

That said do note not everything is sunshine for this girl as Cure Sunshine is another different character. Speaking of names Echo was voted by fans allegedly and fitting Suite so well is just plain silly coincidence since the season before Suite also used musical names for attacks as Toei lacks imagination for stuff. In fact fans think Ayumi is not a real Cure because real Cure names are never used in later seasons for the regular character, like how Fresh had girls named Miyuki and Reika but now Smile had Cures named that no one will use those names ever again. And yet Ayumi was used very soon for Mana’s mother in DokiDoki so people say Echo is not a real Cure from this rule. Thing is Ayumi is also Love’s mother and Mana plagiarizes Love so much in so many things that is so more likely that no one noticed this when copypasting as many Love traits as humanly possible while still making the girl awful. The fans have more arguments like Toei being inconsistent with the exact number of Cures and how Echo lacks merchandising when other movie characters get Cardass cards with no issue, and naturally Mana gets extra here, or the official Cure store lacks stuff despite actually having merchandising for Regina or Kaoru and Michiru or even the HapiCha generals among other minor characters. Frankly overall it feels like Toei dislikes Echo or at least has no idea of whenever to consider her official or an extra like Cure Ange and other movie characters. Then again Toei has been always terrible at handling canon concerns and similar stuff so this is a tad too blown out of proportion by the fans. Ultimately this makes Ayumi look both unfairly favored and unfairly mistreated which is quite weird and scores passably.
Grade: C+

Libido
Ayumi lacks any romance or love interest for this to mean anything. In fact she even lacks the token yuri partner. At least there is nothing negative, but this section ends rather barren.
Grade: C

Age
Ayumi lacks an official age but is likely a middle school student like most Cures and that is always good here. Not much to say about this.
Grade: A+

Voice
Mamiko Noto has a great voice, but feels wasted as Ayumi instead of doing a proper Cure for nearly fifty episodes. At least she’s not a rarely seen main mother. And funny KanaHana was also wasted in the latest movie so hope Yukarin never gets that.
Grade: B+

Yeah, is weird to find a character the fans love but the show hates as normally both are connected.

Because this franchise has GAR fights as its original unique selling point across magical girl series and thus no fighting is against that entirely.

Odd, seeing as how Cures are named legendary warriors and not legendary therapists.

And that is shown as their ability to fight.
