As far as internet is concerned, China is infamous for the "great fire wall" that blocks google , facebook, and youtube, etc. You might end up in China one day, whether as a tourist or visiting home, and be caught without a vpn. You might find that even going on a site such as MAL takes an ridiculous amount of time to buffer. Why? The foremost reason is that these sites rely a lot on google, and thus there would be a lot of waiting time for error reports while loading MAL. Don't worry, there is an easy way to solve this problem.

Use adblock plus on chrome, and block websites like google.com, youtube.com, photobucket.com, etc, as ironic as it sounds.

It makes a 30 seconds load time for MAL as short as one second, seriously.

If you don't have adblock, you can't visit chrome shop in China (it's blocked). You can download a adblock plus in any Chinese website that ends with .crx, and drag that file into chrome's extension manager. This method installs adblock plus.
