Head

Hair
Cynthia has long pink hair, in the uncommon but cool low twintails. They’re long enough to reach her waist, but since they aren’t straight but “spread open” they might be longer than that. It’s pretty nice. Her bangs are parted to the side; it’s quite noticeable when she takes off her hat. Oh, Cynthia wears a nice purple hat with “goggles” in it, it looks good on her. I don’t think we ever see her with her hair down, and her pink would be better a tad darker, but overall her hair is cute and fits her personality well.
Grade: B

Eyes
Sadly Cynthia’s eyes are green; not a stellar color, but not a bad one either. The shape is what makes her eyes interesting however, as they actually look realistic for once. I love anime big eyes, of course, but seeing a series with an artstyle like this every once in a while is refreshing. Cynthia in particular has narrower eyes than other girls in the show, which fits her personality pretty well actually. Sadly despite being a gamer like Gainer she doesn’t wear glasses like him, boo!
Grade: B

Body

Build
Bad news: Cynthia lacks official measurements, not surprising given her kind of series but still. She is clearly the petite type however, being a bit short and having a slender stomach and a flat chest in spite of all the sweets she eats. Speaking of, unlike in most other series her small breasts are PRAISED in-series, go Tomino being cooler than Obari! Though somewhat unfortunately the one doing the praise isn’t Gainer or similar, but the recurring joke villains, being exact Kejinan praises and Enge agrees. Do you really want to be praised by two guys who look like that? I still appreciate it, but it was kind of random. But hey, DFC got praised, who cares! And besides they’re right, her small chest is awesome and Cynthia in general is awesome. Sadly I can’t give her top marks because her cowboy pants make scoring her legs well difficult, dammit.

Butt
Not shown unfortunately, so I can’t rate. She’s described as being small on the back however, so she wouldn’t go very far anyway. Why can’t her sweets all go to her butt?

Clothes
Unfortunately Cynthia only wears one costume to my knowledge. Maybe the manga or something gives her more, I couldn’t find a thing. It’s a good one at least: It consists of the nice hat from earlier, a scarf, a bra attached to ridiculously poofy and slightly spiky sleeves, panties, the world’s poofiest chaps, boots, and under all of this FULL-BODY TIGHTS. Minus the tights and the boots everything is in various shades of pink and purple to match her hair. There is an official image of her not wearing the tights and sadly a lot of fanart is like that too, lame! That aside her costume is pretty cool, as it’s weird and silly just like her show. I just wish she had more than one.

Mind

Personality
Cynthia is part of the Siberian Railway Company, the villains from the series who want to stop the heroes from completing their Exodus to Yapan. However she’s first seen as an online friend of lead hero Gainer, who managed to beat her record of 200 battles won in a row at the Overman Battle video game. In fact Cynthia treats life like a game, as seen when she first appear in her epic Overman and beats up her allies for fun, or in her “date” with Gainer which is more Cynthia playfully trolling him with a treasure hunt. She ends getting a harsh wake-up however, as after a battle with Gainer she makes him bleed and the sight of this makes her scream in shock. Soon after, her expert pilot status due to coming from a family of ace Overman pilots gets her chosen as the pilot of the final boss Overdevil, though it’s more the Overdevil “pilots” her with its icy mind control. Gainer eventually manages to save her of course, after improving as a pilot by fighting while playing Overman Battle and getting his Gamer King title back. It makes slightly more sense in context, but let’s just say this is a weird series. In SRW she then joins the Yapan’s Ceiling team of good guys in their Exodus.

As said before Cynthia is a quite strange girl. She has problems telling apart reality and fiction, but that’s more her upbringing. She eventually improves herself, of course. She loves gaming and especially sweets. She loves sweets a lot. She’s always eating sweets whenever she shows up. She’s also energetic and upbeat, a bit different from my usual fare but not in a bad way. Also, since I know some of you have thought about it: Yes, Cynthia resembles Anemone from Eureka Seven a lot. Apparently Anemone is based off Cynthia, that’s why her first appearance has her eating jam ravenously. SRW gets on the joke and has them interact whenever they’re in the same game. SRW K also has Cynthia tell PROIST of all people she-Proist is acting like she-Cynthia used to. Aw, come on, Cynthia had a few screws loose but wasn’t evil! K-usoge, you suck. And speaking of SRW might as well talk about Cynthia’s personal Overman she got from her mother and that might be one of the greatest mecha ever: Dominator.

Dominator basically looks like a pink and yellow frog without a face and with green gems. Mandatory SRW attack vid. Its ability is being able to stretch and change its shape and form, as to make a shield or a drill or become a spinning disk or whatever the freaking hell Cynthia wants. It also shoots beams. If you saw the video then you saw the epic giant absorbing explosive flan of doom attack, it’s really awesome and unique and unexpected and fitting and really cool. It also has a “rest” form where it pulls in its arms and legs in and flies around like an egg. Dominator is so good there also is a mass produced version that replaces the pink with grey called Black Domi, but is of course nowhere as great as the original. Hell, this is a bit silly but there is a doujinshi where Cynthia gets abused but at the end “she” actually was a transformed Dominator and Cynthia saw the whole thing from a camera and laughs her ass off at the abuser. Dominator is the best. Err, sorry about that. Fine, others like Asuham are seen briefly piloting it, but nobody uses it as well as Cynthia. And that’s because Cynthia is awesome.
Grade: A-

: Is Dominator your favorite mecha?

: NO!

: NO!

Good question! Dominator is certainly awesome, though King Gainer from the same series is great too. I also quite like the modern Gaiking, don’t know the old one well enough. And Dann of Thursday. And the Shining and God Gundams, though all the Gundams from the Shuffle Alliance are cool. The Turn-A and the Turn-X too, of course! The Guren and its variations too with its Faux-Shining Finger, and that reminds of the Gurren Lagann and all its upgraded forms! Dendoh too, even if it works with batteries it had the Giga Drill Break 7 years before Gurren Lagann. Gunbuster too, and technically Nono as well! Hey, that means Tekkaman Blade and the Iczer sisters count too, and I guess Mahoro and Arale! Chamber too, he’s awesome. The Xabungles and the Walker Gallier as well, and also the Iron Gear since it was the original transforming mothership despite Macross having the fame and it JUMPS. Don’t forget Gaogaigar! And SRW original also have the Dygenguard, and-

Libido
Other than her butt this is Cynthia’s weak point sadly. While she does like Gainer it seems to be just friendship, and otherwise doesn’t seem to be into romance or the like much so it’s hard to gauge her. She comes as a bit of a potential dom at least, her epic Overman’s name helps. Interestingly her manga self is apparently more perverse, but sadly info about the manga is scarce and scans stopped ages ago so I only know this much. For shame, it could boost her score quite a bit!
Grade: C

Age
Sadly Cynthia is 18 with no buts or ifs I can use to give her a better score, and she’s even older than her “love interest” though only by a year. Kind of a shame as I don’t mind her age too much. But as I always say, consistency!
Grade: C+

Voice
Rena Mizushiro has a cute voice and fits well with Cynthia’s playful and crazy nature. Sadly this VA seems to be so obscure she’s not in MAL, poor her! Cynthia also likes using “game talk” like saying “Game start” in English and such, as well as doing the occasional sweets joke. I like this in a weird way.
