Anime Relations: Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic
Well, I'm keeping this blog thing up, so that's always a good sign! I usually don't get past one or two tries of something like this so, second day in a row go me!

Today has been one of those days that has dragged so much, yet its like a surprise slap in the face when you look at the clock and you've time travelled 5 hours into the future .-.

So, despite time passing crazy fast I've not been doing a great deal; I had work at 08:00, got back at around 13:00, had a shower because it was like working in a freaking sauna. Honestly, it's so hot there because of this 25°C+ heat wave we're having, not to mention they have the heating on for some unearthly reason???

Until right this very second I've not been in the mood to watch anime, so while I write this I'm quenching my thirst for it by listening to the OST for Magi. Ugh I love it so much *-* and if you haven't seen the anime you should check it out!
Athough note: if you prefer dubs, there's a dub only for the first season

Which brings me onto my first anime-related topic: Fairy Tail and the Funimation dubs.
Now, when I first started watching Fairy Tail, I was completely unaware of how many episodes there were, nor did I realise just how recently the final few had aired. So, naturally, because I'm a lazy fundament, I started watching the Funimation dubs which at the time, much to my disappointment, only went up to around episode 40 something. At this point, I was completely hooked and I thirsted for more gratification from this beautifully animated, charismatic anime... So I went to try and watch the subs.

I just couldn't do it. Has anyone else had the problem of switching between dubbed and subbed (either way around) and just being too familiar with the characters' voices? For me it's like waking up one day and your best friend of 2 years suddenly has the most ghetto, deep voice you've ever heard, coupled with them acting way more serious than usual.
I'm not sure if it's worse for me because this was the first dub I think I've actually watched (typically I chose the unfinished one). So now I end up associating everything that Todd Haberkorn voice acts with Natsu and as much as I love him it gets incredibly frustrating.

July 23rd 2013: the day part 5 finally came out
After waiting for 2 whole months. After I finished watching those in one sitting I waited another 5 months to get up to part 7 and so far I've had to wait a grand total of 11 months to get to episode 131: where I am today. Now that's dedication if I do say so myself. Although I guess you could argue if I was really that dedicated to the show I'd have sucked it up and watched the subs, so I'll reword it a little:
Now that's dedication to the dubs if I do say so myself.
There. Much better.

Alas, with the debut of the new FT 2014 series I really don't want to have to wait for the Funimation dubs, which will no doubt come in a few years and honestly who has the patience for that? Certainly not the girl who stops the microwave early because she couldn't be bothered to wait those few extra seconds. (That's me by the way).

THEREFORE!

I have finally decided at long last to watch them subbed. Wish me luck, and a warm farewell, Todd <3

In other news

Before I embark on my epic quest of voice discovery I will finish watching Kill La Kill and thus far I'm up to episode 6.

I won't lie, when I clicked on that first episode and saw the giant figure of Ira Gamagori I was a little worried, mainly because after all the hype, I'd end up hating the art style, because that's exactly what happened to me with Soul Eater.
But so far I'm absolutely loving it, and the fast pace, intense fight scenes at every turn, and quirky characters makes it feel like every episode is a boss fight! I feel like after watching some more serious anime recently (*cough* the crippling emotion of Code Geass *COUGH*) this is a really refreshing change and I've not seen anything quite like it before.
The story seems to be heading in a good direction too, and it just keeps me asking questions like:
Why won't the Student Pres tell Ryuko anything about the other half of her scissors?
Is she just a straight up bitch?
Who is this teacher who has a thing for showing off his sparkly abs?

Will this make me ship clothing????

All very important questions that will soon be answered, for I intend to marathon this tomorrow.

Well, if you ended up reading all of this thank you so much and I hope it was interesting!
If it was (or wasn't!) write a comment below!

Hopefully I'll end up adding another entry tomorrow n.n
