Space Battleship Yamato 2199 had everything you could ask for in a remake. It retained all of the core elements of the original series, while at the same time improved upon the weaker aspects of the show. Most importantly, it kept all the same unforgettable music from the original, and re-recorded/re-worked each song to perfection.
